Nice one mate! 15:50 - Talking about the ways 'Shoegazing' bands crashed and burned when they tried to be Britpop, I think it was a personality thing, as opposed to a talent thing. Look at Ride, bags of talent and synergy but when they dropped the noise, it didn't work. I think a lot of the shoegazing bands were born to do what they did, in the same way Oasis were born to always be that cocky swagger band

Interesting about shoegaze bands trying to do more personality-led Britpop music. Makes me think of those actors who had been successful in silent movies but didn’t have the voices or the ability to deliver lines when sound technology ushered in the “talkies” era. They were trying to keep with the times and do the latest thing, but didn’t really have the right abilities for it.
