Literally everytime an agent is released people say its over powered but its not the case most of the time. The reason they say this is because it is either unique or just brings something new to the game.
Except harbor. Nobody said harbor is op or strong. All said he sucks and now hes one of the best smokers for high elo amd pro play
three words post plant stall. If she dies she can revive in a 1v1 and stall the spike until it goes off lmao. She is gonna be hella annoying in a 1v1 situation

Yeah this agent is not special. Possibly quite weak actually. I predict they will need to remove the line of sight requirement on the decay to make her actually compete with Omen

@@simba3610I think they're overheal should just be like reynas. Then they will have more of an incentive to rush in and throw her orb. Will kind of be what most initiators are to duelist of how they help push in but this time with a controller.

Clove is by no means bad, infact theyre very strong, but also not overpowered or broken. Honestly a pretty balanced agent it seems that has alot of counterplay

1:14 im still confused about what "switch spectator target" is for. Is it to swap who you are spectating on the map to be able to put smokes where you want, or is it to just normally spectate because you cant swap with left/right click (Taken up by placing smoke keybinds)
The little mini-map is locked in place, so it's just to swap your spectating POV, not the smoke range.
Probably like what you said since the normal left and right click are taken up by the smoke keybinds, could also be important for context to see another teammate's perspective and understand where to smoke
i think one of the key takeaways are that clove has the incentive to keep fighting, when that's just not whats best majority of the time. you want to play with your team, and know when to fight and when not to. but when their pick me up and ult last for like 12 seconds, it really forces you to push in and get kills. this lowkey will mess many people up early on

i think the meddle is amazing in pro play. any molly will kill and postplants will be crazy. also using it to clear an angle with any damage util will be amazing. set plays on this agent will be very good
Leading back into cloves role, I think clove is great for attack and defense (mainly as a controller)
Her decay can put alot of attackers into a panic state even if the decay is around 3 seconds.
The attackers can also be spammed through by a smoke or wallbanged, for easy frags
Her aggro type playstyle is great for attack as well, and your ult can be a free site (let me explain)
With cloves ult, you can clear alot of space surprisingly. The defenders are most likely are gonna hold leave space open to not let clove get a kill and be put at a number disadvantage
More on the space topic, you can also clear angles for your site push even with that short time that you have
In the end, I think clove is great for taking a main lead for your team and still be helpful as a controller. But im a washed gold player with no game-sense so what do i know

Her defense is not that good compared to other controllers tbh. The shortest smoke duration and can't clear space alone. You can't trigger her ult until you die so it's not going to let you take space, only if you die, but if you're dead in the open without protection and you can't get into cover you're just gonna get refragged. You have to play contact behind duelist so you can heal and smoke, she doesn't have util to help her fight like an entry can, though the decay can help. Going to be really strong though I wanna see Astra get some buffs now haha.

Omen still gives more flexibility than clove for play making and is easier to pick up

you were wrong about a few things 1. her smoke is not the shortest smoke in the game it lasts 14.5 seconds while astras only last for 14.25, 2. metal does not have a set time it instead has a set travel distance of 30 meters.
As I was watching that game on ascent it came to my mind that they could easily go past cypher wires, or Leeroy their entry on attack by using their ult to keep pushing after being killed.
I think it’ll be broken depending entirely on if their smokes recharge while dead, which will make post plant their best field of work, entirely due to being able to be picked, then STILL smoke repeatedly if it recharges. Because that’s 3-4 smokes while dead if it recharges
I think that clove could bring the Double smoke meta to ranked since its an agend that seems to be fun to play and you can play a little more aggressiv. I could immagine team comps like clove, viper, raze/jett, kj/cypher/sage and kayo/skye/breach on icebox or breeze, maybe even on bind, getting picked in ranked.
I think the smokes are catered more for entry then post plant. They have a faster cooldown so it could be better to use them that way but I think the smokes are just the “add-on” to her kit which solely makes her a controller. Take the smokes out and she could be a whole duelists agent
the kill and speed up is really what iso needs

