Quick Change Tool Post for the Rhodes Shaper (Part 2: Tool post body finished, retainer bushing)

  • Second in a series about making a quick change tool post and holders for my Rhodes shaper.
    In this installment, I make the retainer bushing, and also finish the main body of the tool post.

    Great stuff, that dovetail may have been a good job on the shaper. Ive just done my first dovetail on my 8” boxford shaper, and i was surprised how quick the cutting is, once i got the tooling right

      I thought about using the shaper to do it... I always enjoy using machines to make things for themselves. It's been a while, so I don't quite remember my reasoning for doing it on the mill.
      I suppose that's one of several things I'd do differently, if I were to make another. Though this toolpost has been everything I wanted, so far.
