I'm the guy who recorded this show. It's not the best quality in the world, but I'm glad I caught some early versions of the songs.
Do you have some footage? Or is it just the recording?
+zenaido andrade I only recorded the audio.
+RChappo2002 Thank you for recording, I wish I had known about Muse back then. Buffalo is so close to home for me!
+Killswitch7900 It was a great gig - and nice to see them in a relatively small venue!
+RChappo2002 I recorded this audio mate, you are an imposter
The Exo-politics guitar solo is still one of my favorite Muse solos simply because it fits and flows so damn well with the song. I love it.
It's one of my favorite solos as well.
me too
I much prefer this version to the final one on the album. The lyrics make it much darker, more mysterious - an internal battle rather than with "the aliens", and the fact that the "chorus" is only played at the very end. Gives it such a powerful finish and more punch, the restraint rather than just dropping it like earcandy. What a treasure!
Hell yes!!!
Truth is, the whole Black Hole's album felt lacklustre.
@@BlueGuise9What is this new hate I’m seeing for BHAR? Very confusing how it went from Muse’s second highest rated album back in the day with fans, next to OoS. Now, I see people dismissing it. Odd.
17 Years Ago , I could not stop playing the bootlegs of this Masterpiece of a tunage and was dreaming of it becoming a HUGE STAPLE of their tours & live gigs....And here we are now....One of the most criminally underrated tunages ever...And mostly "underrated" (or plain "hated") by the band itself....
How come that they hate it?
"The truth to compensate your lies."
Very pwopa lyrics.
I want to do your profile picture
This was the best era to be a muse fan. Loved all the bootlegs
The lyrics are so much more deeper in this version!
current lyrics are about a conspiracy theory. which fits a lot more with BHAR. this sounds too much like Absolution era. Fury is a better song and fit for Absolution than this imo. glad they changed it and went into BHAR.
I wish there was anyone out there who would polish this audio and give us an HD Timescale Keeper by Muse.
I hope you know that "Timescale Keeper" wasn't the actual title. That was an encoded title -- an anagram, used as a clue in a treasure hunt for fans.
Wow.... This demo is amazing and IMO much better than Exo Politics on BHAR,
the lyrics and the delivery by Matt feels more deep and meaningful, much more emotion and his voice sounds absolutely eargasmic here, as well the middle eastern harmonics gives this song an epic mysterious and spacey vibe which I love!!!
Wish they officially release this demo, I’d definitely buy it
i and SO grateful someone recorded this. Matt's voice is just incredible.
This literally gives me goosebumps! Love the studio version but I prefer this one for sure. Damn!
Same!!
Is it bad that this makes me so emotional, I feel so upset listening to this, but also so happy because I love the song. It makes me feel so much, definitely one of Muse’s best, I wish it stayed like this
Is anybody even noticing that this is one of rare time that he did belt the note at 2:03 (unlike on the 2006 tour where they played it dropped half step) and perfectly. This video is gold and Matt is truly a skilled musician.
Yeah, Matt's vocal restraints are not from him losing his range, he isn't losing his range, he just has to conserve it more, now that their shows are longer and more frequent. In Survival the 2nd solo consists of Matt's vocals mimicking the guitar notes, and at the last part of the solo he surpasses the pitch he hit for Micro Cuts.
@@Chico50445 Yes never said that he is. I meant the rare time he does in a live performance. I think he never attempted to hit A4 (I think) live since a long while
Felix Abk A4s are fine for him. It’s the Bb and B4s that he’s had to drop down a bit. But you’re right in saying some A4s have been dropped down to G#/G4s due to key changes recently.
I actually prefer this version over the studio version haha. the studio version doesn't have enough bass imo
I think it has too much bass, not in the intro but once it comes in, it is way too distorted. I like this simple raw bass sound, it fits the riff way better than the guitar in the studio version and the distorted bass.
Also I like that only the 2nd chorus includes the "I'm waiting patiently" part. It feels like a better payed off buildup
Going straight from the chorus to the solo and only having the 'waiting patiently' riff at the end is a way more satisfying payoff then the studio version
I need B A S S
If you listen closely, the studio version does have bass, but the distortion and synth effects employed on the bass track alone combined with the synths and guitars makes it kind of saturated in terms of sound. But yes, this version is kinda more natural and aggressive.
