It do work I got my back squat from 295 to 415 in under 6months from doing these variations. Also two legs days a week. Got my front squat from 215 to 325 doing the same
@@tdf4142 that’s great! Keep it up. I played around with it. My first macro cycle was focused on strength so a lot of 5x5s and 5x3s. Within those reps and sets I would do a complex. So 2 pause squats and 3 regular tempo squats, usually between 75 to 90% of my 1rm. I would also do a lot of heavy eccentrics
@@williamalvarado1419 thanks alot, i'll definitely try this, ive been working out without a program so i'll start with this and see how it goes, thanks again.
@@williamalvarado1419How did you do that? When I squat 3 times per week @85% of my 1RM I quickly burn out, I don't make much progress, and my lower back and speed start suffering. I do high bar, my best is 120kg (around 265), I weigh 72.5kg (160 lbs) and I'm 173cm tall (5'8). It's getting really difficult to squat now as I did Stronglifts, and even if I don't increase the weight every workout and I keep it at let's say 100kg, my fatigue is going to be through the roof in a week and a half or two
Classic paused squats and front squats are my favorite variations (paused front squats are crazy too) I’d also recommend finding a good machine for quads, something you like and can progress and a pure hinge like good morning or rdl and you have everything you need for a great leg day.
You gotta try the slow double bounce reps. Very noticeable improvement. Somehow those slow essentrics actually help with explosiveness. Probably because you work the parts of the movement you usually skip past and pass again with some momentum.
Never heard anyone recommend a "double bounce squat" isn't bouncing in the whole one of the worst things to do? I know some very high level athletes do it, but it's the outlier because of safety right???
The double bounce thing works really well with agility based athletes.
Great for wrestlers. Double bounce lunges too.
Little Timmy be squatting 500lbs though 💀

Do you have a workout log or something which I can see?
Hmmm, do squats first ? I never thought of that...
(Sarcasm)

The way this video starts is just mean spirited. That kid's a freak
I’ll say this, the first clip, it’s clearly too much weight no depth to those squats in the slightest.
No it's just that I almost bench more than I squat.

Just splendid
Five sets of two? Or two sets of five.
I don’t realy want to do 10 sets of a heavy double every leg day.

If you're coordinated enough to be a basic level athlete, there's nothing dangerous about double bounce squats.
