"Traditionally"? That's funny. Traditionally it is written in Japanese kanji or hiragana, not Roman alphabet. It might sound more like "oss" to our ears, but the correct romanization of the original Japanese spelling is "Osu". I think I should know this, because I've lived in Japan and trained in Kyokushin here for over ten years. OSU!
@Haywood2 It is taught in kyokushin but you don't see it too much in the videos because they use the more practical kicks and leaving yourself quite vulnerable if you are on your side
Es como si el maestro fuera una especie de lider militar, no tienen armas, pero tienen muchos guerreros, estoy seguro que esos hombres podrían enfrentar a puño limpio a cualquier ejercito de cualquier pais
@Courvousier Kata's is made to practice your accuracy, as my sensei says: you hit 1 million times, then you know how to punch. Now, you hit another 1 million times, to hit for perfection.
No le daré explicación referente a lo anterior ya que usted lo considera irrelevante, pero tanto yo como mi hijo hacemos kyokushinkai, yo soy tercer dan, y usted con su política me ha demostrado que de lo que más carece es de humildad, cierro el tema aquí.
it is spelled osu, it is pronounced as either ous or oss this is commonly used in kempo, tkd, karate however in kyokushin osu is an mandatory word to put in your sentence..
The contraction: Osu!, is:" Ohayo Gozaimashtá!", which is only said when students are training @530a.m..and express courtesy to the masters. Students are said to be "on the way". Regards
OSU! I have a question what is the purpose of practicing in stance like that at 2:30 and about 2:40. I see a lot of karateka do it and maybe only see application of it if someone attacks you and you dont have time for a guard or does it build something else cuz at my dojo we never did it just wondering.
@pastropmal sosai spoke to japanese branch chief(shibucho).'among all the fighting arts, karate is the strongest of all,and kyokushin is the no.1 strongest karate.!' that was sosai belief until he passed away.
Them guys are blessed to get to train with the man himself. OSU!
Oyama was a great martial artist. To bad i wasnt in his time to mess with him. To bad at the end death will beat us all. R.i.p
FYI, this is the guy that capcom was inspired by which resulted in creating Ryu from Street Fighter.
And also, I'm pretty sure, Doppo Orochi from the Grappler Baki anime/manga. That one is even more obvious!
Dojokun.