Lyric Corrections: "secrets locked up, hold me back, and weighs me down" - as the studio version...
"Start asking where to find..." - big difference in meaning
instead of "so it forms in my mind," i can't exactly say this for sure but seems like "So it forms our worlds..."
but yep. Nice compilations of pics and good effort. :) love to play this song.
Make sense, thanks
I like the harmonies on the "waiting patiently" in the original more but everything else is better tbh
This version makes me like Exo-Politics more and more. Especially the opening of this one, with the bass playing, is awesomeness.
They need to play this song more often, one of my favorites.
The drum fills add more momentum to the pre-chorus. I like it.
This dark one is far better.
About Twilight. Stephanie asked Matt some years ago if she could use their music if her books would be mad too films. So he just kept that promise. For New Moon they wanted Muse to make a Remix of one of their songs to the movie and Matt said that it was ok as long as it wasnt a lead track of the album like Uprising or Resistance.
Correct lyrics:
Open the skies over me
I am waiting patiently
I'll wait for the sign
Whisper through centuries
Secrets locked up lonely
And I'm waiting until
Stop asking yourself why
You can't see the symbols in your eyes
Stop asking where to find
the truth to compensate your lies
So it forms in my mind
I am searching for a twisting world
And there's no scars on my side
Stop asking yourself why
You can't see the symbols in your eyes
Stop asking, where to find
the truth to compensate your lies
Well I'm waiting patiently
I’m waiting for a sign
Well I’m waiting so patiently
But I’ll wait for the truth

Maybe those are the lyrics form another version... (early or lately)
Musewiki has been wrong with a lot of lyrics on several occasions so let's just say no.
Me too. I really like the aggressive approach with this version. It fits the whole song better I think. Makes it more gripping and emotional and tense and the prechorus is so powerful it makes my asshole tingle. But that's.. perfectly normal tho... right?
I dont even care that their songs are in twilight
it just means more fans- more fans means they can keep rocking
no problems
Holy hell how did i not know about this!
Someone NEEDS to recreate this!
Masked Guitar Boy I play in a band, I can try push this version and record it then upload it if you’d like, though it might take a while
@@hydra9627did you get around to covering this version?
@@MegaLoquendo2000 Yeah we did, but never recorded it. I left and moved away not long after.
I LIVE IN BUFFALO I WISH THAT I KNEW MUSE BACK THEN OMG I WAS REALLY YOUNG BUT STILL IM SO ANGRY
I love exo politics but I gotta admit, that first minute in a half of this version is badass. They should have left it like that. Great video bro
exo politics is already my fave song. now, this early ver makes me even more appreciate it!! thank you for putting the lyrics too, or else we don't know if it's the same
OH MY GOD! I've been years searching for this! I love it, one of my favorites songs by them. Thank you so much!
This performance is fantastic!
Love this version. Thanks for sharing. :)
Both versions have poetic and wise lyrics
My favorite song from the album! It's great to hear an early version, great upload!
Assasin from so called grand omega bosses also kicks ass!
Better than the Album Version
excelente .... deberia salir como bonus track,.... precioso tema .... Muse lo mejor
I miss the old muse that would just play songs for the hell of it. Now they're so precise on each show.
MUSE take perfectly good lyrics and then turn them into another set of perfectly good lyrics. Oh how I envy them. Or at least Matt since he writes the lyrics. But I envy all of their skills.
Sunburn at Dundee was pretty cool! I think all sustainer intros are the best when they flow right into the song. Another one being Starlight at Abbey Road.
Thanks for the rating. I'm planning on more covers soon but the problem I have is that my stupid camera can only film 3 minutes at a time... so I can only do short songs. :(
Anyway thanks again
Dave
Sounds amazing - I like the guitar during the first verse - otherworldly..
Thanks for posting this song! I didn't know that a version of Exo Politics with alternate lyrics existed.
Wow they played in Buffalo in 2005 that's depressing. I live there and didn't even know they were there... DAMN!
Love this song
I think this version is better than the album one :3
That would either be Take a Bow after he sings 'Take a Bow' and before the guitar comes in.
