I had the pleasure of playing one of these at a friends house the other day and I have to say, this is one of the best feeling guitars I have ever played.
for anyone wondering about the floyd it is a floyd special but upgraded with steel parts so it is a really good floyd. If set up correctly you will be more than fine.
I am super late on the party but I just purchased this Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder FR S longest name Birch Green guitar recently in Canada. It looks very green on the video and in person, it look more of bright yellow-ish super bright neon lime. It is definitely super fun to play. I've been playing with fun Floyd Rose to do tricks to make super car, airplane and motorcycle noises. This became my main piece of beast now and I recommend it. Quality is fantastic in terms of construction. Sustainiac is so fun that I lost track of time. Love the guitar!
Hey my friend I was wondering if you know the ballpark weight of your instrument? I have a spine problem which prevents me from playing heavier guitars at gigs.
I own a non-sustainiac version of this guitar in Sea Foam Green and I love it. I originally wanted a Charvel San Dimas, but after playing both guitars, I decided to save $200 and go with the Schecter, both have similar specs, both play and sound great. I would recommend this to anyone in the market for a Floyd equipped Super Strat, it's a killer guitar at a great price.
Seeing Rob with his beard here and then going over to his channel to see it gone is so jarring. I’m happy, though, that I get to see that glorious beard some more before it’s tragically gone.

I got the lambo orange one (thanks Henning and Robert), which is great for the hard rock metally stuff! Feels great. Pickups (reto-actives) are good and like 'm more than the usual active EMG's, just don't try to 'clean up' the sound by turning the volume knob. :P
When I see Rob playing the substaniac, my though was; why not make a small cavity below the strings with a tiny momentary switch, so you can use your pinky without having to move all the way to the switch where it is now. The sunken cavity is to prevent it from touching indeliberately.
As someone who has only started playing in january. I love my satin walnut omen 6! And some of these look stunning! Would much rather a hardtail, but these are proper noice
I just got the sustainiac version in white for fun shenanigans and I absolute love it. Punches well above its weight, incredible value for money, proudly sits next to my EBMM liii, super impressed with it. The Birch Green in the Sun Valley Shredder line is probably my first choice of a Schecter for what I'd consider spend, ing it's $ 800 today though. The budget beginner model they have though, that is most like the Squier Affinity series is the C6 Elite in Sunburst Silver.
Oh look, EMG makes more than just the EMG 81 pickup. - What a surprise. - I would totally have known this had I only listened to everybody on the internet...

Problem is Charvel only have SS frets on the non-imports... whereas Schecter has SS frets on some of the Korean made models. Such as the Apocalypse FR S.
I just ordered the black sustainiac with the Maple neck. I think that guitar is the coolest looking one. The only thing I don't like about it is the fret markers, so I'm ordering some black "Iron Cross" PET fret markers outlined in silver to put on the neck. That will make it "pop" very nicely. Also adding a chromed Gothic cross in black outlined in chrome to stick onto the body from the auto parts store. It'll look absolutely awesome then.
I'd be all over this sh*t if there was a HT version. Guitar companies (including Charvel) seem to be completely averse to building a Strat copy (pickguard and all) that has a simple hardtail bridge. The Kiesel Greg Howe GH3 is the only model I know of right now that you can get this way - a nice Hipshot in their case.

It's an ugly green color but sounds better than anything I've ever played/owned, so I keep it, even though I also hate the Floyd and it weighs a ton. Not sure why these all have third party pickups, though; the overwound coil-tapped/split Schecter pickups from that era were absolutely killer.
The only reason i bought it for (sustainiac) is not working :S. It works perfectly on 1st setting (sustain without overtones) and i can feel the vibrations on the neck but as I go from 1st to 2nd and 3rd, the power of sustainiac seems to get weaker, thats why it works somewhat on 2nd setting as well (mostly higher than 12th fret) but hard to make any note work below 12th fret on 3rd setting (octave harmonics). Tried new batteries but the same, what a pity will have to return it now.
