Chris Kramer: "When I was booked as a soloist at an event years ago, at which Jörg Hegemann also performed, the organizer asked us to play a joint piece at the end. This was such a resounding success that we had to give more than half an hour of encores. The evening really started and gained momentum at that moment. At that moment, the idea was born to play a complete set together with Jörg at one of the next events in my "Rohrmeisterei Unplugged" series.
I didn't want to miss the chance to record the evening. And here is the result. I hope you like the videos of the concert!
Jörg Hegemann:
Jörg Hegemann from Witten an der Ruhr, born in 1966, is one of the rare masters who master this piano style perfectly and keep the charm and power of this music alive in the new millennium. He can look back on some 2000 performances in more than 30 years on stage, including concerts in the USA, Russia and another 13 European countries. He is the musical director of a regular boogie festival at the Philharmonie Essen and various similar events. He has produced nine CDs under his own name, has appeared on countless festival CDs as well as productions by other musicians, and promotes upoming pianists. As the "man at the piano" he has performed at events with Bill Ramsey, Chris Howland, Hape Kerkeling, Franz Beckenbauer, Johannes Rau and many others. At the first official music award "German-Boogie-Woogie-Award Pinetop" in Bremen Jörg was honored as "Pianist of the Year 2009".
