This hairstyle looks like a braid but I think it's actually much easier to do. Unfortunately, because you are knotting your hair, this stitching technique probably won't work well on extremely layered hair. If you have minimal layers, just use gel or wax to smooth out your hair before making your right to left knot. :)

No, my hair is naturally straight. I used a 1.25 inch curling iron to achieve these curls. :)

I haven't been doing anything different. The camera is making it look extra shiny because of the natural light bouncing off it. :)
I did the original chineses staircase knot all the way down my hair (it's your length or longer) and slept on it. When I took it out in the morning I had super curly hair! It didn't look good down, but I put it in a pony tail and it looked amazing!
So glad I found you, I love cute girl hairstyles but it doesn't help much because you learn how to do the hair on someone else :)

I like this one, and I can already do it. It's the same tie method used when cooking stuffed chicken or beef. I used that method to tie string around stuffed and rolled steak

i have layered hair. in fact i've been shorting it up to my shoulders because of some discoveries have made with my hair coloring in the past year while working at a hair salon. all i do is apply some product to my hair. i use some PAUL MITCHELL products. try some sculpting foam or sculpting pomade , or any product that would give you some sort of texture to your hair for control and at the end just put hair spray over it. hope this can help you
