I am literally batshit crazy for those sustainiac pickups!!!!... As soon as the boss(wife) blinks, I'm getting one of these....
Nice demo. That is a very sharp guitar. I get the active pickups need the batteries but I suck at battery management. Like my iPhone is always dea.....
lmao
awesome, lol!
@Just Some guy someone missed the joke...
@@juliprato People legit complain about batteries in active pickup guitars though... because they don't know how to unplug the cable when they aren't playing I guess.
@@richardg5301 dude, it was a joke.
What a sweet ride for only $800. Great tones and amazing fit and finish. Another example of why companies like Gibson are struggling. Why spend $3000 to "play authentic" when you can blow the windows out for 800 bones. Great demo as always.
Yea I love riding on my guitars they're the best form of transport in my opinion
@@theguitarninja5861 far better than riding a broom
$2000 in australia
Try a Gibson and then this plastic thing and we talk again
@@cesarurbani2294 I’ve played both. It’s all personal. This is like saying “watch the new multi billion dollar superhero film, and then we’ll talk about whether or not your cheaply made Reservoir Dogs was s good movie.”
Budget is budget. The enjoyment of the product is what counts, unless a person is the kind that thinks the more money the spend somehow makes them compensate in their life.
Schecter and Jackson are producing some of the BEST mid-range guitars in the World right now
Yooo felt this.. I was die hard schecter until I saw two different Jackson guitars for affordable prices
And they are beautiful
Absolutely no doubt about that. I went to a guitar store to buy a charvel or Jackson. Ended up buying two Schecters
@@khalilhabib9607 Looool I don't blame you haha
I have a mid-range Jackson and can totally relate to that. It's totally impressive for the price point. And it's totally not the look you'd expect from Jackson.
Great demo, you had a great tone, imo. I love my Schecter Omen, and am really considering getting one of these, and thank you for putting a good dive or two in there with the trem. Sounded like it recovered about perfectly.
Hi Max!
Just want to thank you for the great work you do with your videos....
Yesterday i got my Sun Valley...
I discovered it from this video!
Thanks a lot again!
Lovely mix, guitar and demonstration! Thanks for sharing brother! Be Well Max!
Well done!
Dude, that guitar sounds incredible; I could listen to you playing it all day! Nice one man; thanks!
I love that blue combined with black. Looks great.
Hi Max! That thing sounds crazy!!! Nothing short of awesome to say the least. I think a complete package like that for that kind of money is great value. I'd go for the tele style. love the color to. Take care Max from your pal Helcat in Australia.
I particularly liked the soulful playing you did early in the video to highlight the guitar's versatility. Thanks as that will be a selling point for me as I am considering buying the Tele style model with the same hardware.
Thanks for this video. I have been very curious about this guitar and the pickups for a while now. This is a super useful review video. Awesome man! 👍
That “light” touch is absolute MAGIC!
I finally got mine except in surf green, maple board and no sustained. I love it. Can't get over the pickups. They do what they claim they will do.
Very sweet playing to open the video today. Clean hauntingly beautiful tones..
Thanks!
I'm fairly new to your channel, but when I saw this video I had to check it out. I'm glad I did because I am at this very moment (June 12, 2022, 7:29 am) waiting for the FedEx truck to pull up outside. On that truck is my Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder with Sustainiac & Floyd Rose (I have, currently, 8 guitars counting the Schecter, and all of em have Floyds; the FR is literally like an instrument in its own right), but mine is the white body with black hardware and pickguard.
I'm gonna love this thing. Watching your demo in this video confirmed my intuition that I needed one of these guitars. I bought it sight unseen, and by all the gods both sacred & profane,it was the right choice.
Thanks for the review Max, I was looking at the Seafoam Green one myself.
Love your t-shirt. Words to live by! Also great guitar, definitely underrated.
I have the 1st Gen version of this guitar from 2017 in Seafoam Green, mine has 2 of the EMG hot 70s (no sustainiac) and I absolutely love it! For $630 brand new, you can’t beat the value, I’m especially impressed with the Floyd on this guitar, it’s one of the best I’ve played, just an amazing value. I’ve got a demo of mine on my channel if anyone is interested. Thanks Max, great stuff as always! Keep up the great work my man!
I have birch green color version, floyd rose surprisingly stays in tune two months after initial setup, emg bridge pickup is awesome, and yes, it's noticeably heavier than your typical non-mahogany superstrat
I only 0lay Schecter these days. They knock it out of the park. Also, love that they upgrade the floyd with stainless bolts. They wont strip! Great review. New subscriber!
Man I really want one of these, should I treat myself this Christmas?
