We tend to think of the “good ole’ days” because we weren’t alive then so they are fantasized in our minds. I’ve discovered thru this channel and another one just how wicked people have always been. I used to have some old warrants from the 40s where people were harming each other and fighting up in the Appalachians. I had fantasized how innocent people were there but they were just the same as everywhere else and today. They were also sleeping around and other things. I found a baby born to my great aunt that I had never heard about. I heard that she was about to “have to get married”. But she lost the baby. Not sure if it’s the same baby or not. I don’t judge her. She’s been gone from this earth since 1994. That did explain why she was jealous of a couple of other women in the neighborhood. lol! Anyway, like the Bible says: the heart of man is wicked.

Sadly, there could be men like this looking for victims today. I can't comprehend a woman marrying her brother-in-law days after her sister's death, charging him and then changing her mind. If she was after financial security, it was a poor investment.

Why does it seem like every police investigation from this era goes like:
Biggles: “Constable, I believe Dirk Dastardly is poisoning his wife!”
Constable: “I say! Well, has he signed a confession, witnessed by at least three bishops?”
    Biggles: “No…”
Constable: “I see. Is Dirk here, with poison in hand, ready to give a complete confession?”
    Biggles: “No…”
Constable: “Perhaps his wife is prepared to come into the station and die of said poisoning while I watch?”
    Biggles: “Absolutely not!”
Constable: “Well then, we have done all we can do. Nothing for it but to wait for thirty or forty more bodies to pile up. Once this has occurred, we shall consider questioning Mister Dastardly providing he surrenders himself to us at a convenient time with all required evidence for his conviction on his person. So incredibly interesting - it would be amazing to be able to be there and watch some of their battles! ( in an invisible airship, of course ) 😅

It has become increasingly more difficult in this age to make *that* many victims, but serial killers are still around. Life is never certain.

I’ve seen strange hats, but Mrs. Emily Fisher wore some of the oddest headgear I’ve ever laid eyes on.

What a narcissist! That trap door under his feet opened too late for so many people.

Fisher was SO wrong for fooling around with her dying sister's husband, then married him??!! I know women were desperate in those days for a husband, but this doesn't excuse her behavior. I kinda wish Hoch burked her, but at least he was finally caught. I'm sure Emily felt stupid and guilty until the day she died. Adding the old newspaper articles is a very nice touch. I always pause the video to read them. Thank you, Sir. Another fascinating episode 👏👏👏👍
