Terry J I was thinking the exact same thing!! That thing is gonna get WARM on an extended ride. Plus, to quiet it down, they need to put cuts in the inlet to be able to squeeze it in on the pipe then weld it shut. It would probably work just fine under the rear bats long ways pointing out the back.

@@MrTheHillfolk He didn't reply to you and was exactly on point with the op. The engine would die if it was plugged to. Might help to get something that is more of a match for that exhaust diameter. The bigger pipe makes more sense when running from a collector, but this is a single cylinder deal.
The inside of a jet is shaped like the venturie in a carb so drilling or anything causes the fuel to sort of dribble and not itemize properly but, it is a way to get fuel in there.
The VM series of mikuni carbs have 3 jet circuits, pilot, mid and high, 2 jets, emulation tube diameter, needle diameter, e clip height, and slide cut away height. There is much more to them then just the main jet.
In stead of running the filter down by the tire just build a snorkel to come up In front of the handle bars. That way it covers the carb and the intake it up higher as well

Hi John and Ike. me again. got an idea... Maybe have a little pop up window of the $50 go kart doing its record lap at the same time as a new attempt on a new kart. That quad looked quickkkk, would be cool to see the $50 kart doing a 'ghost' lap thats 7 secs faster. Anways lovn the vids and lovn you guys, keep it up. Your mate from downunder Matt.
To quieten a single the outlet needs to be as small as the headpipe. The more internal volume of the exhaust the better. Ike, that A is too cool and original to do anything other than just what you said you wanted to do. Great plan for a really cool car!
The issue is the exhaust output is to big. Cap off the end and drill a 1 inch hole. The pulses need to be smoothed into a continuous stream. You won't see a difference in power.
Is the fact that the muffler is hard mounted (welded) to the frame, instead of hanging from the factory rubber muffler hangers, causing the sound to reverberate more loudly?
What they need is some of the mufflers off the super quiet Honda and Predator generators to get the noise levels way down. And they need a 420 with electric start.

Fun stuff as always guys. That thing is getting good. Question: When your welder is performing so well; Is the whip(liner) straight? I find with pretty much any of the smaller welders, if the line isn't almost dead straight and has any curls in it those small drive motors dont push the wire at a steady rate. So even though you have good power and ground, the wire feed either burns back to the tip or slo- motions on you. I've always found that the whip is either looped or has a kind of twist from welder to gun when that excellent😡wire feeding is happening. Could also be a dirty liner. Just asking. Lol You guys have some great fun👍
Most of your noise is the engine itself. Those type of engines have minimal mass and it's mostly the physical mechanical noise. Also why most generators are so loud. Until you use something to dampen the sound of the engine itself, it will always sound loud. Keep up the great content! I always love seeing my notifications on new videos!
doesnt the needle in the slide have 3 or 4 notches and a little c-clip so you can adjust it up or down in the slide to adjust to flow of fuel? almost all round slide carbs I have ever worked on had that.
