Nothing wrong with your setup at all because it works for you but I fish from the bank to and I use BIG BAITS. I'll take a shad and cut 4-5 pieces with the gut pocket intact. When you want them 30lb+ fish that's the way to go.

When I was a kid my pops and I use to fish the Mississippi River hear in Arkansas an he use to save money by grabbing used spark plugs an using them as weights especially when fishing the rocks helps to keep from getting snag up as much too

Love watching your videos. I'm going to try some of your techniques I have a couple of questions please how long is your rod I say 6 feet my husband says 7 and what pound test line do you use. Presently I use 10# test but I doubt if I could land any of those 20+ pounders you land.

Good video. U need too pour your own sinkers. Growing up we used a old spoon . Heat your lead up. Pour some in spoon. Let it set up 20 seconds. Drop it in water too cool. Drill a hole in it. Clean the hole up so dont cut your line. Then u have a no roll sinkers. That was before i ever got a sinker mold.
Cornelius, only big channel cats and small flatheads here in central and south Jersey. Monster flatheads way up in North Jersey around Delaware water Gap.
I use those copper bells on the end of my rods. Do you use those? I use them because I don’t like watching my rods all the time I’m fishing. So if I’m not paying attention to my rods, and a catfish hit the bait, the bell will tingle, which will get my attention. I fish with four poles when I fish. Just wanted you to know that those bells comes in handy.