Great video dude
Great guitar! I have the non-sustainer version in matt black. Amazing neck and quality throughout. May have to get the sustainer version too!
Nice video. I have one on order coming in here in a few days. Can't wait to play with that Sustainiac!
It rocks!
Purchased one myself, I'm glad for your review!
Sounds great Max. I have a Super Shredder without the Sustaniac setup, in Lambo Orange. I love it.
i love the pronounced notes it has, instead of twanging or fret sounds...
I just Lucked into a sustainer like this one... just got it and I'm excited about playing and recording now!
Great video as always Max, does sound really nice. :)
Recently bought a Schecter C-1 SRS Elite floyd Rose and Sustainiac, and omg i love it, it has allowed me to be more expressive on the guitar...
Ha man... great job showing me more about the guitar I just bought from Sweetwater. You have convinced me that I made a wise choice my friend. Love your playing too. Now I have to wait 5 or 6 tough days till it arrives. You've made wait even harder now....in a good way. Thank you for your work, you are awesome. God bless you.
Did you get it bro?
LOL I GOT IT TOO but i gotta wait
Thanks, was looking at one of these and pulled the trigger because of your review!
I think you'll love it!
Nice tones bro. Miss our hangs and chats 👍
Nice Guitar. Coming through a 50w Head w/ 2 12” spkrs; that’s a 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥, because the active pickup, 86’s a “overdrive or distortion pedal”; leaving everything as gain control, on your guitar. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Schecter!!!
Great review and REALLY cool guitar!! thanks!
Thanks for a great review. I just ordered this same model.
Nice. I had to build my 24 fret super strat. Mine has a kahler, and ive been thinking of routing out for a neck pickup. I wish harley benton had a 24 fret strat with same features and with roasted maple neck. I seen your video on that btw. I looked but didnt see what i was looking for from harley benton. Nice video and playing thanks
Awesome guitar and playing bro and cool t shirt as well 🎸👌
Schecter obviously makes some great guitars. I've owned a Demon 6 for a few years now and it's simply awesome 🎸👍
I love these guitars, they're a great cheaper alternative to their Charvel counterparts, the only area I wish they'd have done different is the pickups, I'm not a real big fan of those EMG retroactives, the passive Schecter Diamond Decimators that they put in their Reaper series sound so much better imo
I’m a new Schecter convert. Started with the Nick Johnston Strat, then Reaper 6 hardtail, and just bought a Super Shredder yesterday! AWESOME guitars at ANY price point!
Love the guitar. I’m pretty sure it’s my next guitar. I really don’t like the color though. Hope it comes in others. Thank you so much for showing us it. You really brought out the true features of the guitar 👍🏻
I love that color. And it comes in a lefty 👍.... I'm wanting to get one.
Hopefully pretty soon..
Thanks for the great review..
Amazing review, great sound and of course as always great playing. I only wish it were in my budget.
I can hear when you use the sustainer.
Great reviwe, thanks for sharing it with us, pretty facinating guitar with the pickups and sustain functionality. The colour is very good, I like it. I suppose that the 9V bricks are a little bit of a downer, but it's more than worth it for the functionality, afterall, without them there'd be no power for the sustain.
I have the maple neck non sustaniac version that I got for about $600. It is one amazing guitar, Neck, frets and pick ups are just perfect.
Hi Max, ur channel is great, u r an awesome guitarist. Its a pleasure to listen to u playing and talking.
U already talked abt Burny and Schecter sustain guitars.
Can u test the Fender Eob and give us ur opinion abt them and ur favorite one.?
Thx a lot
Sounds Awsome ! Maybe you can make an video about these kind of PU and the inner electric.
Thanks Max! New sub here! I just ordered the very same guitar today, I can’t wait to get it!!!! Cool channel man!
Welcome aboard! Thank you!
Just ordered one, thanks!
great review, thinking about getting one myself
Great review! Great sound, look and well, feel. It sure looks like feels great. I love the 14" radius, but just do NOT like active pickups because of what Max said about the batteries. I have an Ovation VXT and don't play it as much as my LP or Strat, mainly because of the battery for the 2 active SD humbuckers. It sounds as good as my LP deluxe (no kidding!) and much lighter, but the LP neck is so sweet!
ordered one today,,,,the guitar has great attack, cant wait to sit and use the sustainer for about 12 hours straight,,,,lol great video too,,,thanks MAX new sub
I've had the white version for about a year now. The battery actually lasts a very long time if you keep the line jack unplugged when not in use. Hardly ever change the batteries.
I couple the crazy harmonics sustain of the Schecter with a Freq-Out pedal from Digitech to get insane feedback sounds. :)
Do you have a string slipping problem? Cause mine occasionally slipping
Are we talking cheap stuff or top range lithium.
