Hey! Just wanted to drop by and thank you guys for this podcast and creating this community and space. I’m writing this as someone for whom your podcast episodes have been a constant companion throughout her architectural thesis - which was one of the toughest things I’ve tackled in my life. And now that it is done and I’ve finally graduated, I haven’t been able to sleep ever since. ( I do suffer with insomnia occasionally) I tried meditation, binaural beats, medication, you name it. Today after a month of being constantly awake, I chose to catch up on the few missed episodes of tiss, and to be able to say that I slept like a baby has brought me to tears! (I promise I mean this as a compliment and I do rewatch them when I’m awake to hear what you guys have to say) But yes I believe it’s the highest form of a compliment because you’ve been able create such a safe space, virtually, without knowing me personally, just goes on to show your sincerity and genuinity towards this podcast! Love you guys and you’ll have a fan and supporter in me till the end of time!
You guys have motivated me to buy a small journal and start doodling. I had completely forgotten how relaxed i used to feel post doodling, among all the chaos n work.
Omg thats such an intense thought of drawing something instead of taking picture to stay in that moment for much longer and also observing things much more deeply…Amazing Kautuk! 👌👌👌
Arre Varun Thakur, yeh Pokhraj Roy ke saath podcast karlo... yeh itna lonely hai ki RUclips pe aake sabke videos par comment karte rehta hai baar baar.
@@Hey.MangoJango"Itna lonely hay ki" is a assumption based conclusion which serves ego in the satisfying manner but from practically logical perspective, not necessarily the case 😊
34:31 Varun is so real for this: They’ll be sexist about boys learning culinary arts but then they see one reality show which gives you a cash prize, then it’s all encouragement.
I have a request. Can you please make a honest episode on your requirements of a friend. What do you look for in a friend. What do they mean to you. Do friends matter in your personal life. For example, when they make fun of you, do you play along and make self depreciating jokes? Upto what extent do you make self depreciating jokes. Do your friends know upto what extent they should make fun of you. Do you have an unsaid rule between you guys? Would you consider them family. I hope you know what I mean. Thanks if you're reading this. Btw I watch this every week. Most of the times also re-watch multiple episodes throughout the day. Thanks!
I live in Washington DC and it has all kinds of mesmerizing museums, most of which are free. One such museum is the National Gallery of Art which has the only Leonardo da Vinci painting in the Americas on display. It's called Ginevra de' Benci and you can get so close to it that you can breathe 2 inches away from it. The museum is never crowded, except on exhibition days, it's free, you can sit in front of Ginevra for hours and admire Da Vinci's work at your own leisure. One of the most surreal experiences. Kautuk and Siddhi will particularly like this one a lot.
Rat was named "Splinter". Also one of the great painters of that era named Giovanni di Ser Giovanni, also known as Lo Scheggia, or "the Splinter". I think it was reference to his short stature.
11:31 Watching this while working on a freelance illustration and redoing things because of tiny details that the client didn't like. Pretty sure Da Vinci took 18 years to make Mona Lisa because he had to remake things a number of times till the client finally approved!
First 30 min of this episode is just everyone showing off 😂 when i was in Paris.... When i was in Florence..... When i was in Russia.... When i was in Canada ....
"Leonardo" A 2021 TV series, must watch for people interested in knowing about the extraordinary life of Leonardo da Vinci and the works which made him famous. It also features Michael Angelo and shows how they crossed paths in their life.
You guys should definitely check out the works of Damien Hirst. His work are some of the most out there pieces. I hesitate to put any labels like sculpture/installation/exhibition because they are a bit anomalous and very conceptual. Very interesting stuff.
I feel my fav moment of seeing an original work was seeing Jamini Roy's painting in Kolkata museum. Ig it was special because being an artistic person i had studied about him and though he has a distinct style hes a much lesser known artist. It was nice to be the only one in the grp who knew the artist.
Watching this episode while writing my master's dissertation on Museums and Art. 😂 So many beautiful facts by the TISS boys put out in such funny ways. Sad I can't use them though 😂
Jaggu dada cooking show already is based on a old sketch done by Suresh Menon and Purbi Joshi, where Suresh acts as Jaggu dada and Purbi as a TV host. It was hilarious
I went to the same museum in Ottawa as 🐮 🛺.. my wife really wanted to visit while I was craving for food.. after the 1st floor, I was groggy and hungry and she was 🥱.. 😂
If you are talking about art you cannot miss the masterpiece by the most under-rated Indian artist - Rocking Horse by Sagar Pandey!!!

