- Our Predator 420cc rat rod ATV vs the monster truck go kart! Two of our most capable off road projects go head to head in trail riding and a circuit race. The 420cc ATV outperforms the 212cc monster truck kart in every way- acceleration, top speed, and braking EXCEPT for the tires. The lifted go kart’s new ATV tires give it superior traction to the rat rod ATV, which helps it take the victory in today’s head to head matchup. Also, Ike ruins our very nice stage 2 Predator 420cc engine. Classic.

The monster truck did surprisingly well and I was really amazed at how poorly the ATV performed. I never would have guessed that something that a company put together to go off-road could not compete with you guys building your own built monster truck. Kudos to both of you for the great job!

@@coreyengle1145 my 301 does. The stock air filter location is above the motor, and it will run as long as the filter doesn't get wet.

Party mode for the atv and need to get reverse on the monster truck kart and widen the stance on the front and stiffer suspension on the front. Over all awesome work guys!

It was a good run,but the lack of tread really showed.It was a great effort on both.Nice of you both to run the quad in 2-wheel drive,to equalize the odds.(I've always said a can over the filter is needed when mud and water are involved,)

From watching it becomes painfully obvious that the ATV is purely limited by grip, needs some better tires like the monster truck has.

Hey guys I have a suggestion. On the monster truck go kart, how about making a video where you make a mold of the body and make a new body out of fiberglass so you can keep the original body safe, as well as be able to make replacements in the future. Accidents happen and it would be less heartbreaking to damage a replacement body than the original. Also consider a rollbar.

Muck fud holes. Just the surest way to break and wear out your toys. Loved seeing these two engines go head to head though, as I have one of each of these engines built similarly. The 420 on a Hyundai golf cart and the Tillotson on a Coleman ct200u-ex.

All but 1" shaft are usually reversible. So if your running a 212 or smaller yes it can be ran backwards
:edit: wait belt? Do you have a torque convertor and not a clutch? Could be a few things wrong with a torque convertor.

Vanguard 11hp and not sure about belt,its MAYBE 3/4" wide.
@@bigddh78 yes with an 11hp you should have a tav40, if the belt is very worn it could be the problem, but then youd want to figure out why the belt wore. When you give it gas and the rpms go up does the front pulley close and squeeze the belt as it should to get the kart moving? If the kart is on jacks/blocks you should be able to see the tav function. Alot of people will put the wrong type of belt as well lawnmower belts will not last very long at all
Hey guys at my local Harbor Freight I saw a 708 cc Predator engine. Figured I’d tell ya and maybe you can look into it.
The 708 is a vertical shaft (mower) engine.

I don't know why everyone was hating on the Wheeler when you guys were building it. If anyone has ridden one stock you know your guy's motor swap is definitely way more Torquay than a stock Polaris. It may be a little slower because of the different clutches used but I personally would rather have what you guys made than a stock one! But anyways you guys said you were thinking about putting a body on it but I was thinking it would look really cool if you guys did you own front and rear fenders! Something like the outsider quads like quad ricers have but much more refined and usable not so post apocalyptic. I think you guys could make it look pretty awesome. Even with stocks back one it will be cool.

flippin the tires around and giving the monster truck a wider stance would help dramatically with the tipping issues. adding a few inches may not seem like a lot but when it comes to stability an inch can be everything

I call it about even. Ike needed to utilize reverse a lot in the mud and ultimately got stuck in it, but John needed help with the hill climbing.
I'm totally in love with the monster truck hey.... looks epic fun!!! Thinking of finding an old Quad and turning that into one... body for it would be super hard to come by here in Aus unless custom... Great work guys!!! Keep up that mud slingin'!!!
You guys could add some panels on the bottom of the monster truck kart to keep the mud out of the inside. You could use plastic, sheetmetal, rubber, or even fiberglass. It would make the monster kart more refined like an actual truck.