That's a cool guitar for only $799. Excellent demo as usual!
I got the flat black one but the neck was bad and the pickup selector didn't work. So I sent it back and got the blue one. Amazing guitar.
You took the Sustainiac in a direction that I always imagined it being it's best utilization...here is what I mean: I've seen a lot of videos using the Sustainiac in hard driven distortion applications...applications where you can already get long sustained notes even without using it...but playing clean tones, we all know getting those notes to carry out indefinitely is a tough task to pull off unless you are playing super loud...the Sustainiac is, IMO, the ultimate solution to that issue... you can play clean, and still sustain out notes that you want to sing out for a long time....and then on top of that utilize the octave switch to get upper harmonics on demand...don't get me wrong, I love the whole Sustainiac utilization in high gain applications, but using it in a clean tone setting I think maybe an application some may overlook or not consider...thanks for posting this one, and trusting you and yours are doing great today.
Nice review , great guitar !
Those are some nice...tasty tones and licks.
i recently got one for $699. a demo model. it's a crazy value for what you get and the sounds you can produce.
That's awesome i have been eye balling those forever and thinking it's the cheepest end of a sustainiac... But that's pretty bad ass
That's a sweet sounding and looking guitar. I want a Schecter or a Wolf for my next axe.
I wish EVH would release a wolfgang with a sustainer. I know alotta people are not fans of EVH music from that period, but that combo is amazing.
That is the best sounding guitar ive heard on this channel yet
The SVSS is a favorite of mine. Costs $1250, sure, but for what you pay, just like this guitar, you get a lot. Wenge, Black Limba, Ebony, the works. It’s got it all.
This guitar is awesome had one for a couple of months now use it with my headrest pedal board amazing, it does eat up batteries when using the sustainiac but its worth it
As a finger picker, using as much flesh to soften the attack as I can, this "Sun Valley" was sweet to my ears, GM. Listening fatigue is very crucial to my listening pleasure. And you did a good job and brought a smile. Merry Christmas, GM!
Yeah I'm about to buy this guitar I was debating on the charvel San dimas or so cal or this one but u cant beat this one. I wanted to buy this onw a month ago but I got the Phil demmel demmelition.
Fantastic guitar. $800 a bit much for my budget. thanks so much for showing it. Love your budget friendly guitar vids of guitars we didn't even know existed,. thank you Max your awesome👍🍺
Reverb dot com has some brand new "B" stock models for as low as $639.00. There is also the "make an offer" option, so you may be able to negotiate one for less than that!
@@crazeyjoe yeah for those prices you can get serious brand name gear. No ty.
I hear that. You gotta consider resale value, as well...Still, $800 is not completely unattainable, and you're getting a lot, at that price.
@@elymolloy8333 not with the same hardware you won't.
zzounds has it new for 650 now
Its shockingly beautiful.
Freaaaaaaaaakaing beautiful guitar
My next wedding gig guitar for sure , maybe the green version
Thanks a lot ....one more to add to my list .
Never had a bad Schecter. They're almost always better than anything in the same price range. Even they're semi-hollow and Hollow Bodies (Coupe and Corsair) are great alternatives to MUCH higher priced guitars (Gretsch and ES-335).
I just bought that same guitar. Three weeks ago same price and I LOVE IT! He reviewed it perfectly! It’s such a sweet guitar and with the sub stainer pickup it’s so much FUN to play get it you won’t be disappointed!
ThePistol7777 how do you rate the EMG hot 70 as I’m looking at a guitar with this pick up in and I just wanted to some reviews on it.Cheers
Well,if you want a FAT warm sound this pickup is for you. Clean or w/distortion it’s really awesome. If you had a guitar and you only had one humbucker pickup this not a bad pick.i haven’t swapped my out I love it. Hope this helps mate🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
ThePistol7777 can you play modern metal on it or is it only suites for rock/80s metal.?.Are these anywhere near as good as fishman fluences at all?.Cheers pal
You can play any type of metal with them. It has a big crunchy sound but not harsh. Well I never played with fishmans (too expensive) but I don’t think it’s much of a difference I would take the cheaper pickup. I think the amp is the main factor if you got a great amp different pickups even cheap ones will sound good. Rock on
Bro.
Underrated channel! Great videos!
Thanks Fabio!
Right? I love this channel.
This guitar sorta reminds me of the fernandes apg 85s. Super rare guitar, but if you could get your hands on one I’d recommend recording a demo with it, show the sustainer and raw distorted tones.
The beginning was great!! Sharp but not for me. Ummm a review on the V hanging on the left??? Have a great weekend!
