    Thank you Matthew. I saw this over the weekend in December.and was in shock. I was alarmed to be convinced and fooled by experienced agents into a false security of an Advantage Plan, and I no longer even had a Prescription Plan. By Monday morning I called your team. They helped me choose and apply at the right time to get out of the wrong situation. I would have been there for years, who knew?! As of 1st February all changed, I'm in a HD Supplement Plan G and a Prescription Plan. So much you taught me, I can't thank you enough for your honesty. and teaching clearly without me getting confused and overwhelmed.

    I am new to Medicare. I just applied for part B and am looking for a medigap policy. I have so many questions. Thank you for making it clear and for your sincere efforts to help people like myself understand the complexities of Medicare. There are so many rules and regulations and pit falls. It is nice to know that there are professionals like you who work hard on our behalf. Thank You very much for your videos. They are very well done. Please leave your phone number on the screen so I can call and talk with one of your representatives. I'm really worried about how expensive these medigap plans will be in ten or twenty years. I can afford a Supplement plan now, but how much will they go up in the coming years? Is there any cap on how much they can raise their premiums? Lots to think about.

    You really are telling the truth I’ve retired disabled and I didn’t know any better and I wound up out of regular Medicare part A & B and no supplemental but they gave me a part C because it sounded good part C is the advantage. Advantage is horrible. Once you get in it you can’t get out. Here I am with a very bad back horribly in pain and the person that sold me the insurance knew that and there are no good surgeons in this Netwerk what can I do I’ve been shish cabobbed. That’s a rotten way to do business but you are telling the truth.

    Thank you so much for your videos, very informative and helpful. I am a single 47 yr old female and on SSDB since 2008, was covered under an employer plan which I am losing as of January 1, 2021. I have to enroll in Medicare for coverage beginning on 1/1/2021. Before watching your videos, I thought an Advantage plan would be my best option due to lower costs, out of pocket expense, need for prescription and dental coverage. Unfortunately, I chose a insurance plan that none of my physicians take (which is very important) and did not learn that until after the fact (as I had to enroll by Dec 7 and I was unaware there were going to be problems continuing medical coverage from the employer until last minute. The insurance company I enrolled in is extremely unorganized, still does not have the physician directory completed, mails conflicting and/or duplicate information, is under three different names/entities & impossible to get assistance with on the phone. This plan is from the Medicare site. After some calls around I was advised that I am able to change the plan, if I do it before Jan 1, 2021. So I am in an extreme time constraint. After learning more about what is available and the differences, I believe that Basic Medicare with Supplemental coverage is better regarding care/coverage. However, I do need to have a prescription plan and could definitely use dental benefits. However, when I calculate what the cost would be for the Part B premium, Supplemental plan, prescription plan and possible outside dental coverage. I can't see how there would be anyway I could possibly afford it. My income is strictly Social Security Disability Income, which is low income (under $23k annually, no other source of income, no financial assistance, retirement, savings, IRA'S, etc.) but I do not qualify for Medicaid, Additional Help with Prescription costs or Medicare Savings Program (which is what I have been told by Medicare, Social Security, DHHS straight out and told there isn't anything I could possibly be eligible for). I also contacted State Health Insurance Assistance Program several times, which did not provide any assistance to me. They wouldn't explain the differences of Advantage plans and Supplemental Plans as I was told they couldn't tell me what plan to choose and I simply wanted to understand them and how they worked as I am new to Medicare. Anyone I have spoken to asking about any financial assistance or if there is any other programs available for help, I was told no. I am a loss right now, have no idea what to do and have two days to change the coverage I had already enrolled in. If there is any guidance you could provide, I would be so unbelievably grateful.. I know this video was posted in 8/2019 and not sure you will see this comment, but I thought I'd try. Thanks so much.

After I turned 65, I got Medicare part A, but, I've never investigated getting any other parts in regular Medicare or other supplemental insurance plans because of my current employer-sponsored healthcare plan I'm on. I'm thinking about retiring next year, then I'll be 71, losing the insurance I currently have. Where do you suggest I go from there? Thank you.

    Thanks for so much information. Just getting ready to get on Medicare. I have medicaid though, so I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at. I think I may give you a call. Love your channel, I really need the assist. Still learning how to live on my own, been far too sheltered from life in the real world it seems.

