It is amazing that God chooses to use those of us who follow Christ (the Church) to spread the news of forgiveness and reconciliation with the lost. I must confess that the Church hasn't always communicated the love of Christ effectively ... but I want to. Please be patient with me as I learn to love God and love people.
This was a good startup video for those who are new to the church, Christianity, and the Holy Bible. For those of us who's viewed this video (and anything else were a comment can be added), why would you automatically jump to a negative response? It's so easy for people to accept sin and negative things. Why not switch our thinking on a daily basis to positive thinking?

Through being saved, good works come out by themselves so that once again HE (Yahweh) is glorified. Any good work that comes out of us if because of him. His glory, his salvation, his perfect work.
Since we believe that the Holy Spirit is alive and present with us, then God is still speaking. We can choose to participate in what God is now doing in the world if we have ears to listen and courage to act.

Yes, Christ is the head of the church, and HE should be the focus. Here's an example. At my church, our written motto is "All about Jesus". Conversely, there is a church a few miles from here, and they literally tell people all the time that "it's all about YOU!" How sick. I've been there twice. The pre-service pep talk guy gets up and says that.
The Church is you if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. He is the head and we are the body. We share His gospel. We hold to THE faith that He taught and gave His apostles. We come together to hear the Word of God and to love and encourage one another in THE faith. It is not about programs and activities. We pray for others and spread the good news! When one member hurts...we all hurt and come alongside to lift that member up. Bearing one another's burdens.
We are all children of God and therefore our propensity to "sin" cannot be blamed on ourselves. The mysteries of the spirit are deep but we won't understand them by fixating on a point in history 2000 years ago or believing we are born into sin. We are born beautiful, thanks to God. (whatever he, she or it is)

Christ is the head of the church but it takes more than just the head to make anything come to life. You personalty as taught by Christ need to seek oneness which is the alignment of spirit, body, and soul which is your trinity. Like many other Calvary Chapels, we fuel up at church on the Word and refresh contacts and needs...then go out as individuals to minister in our little worlds. We do bring strangers into church, but our primary aim is to bring them to Christ by walking the life as a believer who serves others as unto God.

Let me clarify.. I wasn't a kid when I joined the Church. I was 20 when I joined, I am now 34. They do lead a good life compared to the people I know. Enforcing their religion? Doubt it. They do offer them a chance to lead a good life and the ultimate choice is yours. They do ask you to try asking God to take His words for it, not theirs. Don't take my word for it. Why bother looking down to those who are happier than you? Should you be looking up and be grateful that they're happy?

When we think of the church, we tend to think of it as buildings and programs. However, the real, true church is people-all interconnected to one another while being intertwined with Christ as LORD. When we get this, that Christ is eminent and He reconciles us to Him, we can start to see how important our commitment to honor Christ and His percepts are. We were enemies to God; damned for eternity with no hope or plan; now with Christ, we have salvation, assurance, and an eternity of hope. Perhaps, we can start to rebuild our churches, turning them in a godly direction of making disciples and giving Him Glory. It is about His fullness in us. It is to be our passion and directive to lead other Christians to grow in Him, into His way and away from false perceptions. All Christians and especially Christian leaders need a desire to see their church committed to His purpose and poured out to His ways. When we are proclaiming Christ as Lord, then we will see revival through real prayer and devotion to His Lordship. By allowing His work in us, being "spirit spilled" rather than just "spirit filled", living in His presence, being a doer of the Word, standing firm in our faith and teachings, and never drifting away from His truth, His precepts, or His love, revival will come.

We were enemies to God; damned for eternity with no hope or plan; now with Christ, we have salvation, assurance, and an eternity of hope. Perhaps, we can start to rebuild our churches, turning them in a godly direction of making disciples and giving Him Glory. It is about His fullness in us. It is to be our passion and directive to lead other Christians to grow in Him, into His way and away from false perceptions. All Christians and especially Christian leaders need a desire to see their church committed to His purpose and poured out to His ways. When we are proclaiming Christ as Lord, then we will see revival through real prayer and devotion to His Lordship. By allowing His work in us, being "spirit spilled" rather than just "spirit filled", living in His presence, being a doer of the Word, standing firm in our faith and teachings, and never drifting away from His truth, His precepts, or His love, revival will come.

Zimmerman's definition of the Church is most accurate in accordance with the Holy Scriptures. Today, unfortunately, many are attempting to transform it into a Social Club. However, what people do not understand is that the True Church has not changed and will never change, The way it was in Acts chapter 2, is the way it will remain (Daniel 2:44 and Matthew 16:18). There are those who consider themselves to be the Church, but are not (scripturally speaking). The Lord's Church is not a denomination. This concept was suggested by the Apostle Peter, but the Most High God rejected it (Matthew 17:1-5)... and then certain men in the New Testament Church sought to promote the denominational concept, but the Apostle Paul corrected their attempt to do so (1st Corinthians 1:10-18). According to the Holy Scriptures, The Church is the spiritual Body of Christ (Colossians 1:18) and he is the only leader and head of it. When we attempt to elevate men as leaders and heads in the Lord's Church, then we elevate men as being equal to Christ. Christ is the only leader and head... all else are servants of God.
@DetoxMansion Yeah, that's a major problem with the Church.....We're "acting" like the Church on Sundays, but when it matters, we show our true selves: sinful humans in need of Jesus. We're all in the same boat, but it seems like the Church is missing the mark with this.
DetoxMansion, I am truly sorry that you had to go through those experiences, and I hope that you don't give up on the Church entirely. I'll be praying that you'll find a church that really is the Church =]

the word 'church' comes from the latin 'ekklesia' which means a group of people gathered as one (to serve God).. so yes, we are the church! we are the walls of the building with Christ as the cornerstone. :)

I found two stones today and I asked these stones do you want to be a church and they said "no we want to be part of the structure of life". Why I asked, and the stones answered "GOD is not a church GOD is everything and everywhere, bad people have tried to use the church to control people". Everyone should know that even stones were created by GOD.

Good video, thank you. According to the Bible a church is a group of Christians. Plural, not singular. Each sharing their unique God-given gifts with others. Jesus Christ is the head of the Church.