Or during New Born after the piano intro and before the main guitar riff.
:)
this version is freakin awesome +.+
I don't know if I prefer this omg I love the stop asking yourself why part
Thanks for the translation man, those lyrics where interesting too (mostly the chorus)
Debut of a MUSE song, live? Awesome.
My gooooood! i never get tired of this song!
stop asking where to find....the truth to compensate your lies!!
Spettacolare...awesome !J like both version!!
thanks for sharing it ! ciao cheers!!
I love the picture at 2:06 haha :)
and I love Exo-Politics, but this is amazing! The chorus is REALLY good.
Thanks for sharing it with us pal!
ciao cheers greetings from italy!
Whaaaaaaat???Soooo Goooood. How come iv'e not heard this before? Are there any other muse jems like this???
I like this better than the album version :)
Wow this version is so good
this is awesome man!
the lyrics are good!
Burning bandits
If you hate Muse just because of Twilight then you're no true music lover!
Anyways never knew there was an original version of Exo-politics..Love it!
D-Did someone ever made a cover of this version ? If not, then I'll learn how to play any instrument and sing. I love the studio version but damn, this one is so good too !
The album version seems to be about aliens; originally it was about something else, then the references to demons were changed to being about aliens.
This version is spooky and sounds better than the released version
Much better than the finished version... that goes for a few tracks from BHAR.
I love how matt moves and do gestures with his mouth ♥
very different and interesting lyrics, I personally like the exopolitics version, but this is cool to see what was going thru his mind back then
Every time I hear exo-politics I think, oh...umm...crap, it's that one song by Adele.
But then I have a massive revelation. This band is the greatest in the world.
@Happyfacesmiles25 He's using the kaoss pad in his guitar. It's like a little touch pad where you program the effects you want, and the effects kick in once you touch it, and depending on how you touch it, it will give you a different sound. For example, in the Supermassive Black Hole solo.
This is INCREDIBLE.
I was incredibly disappointed when I realized this wasn't on their new live album. It really should have been.
OMG I live in buffalo,NY can you please come here once more😦😧
Are there any studio recordings of this version? It's epic..
wow!!! nice!!! i like so much this version :p
Bellamy belting notes...it doesn't get better! I hope you've all heard his Falsetto from Bliss - Live at earlscourt 2004. No video but MY GOD! Go look!
Where the hell is that super cool drum intro ?
It's apparently better than Zetas (sorry Matt ha)
omg tjhe pics rocks !
I love this song!
I strongly doubt those were the only reasons. I think they wanted to reach out to the emotional youth in a way that would influence them like you know muse does. With love, appreciation, care, devotion, uplifting tones and personal growth. We, as emotional beings should recognize all this and much more.
The guitar intro is much better in this version of the song.
Es mi canción favorita, lastima no la tocaron cuando vinieron a Colombia :(
Loving their van! :)
Sounds so much cooler!!!!
Brilliant
Incredible vocals
fury intro owns, and the lyrics are so much better :D
admitedly they make slightly more sence on the album version but this is more win :D
oh how I wish I could have been there.
and to get more exposure in america. the bass player said it was like selling their souls.
Love this version!!
Please Please let there be a version of this on the Xx_Anniversary_xX edition of BH & R when it comes out in 2 years
Didn't know this existed..
Yes. Yes it is.
check your audio control panel such as RTHDCPL, and turn on everything muted, also check the "Master Volume" on system tray
mat felt on purpose on the drums xD
i like his style and character.. he is original .. xD
Respect
this version has better lyrics than the ones in the BH&R version of Exopolitics
Haha SICK
@lucs1992 correct. im pretty sure bellamy said somewhere that neutron star was just a leftover that didnt make it onto Resistance. i mean if ppl offered me a boatload of cash to use one of my un-preferred songs, i'd definitely be game, lol.
@quibto It's not a kaoss pad. It's an XY Midi Pad hooked up to a Kaoss Pad. I know it seems nit-picky but there is a pretty big difference.
It was "I belong to You", "Supermassive Black Hole" and "Neutron Star Collision (Love is forever)"
Was it named burning bandits? First time I hear of 'timescale keeper'.
This is Music...