      Thank you mss. Just an FYI, you cannot be on Medicaid and have a supplement at the same time. You do not need a supplement when actively on Medicaid.

      @@MedigapSeminars That makes sense. I still don't quite understand how they work together. If you've suggestions about a good place to look into that combination, I would appreciate it. God bless and thanks. Gonna pass on your vids to a friend of mine who may be able to use the supplemental.

    Brilliant and carefully delivered. Thank you. All very informative. There is indeed so much to digest/learn that I personally found that taking a break from your videos, doing a little research on my own, and then go back to watching your videos again, I am able to learn (pick up on) things that I missed initially and then apply that information to my understanding and research. I do have one question pertaining to this video. Is there an easy way to determine how long a company has been involved with Medicare and how to determine what their rating might be?

    • @MedigapSeminars
      @MedigapSeminars  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Kenny, thank you for your kind comments. Regarding your question; much of the information a consumer needs to determine which insurance company may be their best choice in Medicare supplement coverage is simply not available for free over the internet. But, no worries, our services are free to you and I have both the knowledge and experience to guide you.

    Thank You Matt all your videos are very informative. I am 64 and will be eligible for Medicare on April 1 2020. I will definitely reach out to you soon. One question I have that no one really seems to answer. If I don't have Plan D drug coverage does that mean there is no drug coverage at all through medicare?

    • @MedigapSeminars
      @MedigapSeminars  5 лет назад

      You can get Part D in one of two ways; either as a Stand-Alone Part D (which pairs with a supplement) or bundled with a Medicare Advantage PPO and HMO. They are both Part D. So the short answer is yes, you need Part D for prescription coverage.

    I thoroughly enjoyed your video (new subscriber) and thank you for making such a complicated issue more understandable. Last year, I applied for Medicare A & B at age 65 (while still employed), then canceled Part B and G (Aetna) at my employer's advice and re-applied for their coverage. This year I plan to retire and reinstate Part B; however, researching other options for Gap. My husband and I plan to travel the country during retirement and need a plan that will cover us outside of our home state (Michigan). Many travelers recommend Mutual of Omaha and Priority Health. What is your opinion of these companies in terms of nationwide coverage, premiums, and business ethics?

    • @MedigapSeminars
      @MedigapSeminars  5 лет назад +1

      I would not make the same decision that your friends made. I am not saying those are less than quality companies, but there are long-term price considerations to make as well. First, understand that ALL Medicare supplement plans offer National coverage, because Medicare offers National coverage. If you would like help in selecting a good insurance company that has stable prices, please feel free to contact us 800-847-9680 or submit this form and we will respond by email: medigapseminars.org/medicare-supplement-specialist-independent-medicare-insurance-broker/m-quote-request/

      In another life I ran a hedge fund advisory. Hedge funds just want the % return, typically looking to exit a new venture in 5-years or less. It may be good for them, but not for the policy holder.

      Yes, Private Equity invests for 3-5 year returns while Life Insurance companies invest for 20+ year returns. I am frustrated by what Private Equity did to Quicken.

    Is there a written ‘chart’ of all the various insurance plans, that show the side-by-side comparisons, so that one can make an informed choice based on what each plan does or does not offer/cover?

    Very informative, thank you. I'm in New York. My understanding is that If I wish to switch to another letter plan, I can do so at any time without medical underwriting. But are there are preexisting condition restrictions in such situations? If so are there any circumstances (again in NY) in which preexisting conditions are not restricted. Thanks again.

    • @MedigapSeminars
      @MedigapSeminars  5 лет назад +3

      This is my video on NY & CT ruclips.net/video/74K4cZIJpb8/видео.html The only thing you have to worry about is that you must hold on to your supplement plan for at least 6 months. If you do not have your supplement for six months, some insurance companies might enact a pre-existing condition clause.

I called your office last week and the lady took my email and phone number and said someone would call me. I just need some good advice on the Plan I should take as I cannot continue with my employer's COBRA HSA insurance at the end of March. No one has yet contacted me from your office. I signed up for original Medicare with Part B.

    The point of being medically necessary is very important. It's awkward to always have cost on your mind during a medical emergency and I surely would think the doctor is doing what's medically necessary for health but medicare gets the final say. Also billing dept can also enter wrong code so it's necessary to be alert when bills come in. Thank you for laying out facts!
