Saw this film at the cinema when it first came out ( caught it at a matinee ) and was pleasantly surprised at how GOOD this movie was. I LOVE it. Not a slave film,no crime-kingpins,no dirty cops,etc,etc,..hope more black films come out like this one.

Very good movie
The movie, as a morality tale, clearly makes the cut. Even though nefarious characters lend a hand, the overall message is still pretty clear: You need the community to see you through. Who's going to help you through the greed and missteps of your neighborhood.. Opie?? Sure, there were some things that were unrealistic (oh, gimme a break scenes). But the film still entertained, and communicated the eternal truth: that winning the lottery doesn't change you, it changes the people around you. Ice Cube was great, as was the entire cast. Hats off to the director, actors, and writer of this film.

This is a good funny movie
This is one of those movies that would have ended in 10-15 minutes if they made it to the office in time to cash the ticket. But shout out to Lorenzo. He plays RSJ on power 2 ghost. But I’ll give it a solid 7.5 lotto tickets. Some parts didn’t age well like the Cosby line and the v neck sweaters over plaid shirts.
The winning numbers were called out on Friday night, ain many downtown offices open on the weekend so they were SOL regardless

I’ve always loved lottery ticket. This movie is just as funny and emotional as Life. You definitely need to react to that movie. Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are amazing in that movie. If Kevin’s grandmother kept her damn mouth shut, nobody would’ve found out that he won the ticket and he wouldn’t have gotten jacked. If he would’ve left the ticket at his house or gave it to his best friend that he can trust, he still wouldn’t gotten robbed.
I watch this film with Pop Pop a few times. It feels like a spiritual successor to Friday in my opinion.
Now knowing that Teairra Marí was signed to Jay Z but he ultimately went with Rihanna, I realize that dinner scene was a lil inside joke
