Great to be able to watch these videos while on lockdown, the weather reminds me of 4 years ago when I camped in Wicklow mountains Ireland in mid Feb......lots of torrential rain, I woke up to find myself floating in my air mattress, the river had burst its banks and our camping area flooded.........can't forget adventures like that......keep the videos coming Abbie, I'm sure you have plenty in the archive.
Wonderful film. Two brave ladies. Fantastic adventure, wild and woolley landscape. Shame about the atrocious weather. Thank for taking me along. At least I was dry and warm which is oh so different to you two.
Nice video. Getting lost and dealing with adverse weather conditions, is all part of hiking and at times, can really put one's skills and determination to the test. Your video also gives a timely reminder of just how dangerous Dartmoor can become when the wet weather sets in with flash floods etc (there's a reason the British Army train on the moor). Glad you safely made it to the bunk-house for a dry night's kip. Some nice footage of the landscape of the moor.
Thank you for showing how moorland walking can really be, and not just either fine weather, strong bravado type walkers, or 'everything is Fine's. It is really valuable to show changes of plan, following features, getting off the movies safely, and enjoying a road walk option rather than considering it a failure.
What an adventure! The terrain is fascinating to me as it is totally different from what I am used to. These videos are a huge help with what to expect when I return to the UK for some hiking adventures. :-)
Wow Abbie! What a great adventure! I loved this vid. Love the wild weather! I remember getting lost on the moors - in a car in the fog! I must have been about 6. I have only recently found your channel and love your videos. And you are such a beautiful person and great inspiration. I am surprised you haven been snapped up by a tv channel to promote the beauty of the country, and how to be an overcomer. I was born in the UK but moved to Australia just before my 10th birthday way back in the 60’s. I love bushwalking here and also just ‘across the ditch’ in New Zealand. If you ever have the opportunity you need to visit down under. Australia is beautiful! And New Zealand exquisite!! Stay wild! x
On my doorstep, I’ve lost count of the times I’ve trekked that route across the moor. Very wise decision to get off the moor in that weather as it gets worse very quickly as you know. I’ve never stayed at Harford looks cool.
I need to get wild!!!!! Loving your singing at the start Abbie - a bit more of that in your vid's would be great and your doggo's! Stay safe (and wild) xx
Even the best laid plans sometimes go awry. Well done for coming off in one piece. Also, well done for using the word 'precipitation' instead of using the 'R' word.
Wow, someone was up late, or early depending on one’s time zone. 😋 Thank you for putting this together for us, something to explore while mandated indoors. 🌳🙏🏻🌳
Let it be known to all gathered here that on this day of March 30, 2020 Abbie and Anne are hereby awarded one thumbs up each for hiking Dartmoor when it was under water. To Abbie: 👍 To Anne: 👍 Thank you for your bravery.
Great video, I could almost feel the warm soggy socks in my boots and the rain against my face as I watched, I hope that people appreciate being out in the beautilful wild places of britain once this maddness is over, thanks for posting and inspiring us to spend more time in the wild, I for one definitely will.
WOW is right when seeing that river rushing on by! Love the sight AND the sound! So happy to have these videos to watch while staying isolated! Thanks for that! Hope you are well!!! 🙋🏻♀️🙏
Came to this video for inspiration. I am about to head out for an over-nighter on the Appalachian Trail, with the forecast calling for two days of rain. Hope I can keep my attitude as good as Abbie and Ann's. Sometimes I think if I didn't have bad luck, I would have no luck at all.
I spend a week horseback riding in Dartmoor, based at Foxworthy Stables.. wondering if it is still there? One of my most memorable experiences being in that area. Thanks for the video!
I think we were out leading some Ten Tors training on the second day of your walk. Judging by when the snow fell, you missed our group by about 15 or 20 minutes as we had just walked up over the railway bridge following the Two Moors Way. We got hit by a blizzard just past Stowford Moorgate, it was a Saturday at about 8.45am. We also visited the Clapper Bridge (twice because we couldn't cross higher up between Ryders Hill and Redlake Tip) and then like you followed the Two Moors Way back to Ivybridge along the Puffing Billy track.
Hi abbey. I was there on the moors that weak walking from ivybridge, camped out in that weather, not pleasant at all. Abandoned spent 3 days princetown Bank House. Loving the vids ❤️
Nice video. Makes me feel sad that in the middle of February I was on the top of Snowdon followed by a couple of weeks later doing the horseshoe at Pen Y Fan. And now we’re all locked indoors, missing the outdoor adventures a huge amount at the moment. Thanks that you fabulous videos allow us to see the amazing sights still. Great work Abbie
Imn so lucky to live just on the edge of dartmoor, a few mins away from avon dam, and watching this gets me buzzing, as soon as this lockdown is over im going straight up to either venford or avon and taking a very long hike! thanks abbie!
Great video, Abbie. This is one of my local parts of Dartmoor and I know it fairly well but I can comfortably say I've not experienced conditions as bad as those before. The worst I had was mist and drizzle (minus the wind) along the Two Moors Way between Ivybridge and Hexworthy a few years back. I hope you and Anne return in better weather to see the artefacts and views!
I am sitting in Exeter watching this video, Dartmoor is so close yet so far now... Can't wait to go back out there do some cooking and make coffee in the wild...
Hold up! Never knew I needed hiking AND singing content in one, yet here we are! The little song at the start was lit! Yaas! :D Thanks for this Abbie. This home quarantine thing has me realising that I miss even shitty weather outdoors. Can't wait to go out adventuring in the sunshine and rain again. :) Until then, i'm quite contented with all these walking vids for now. Keep safe everyone!
It’s funny isn’t it, right now we’d welcome getting out into horrible bogging wet weather! Doubly so for me because I’m on crutches due to a knee problem - this too like the lockdown, will pass. The tramway was like that when we walked it on the TMW, it seems it forms a natural water course after rain. We spent quite a while hopping from one side to the other trying to keep our feet dry! Given the current situation stay safe in there!
Hi Abbie, The song you sing to your dog it's a your own personal blues improvisation or a particular song? This remind me someting...In any case a wonderful blues voice. Thank You
Good video Abbie, It just goes to show how quick the weather can turn in the UK. Did you know that your sub titles say that your plan c was to drop down off the moors and head to half a drug house? Lol 🙂 Anyway Abbie, stay safe just now during the lock down. Atb Glenn.