I mean, clove’s ult is like Iso’s where you it’s 6 ult points after you get the kill. So 6 ult points to run it down into site, die, still can smoke around site (if the team committed), or revive yourself and have your team help you get the kills
When you die and have ult, people are going to be able to see that on your corpse, so if you died 1v1, you're likely going to lose the subsequent duel to to being animation locked as the invincibility ends, unless you died in a decent spot where you can put yourself in a good spot.
It's a really weird Ult, you can't really control where you die, so it's only useful if you died in a place your team controls or if you died in a good position. Then again, you SHOULD play with your team as a smoker, so it should be good.
as a Brim main, i think shes gonna be a good support for playing with 2 controllers on the same team! She can cause problems to the enemy team when they are pushing into site, and helpfull even if shes dead with extra smoke specially for defusing bomb on a one vs one. Not to play as a solo controller on a team. I see her as a mix controller/dueslit.
this is gonna be like the harbor release where everyone thought he was broken, but they quickly found out that he has a map pool but isnt OP on all maps or in all situations
Honestly I think clove really fits a flex role rather than a straight up controller. Compared with brim as an example you’d have to say that almost every ability is worse and less impactful/harder to extract value from. Same with omen arguably stronger smokes, flash is better than either of cloves abilities, tp is a selfish ability in a way like cloves and id argue at least as good. Omen ult is poo by comparison but cloves is kinda niche good too.
Cloves smokes aren't actually good, they have a low duration, though a lower cooldown too, but the thing is that they traded its effectiveness for being able to use while dead to an extent. Not saying that the smoke as an ability isn't good just saying that the smokes themselves are pretty bad. The dead thing levels them out pretty well with the others.
I think she will be still picked top 3smokes in pro play in the future. Clove has all viable abilities, teambased (smokes, decay and smokes after death) and two for herself.
At the same time the abilities are strongish but not op. Vaible but not too complicated. So i think teams who like aggressive playstyles might go 2 smokes with brim and clove or omen and clove. Also the smoked being so short is a good balance to the fact she can smoke after death. I think its a good agent and the first in a long time which is able to join pro play. Not dominant as chamber or astra in the beginning, but good enough to change up some comps.
id say shes more of like a duelist + controller with the smokes but self revive/heal
This is what I thought, Clove’s abilities are OP on paper, but in practice require a little more finesse to pull it off well.
as a controller main, for me the smoking range is important, Clove's smoking range is the same as Brimstone's which means they can be reliable only on small maps
dawg the fact that when you pick up a vandal that round when u ult, you dont keep the vandal which is super annoying
I think that clove should have 2 c abilities with a higher cooldown because 5 seconds doesnt seem rewarding after getting a kill tbh i think atleast 12 seconds or 15second for the heath and speed boost would make sense similar to reyna's overheal and i think that meddle should cost a little cheaper
So I see if clove and sage are in the team and other 3 agents then the max kills u can get in a round is 7 with cloves ult and sages ult

Smoke defuse on every agent feels busted to me. Also for instance u can send the wingman + smoke defuse the finish the guy trying to destroy it.

Clove is great for solo queue. Strong but not overpowered. Honestly though unless the meta seriously changes they wont be more than a seconddary controller for pro play.
at 1:08 in the smoke screen it says switch spectator/target so you can actually change the map to fit around who youre spectating no?
Nope, your smoke point is always your corpse, but since you use mouse buttons to smoke, A and D are the binds to switch your spectating view.
clove is very good even one of the best , the ult is just so good it can turn over any difficult situation easier ( change my mind)

after playing 4 ranked games the clove (was always in my enemy team) and match mvp every round, I think shes overpowered
Her smokes are gonna be short and her revive isn't too great (the revive can only be used pretty much immediately, so if you died in a bad position, people are going to camp you AND they can see when you have ult). I think she's going to be good, maybe not as good as we think, but she would only really need some number adjustments to become good.

nope, they can't, they still spectate the still alive teammate, just like your usual agent
I thought she might be OP. But after seeing her abilities in depth & the fact that she has the shortest smokes along with a lack of stall util, I don't think she'd be able to be run as a solo controller tbh. At least not competitively.

I think they honestly seem pretty weak. If the decay ability was able to be thrown like a lineup and didn’t require line of site to work I’d say they would be pretty strong. I’d imagine that riot will remove the line of site requirement for that ability eventually.

Sage can revive someone else other than Clove (Clove's like Reyna without flash don't revive her unless she has ult)

its actualy op having skill that can fully heal for period of time and revive its just op the overheal is instant, the revive give you space to dash out, the smoke can be activated while you down is just too strong, in low rank iron-plat yea maybe is not that strong on high elo having smoke no matter what happen to the smoker is just op especially when in 1v1

I think generally speaking, Clove is perfectly fine but will have moments that we're likely going to see in either Pro Play or Streamer's play, where their unique combination of abilities is an absolute nightmare.
I can actually see moments where, if you have clove's ultimate, you could make the admittedly balsy play of flanking. Because, what do you have to lose? You can either use your smoke now, or save them for when you die so you can smoke off a choke, your own body, or an exit point for the enemy and start picking people off. Now, people CAN just camp your body, but, if they do, you smoke your body like I said and your team pushes them. It's a bit funny, clove's still a "Controller" I think, but, the way clove accomplishes it and the way's you can probably play them to accomplish it, are completely different from other controller's. The kit provides a unique form of control where in addition to the Smoke, the second Clove is good or has their ulti, Clove's presence and potential as a Defacto-Duelist make them a very effective agent.

its cause the left click and right click which is used to switch spectators is being used by the smokes keybind. so you instead would use A and D
This agent make comp pick alot more comfortable in my opinion, if you cant instalock duelist and your team dont have smoke, pick Clove

Also, they have such a selfish kit. Outside the smokes and molly, they don't have much team util so I think they're balanced in that regard (but I do think you get an ult point per kill). They def seem pretty strong, but I do worry for Astra in particular cause I really don't think she is going to have much of a spot on maps anymore cause it does feel Omen/Clove outshine her in many ways.
Imo any agent that has abilities needing you to perform to get value from will always be a risk to play with whereas if you choose other agents who can just use there abilities i.e at least for now I dont really see a reason to pick her over another controller, double controller comps can be nice with her but solo controller I dont think will work with her.
Clove isn't optimal in a Double Controller either, it's always Viper + Dome smoker or Viper + Harbor. Clove can't replace Harbor or Viper and they're the worst Dome smoker so they're useless. Dome smoker + Clove isn't gonna be a thing.

