I've always wondered why this kind of cleaning is done on a flat smooth floor. Wouldn't a perforated floor or mesh floor allow dirty water to escape more quickly and take the dirt and grime away immediately? With a flat smooth floor, the bottom side of the rug just sits and soaks in filthy wash water while the top side is being cleaned. Everyone seems to do it this way. I have to assume that someone somewhere has tried a mesh floor and decided that the current way is better, or else everyone would have switched by now. What is it that I'm not considering? Either way, the results you get look great!

How are they going to roll the detergent in with a grated or mesh floor? How are they going to squeegee it? They are constantly standing on it. It's a massive extra expense for what? They clean both sides and it gets pressed and spun. Don't understand how your way Is any better

I think you could accomplish both aspects of what you both mentioned by having a smooth flat floor for them to walk on a squeegee, but have it slightly raked like a shower floor and have narrow channels about 1/8" in width and 2-3" deep to facilitate drainage.

There are some cleaners who use mashflooring. Advanced Ckeaning Systems have a grated floor😊
