Carding: Next, the fibers undergo carding, where they are aligned and straightened to form a continuous web or sliver. Carding machines have rollers covered in wire teeth that comb and align the fibers in the same direction.
Drawing: The drawn sliver is then passed through drawing frames, which further elongate and refine the fibers. Multiple slivers are often combined during this process to ensure uniformity in the yarn.
Rotor Spinning: The drawn sliver is fed into the rotor spinning machine. In this machine, the fibers are drafted and twisted simultaneously to form yarn. A rotating rotor within the machine pulls the fibers from the sliver, twists them, and then wraps them around a core yarn or into a yarn package.
Winding: Once the yarn is spun, it is wound onto bobbins or cones for further processing or storage. Automatic winding machines are commonly used for this purpose, ensuring uniform winding tension and package formation.
Yarn Treatment: Depending on the desired characteristics of the yarn, additional treatments may be applied. This can include processes such as sizing, lubrication, or dyeing to improve yarn strength, smoothness, or color.
Quality Control: Throughout the manufacturing process, quality control measures are implemented to ensure the yarn meets the desired specifications. This includes monitoring parameters such as yarn count, twist level, and evenness.
Packaging and Storage: Finally, the finished yarn packages are labeled, packaged, and stored for distribution to textile manufacturers or other end users.