If RUclips introduces a "1 comment per video" rule then Pokhraj Roy would die of withdrawal symptoms.
If that ever happens, I can always write essays. You will have to deal with big blocks of text IN EVERY VIDEO.
@@PokhrajRoy.I will take that even today pokhraj please
It’s interesting to see the progression from “So Siddhi and I” to “CD and I”.

This YT channel is just so special. Feel so fortunate to have been following the guys all these years.

I'm so glad that they mentioned the Vincent van gogh is scene from Dr. Who. The most heartwarming scene ever. 🌸😭 I cried so much after watching that.
I did not know but I was lowkey missing Adar doing nautanki when Varun says the intro lolol!!!
Why isn't there majnu bhai in this conversation, it's pretty rude to skip such refined artist!!
Please bring more guests like these
Omg thats such an intense thought of drawing something instead of taking picture to stay in that moment for much longer and also observing things much more deeply…Amazing Kautuk! 👌👌👌
Art is subjective but my joy at seeing AADAR on the podcast is objective.
P.S. The thumbnail is cursed as always.

Discussing ART without bawa is like having pineapple on pizza

I live 5 blocks from the Ottawa art gallery and I’m happy to see Kautuk mention the spider, can’t just not notice it, even if it’s an every day sight!

Yes! I need Bawa's FLOO-FLAH! 😆😆😆
Movie recommendation: Loving Vincent (2017) 🙌

KAUTUK’S Quote: “I think the point of trying to do art is not to get good at it. It’s to access those parts that art will enable you to access.”
1:13:18 It’s titled ‘Balma Kyun Ghode PE Sawaar Hain’
19:21 Kautuk is some different talent yaar… how is he speaking with his mouth closed
The spider installation that kautuk mentioned is 'Maman' by Louis Bourgeois
We need Neville for art episode
I watched that scene from Doctor who and I cried profusely. Thanks Aadar and Kautuk.

This is the topic where bawa was necessary
24:00-24:30 kautuk is frozen - Sai internet services.
Its magic that Kautuk can talk without moving his lips 😂😅

Ngl watching Varun exploring the Louvre would be a great documentary.
P.S. Varun’s Vine with those Mona Lisa puns will never not be iconic.
My favourite Indian Art Forms are Madhubani, Bikaneri, Kalighat style, Santhal art and folk/indigenous paintings.
Rabindranath Tagore is poster child for abundant artist. Broski constructed multiple houses to fill them up with furniture he built.

1:00:26 So beautifully articulated and absolutely agree. Why are we socialised to see art as freebies?
Quote of the Day: “Parents dikhaye Monet, bachche chale sone(t).”
Oh noe i thought art episode Bawa baath karega . This is a heartbreak for Bawa simps sksksk
Now one topic for next podcast: if you get hands on Time Machine, what will you do with it? Whom you will visit?
I think they’ve done a version of this topic but I’d love to hear about this topic.
Van Gogh k pass kaan nahi hai aur Bawa k pass bahut kaan hai. Great kaan masti!

Varun took me out with ‘Madhuri Ka Fan Hussain’ HAHAHA
Art aur artist ka baat Kiya asli artist gayab ho gaya
@cowtuk ‘s background drawers look like an Egyptian flag 😂
the mention of Kim Jung Gi made me clap. Thanks, Kautuk.
Art or artist ka baat kiya or aasli artist nikal gya 😋
53:50 In Kolkata, we have ‘I Love Keshtopur’. I laughed a lot but idk I found it endearing 😂
57:24 M.F. Hussain did it before New Yorkers who make doodles on the Subway and give it to the subject they were drawing.
Art is valued at that level since it’s easy for money laundering instead of cash.
That thumbnail is a thing of art 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Waiting for Varun to tell stories about African safari
I was told once that if you saw everything at the Cairo Museum, it’d take you 4 years.
You should have kept the fourth frame as Mona Lisa and kept changing it as you progressed to different piece of Art.