I have had that same guitar for a little over a year. The first one that they shipped me had a warped neck. I brought it to a luthier to confirm and he wrote me a message for Schecter. The tech at Schecter didn't believe me about the neck and made me pay 75.00 bucks to send it back. Once he got it back, he agreed and sent me a new guitar, but I was still out the 75.00 and the 50.00 bucks for the luthier so Iam not totally happy with Schecter but still love the guitar. The second one was the charm. Overall, I would look for another brand that has the same electronics elsewhere. Gary
Love to know how you feel this guitar compares to the higher end Harley Benton fusions and such. Of course it has different features but tossing up between something like this second hand or a new HB or Squier Contemporary.
Those are very good guitars! Great demo! The only problem on a Schecter is the re-sale?
The only thing I'd worry about is the Floyd Rose Special instead of at least a 1000 series Floyd Rose
The trem on that is solid. There is no need to worry about that at all.
I prefer to block the Floyd Rose so the bar only goes down. Way less of a pain
The string still slipped occasionally tho, mine have this problem, i was thinking to upgrade to a floyd rose original
I have this exact guitar and havent experienced any tuning problems. Guitar stays in tune so well. The tunning pegs though, is not as smooth as my Jeff Loomis Floyd.
@@zoso6826 yeah i remember strings slipping on the Special. Just upgrading the whole bridge is better in the long run tbh.
I think it sounds great. I would love to get one of these. Some of my favorite bands use sustainer to get killer keyboard and drone guitar sounds, Katatonia comes to mind.
Was gonna buy Charvel Satchel model, could almost buy 2 of these for about the same price. Same but different of course.
I have the black one with the maple neck. James Young of Styx has used a Sustainer in his guitars since the 1980s and you can really hear it on "Blue Collar Man" by Styx. Its a _really_ fun guitar to play and the Floyd Rose is very good because they upgraded the parts to it. It's not the traditional Floyd Rose "special". Its a special Floyd Rose if you get what I mean. The neck is *perfect* for me. Absolutely fits my fist like an expensive glove and feels really, really nice in my hand. As far as unplugging it to save battery life, that's not really an issue for me at least, I use rechargeable batteries. I absolutely love this guitar and if it were lost or stolen I would replace it without hesitation. The ONLY thing I would change on it would be the shape of the head stock, not the current one is bad, just that its sort of bland looking. But if you're looking for an Axe that is just silly fun to play to the point it gives you the giggles and sounds fantastic, you can't beat the Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder.
Riviera Blue is a real nice color. I kind of like the Burch green. Got the idea from Jackson from Phil's guitar. Def Leppard
Great information, as allways I just got one it's shipping as I write this what a great value and I love the 80 metal I can do vh, dockken ect..as far as batteries no big deal get two back ups keep in your case .
Wow! Love it.
the EMG Retros are one the finest pickups imo, they run a close second to the Seymour JB...
Sold! Im buying one.
Sweet sounding guitar, what happens if the batteries fade and die in the middle of a set and you have no extra batteries (serious question), love the teal color, but definitely loved the floyd rose special, installing two onto two of my guitars.
People need to seriously check out the Schecter line of SVSS guitars! Amazing tone, perfect feel and necks that feel custom made!
Hey man really nice demo, you really made this guitar sing. Btw do you remember what amp were you using in this one? Thanks
Sudstaniacs are Wicked sounding. I tried the tele version of that Awesome
That clean tone almost sold me.. im not into floyd rose bridges though. And i recently bought a indio boardwalk that i think plays better and sounds sweeter than gibsons, and mia fenders.
Amazing tone on that guitar, for us tone junkies its like crack. Thanks for another great review Max and that tasty playing in the demo!
Been torn between this, Charvel San Dimas and the Kramer Baretta. I like the no BS with limited controls on the Kramer but the sustainer pick up of the shedder seems too cool to pass up.
Excelent sound!!! What distortion pedal did you use? Cheers!!
Sick tones. I guarantee you it's in part because of that big, heavy mahogany body
Hey Max. Great vid and sound! Could you only insert the battery for the bridge pickup and not put a battery in the compartment for the Sustaniac? Would it work like that, if you're not wanting to use 2 batteries all the time? Or does it only work with the 2 batteries? Weird question I know.....:)
That's a damn good question I was wondering the same.
Intro was amazing btw
I have been wanting that Schecter guitar brand for some time now it really 🤟 Thanks for the vid of it . Thanks TroyFrost / Troyster 😎 CoolRiffs 😎 Cool 🎸 🤘🤘 🤘
Fender EOB Strat has same dank features... not a lot more money, esp used on Reverb, and has a *wonderful* chunky 50s style neck.