Hate to say it kanga but harbours cascade has a 3 second duration once halted. That technically the shortest smoke. And a cove that gets shot out is also shorter technically. So is a recalled astra star smoke.

Lastly i have come across no viper or harbor main who say "the smoke's going down" or "the smoke's going up" (while referring to toxic screen and high tide respectively), they always say "the wall's going down" or "the wall's going up". Stop with this pointless argument.

I definitely dont think this is a deadlock situation bc i think clove is good, but they definitely are not broken.

Clove just has a really solid kit that's really hard to counter. The main reason (in my eyes) that some of the "bad" or "underpowered" agents are like that is because their kit is too easy to play around/eliminate, or need a lot of support to be viable (lookin at you Reyna, Iso, Deadlock and Harbor). Clove doesn't have this issue, they're able to take many more risks than other agents without too much punishment. I can invision Riot reworking their "Pick Me Up" to be a much slower over time overheal that lasts longer to compensate, but besides that, I think Clove is ready for the big leagues.
Her smokes are short, her pick me up needs kills, her decay is going to take some skill to use and has a shorter range, while her ult is going to require not being in a terrible position to immediately revive in. She's gonna be decent, but not the next coming of Chamber.
We need people like Kanga saying new characters aren't OP to convince Riot to not nerf new agents.

I think none is gonna pick her in vct, her c is useless and astra and omen are just better when it comes to smoking because they don’t have such a small range

I wont say it is overpowered, but it will be a pain to go rank with a reyna, iso, chamber, sage and now clove who you know going to do ego peeks and serching for fights
i actually think clove is the strongest agent that has been released recently. iso was skill dependent for 1v1s, vulnerability was and is pretty strong. deadlock was underwhelming with her ult being practically useless unless the person ulted was alone. clove seems good and op in comparison to the other two. controller with duelist and initiator like abilities. plus you can smoke when dead. ima have a lot of fun playing this character

The round's over if the round basically ends. Like if you're a defender and the spike is planted, if you kill a clove, she can still revive because you have yet to defuse. But if you're a clove on the defense side in the same situation, you can't revive. All other times where the round ends after a kill, clove can't revive

Reyna controller version, a kit that let's you out duel enemy in low elo + smoke even if play with too much ego
They might not be broken, but they are hella fun to play.
clover is broken because they teach the wrong thing to controllers. Having the shortest smokes that can be used after dying makes it teach that trading in takes is the best move as clove, rather with the rest of controllers lock-down sites, making them more useful out of sight and gaining defense peak advantage.
Clover is bad because it teaches the exact opposite; having smokes after death makes people believe they are useful as going 3/7/4 means that they think they are trading correctly. on top of that, people lock by role not agent, seeing clove be your only controller throws games since she isn't really a controller, rather a lot more aggressive and not defensive. Riot is blurring the lines between roles, similar to what they did with champions in LoL, however this is negatively impacting games. I hate this 'nuh uh I'm not inting' protection that riot has given the agent with smokes classing as assists, its like trying to flame an attack speed lethality sion on your team. Riot has removed how unlocking agents work and now you have to equally balance every agent to the same skill level (see cypher)
Tldr; She is not a controller, don't pedal her off like one. I play controller in clover games because of this now, because everyone who plays clover are duelist players who smoke their teamates too early

When is release date ?
Their Q really isn’t good, decay just doesn’t work well with throwable abilities especially if that’s the only thing the ability does.

I feel like anytime a new agent is released everyone always says they’re broken and then when they’re released everyone realizes they’re not. Take deadlock for example.
I have a question, if clove only needs 1 point for their ult and gets killed, can they revive or it can only activate till next round?

People think this agent is over powered? All i see is a worse version of reyna's ability. A worse version of fade's ability and and some pretty average smokes. And people are comparing the ult to a sage ult? If thats so i think its far worse than the sage ult cause you dont nave the flexibility of reviving at any ime and have to revive almost instantly. I see it beings more reminiscent of the phoenix ult but not as safe cause you dont get teleported back to a set location. The only thing i think would be usefull is the ability to smoke after death with allows you to continue doing your job if you suck at staying alive or if your agresive like a duelist but the rest of the abilities seem so uncomplimentary and useless like whyncant riot come up with creative agents anymore this is just a copy paste of old abilities with new animations but worse. Personally I think the last time riot came up with a good unique agent was gekko ever since then we just get these lame ass agents that are copies of old agents thats slightly diffrent or more akward to play