A great adventure proving not everything goes quite to plan, and when it doesn't go to plan things can be just as exciting
I love Ann's cute little travelling companions 😄
Right now, spending a night out on Dartmoor, whatever the weather, seems like paradise!
Abbie and Ann SO brave to be out in the WILD You never give up just change plans
ah, mid-February when life was normal.
What an adventure! The terrain is fascinating to me as it is totally different from what I am used to. These videos are a huge help with what to expect when I return to the UK for some hiking adventures. :-)

I always enjoy your videos. The landscape in your part of the world is so different from where I live...it's like taking a trip. Thank you.

How great to see Ann again! Great to know you stayed in touch since the two moors way.
That weather is like our summer weather right now! The rain won't stop. Nothing wrong with a Plan B if it keeps you safe for another future adventure.
Wonderful singing voice, Abbie! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Thanks Abbie - just what I needed in self isolation. So happy. Stay Wild :)

Definitely an interesting walk! Thanks for showing!
🙃👌super, widzę nową czapkę na głowie. 😊👍
Great film.
April 2020 - Coronavirus and the need to go hiking brought me here!!!!!!
It's actually quite nice to see how rough the countryside can get! Hope you're keeping safe and well. Cheers from NZ :)
A walk to do once we can go on the moors again. Love Bobby and Penny
Here I am living in Devon and looking at the cracks in the dry soil in the garden, just one month later.
Loved it
D i d parts of your hike 2 year's ago from Princetown to Ivybridge via bunk house / camping ground...
You did well to maintain good humour.
0:20 😲 sounds good!

Great video Abbie felt like it was first time I’ve been outside for a long time 😂
new GG pack and trail runners! We will make a lightweight hiker out of you yet! LOL carry on.
Aaaah, this is my weather, I love that
Great video as ever, and with bits I recognise!! You were that close, you could have stopped in for a cup of tea! :-D
And a chat of a couple of days ?? With notebooks etc. :)
Do you plan on doing a review on the mariposa pack? Might be possible even with the lockdown 🙂
Ive done that very same walk on one of the hottest days we had in 2017.....it killed me but was so worth it Diesel Dave
I love your intro music. Who is it? Would love to get it to chill to.
Brilliant British spirit lol.
Hi Abbie, The song you sing to your dog it's a your own personal blues improvisation or a particular song? This remind me someting...In any case a wonderful blues voice. Thank You
"Sing me the blue,baby...cause Abbie got the blues, baby..." Ooh yeah! Speaking about moral boost: So are you, guys!
How are you coping with this staying at home Abbie as you are such an outdoors person? I miss my grandchildren so much.
Great video. Stay safe.
I know your channels about getting outdoors, but your bluesy little bit of singing at the start 😲 I had to stop and watch that back again
Abbieyoncé! 🙂👍
Reminds us of very wet days we have had on Dartmoor it’s not all sunshine, will be up on the moor soon

Why didn't you wear gaiters?
