- Drum Goddess Sheila Escovedo and The E Family "live percussion jam" 4/12/12 in LA at an event sponsored by Lexus honoring Ms E for her community work inspiring the musical talents of youth in foster care.
Sheila E. is great and can work those drums like no one else and is so beautiful also.
CAN YOU IMAGINE HER AND PRINCE TOGETHER???!!! WOW!!!!!!!!! I CAN SEE HOW THEY WERE ATTRACTED TO EACH OTHER!!!! IF THEY HAD MARRIED, GOOD CHANCE HE'D STILL BE HERE....REST IN PEACE, PRINCE!!!!

they give a fantastic show, i saw them in oakland over 20 years ago and they rocked it like this, great energy, great percussions, great set! they can all wail like hell on the drums. and i've been in love with sheila e for almost 40 years.

It may be sexist, but as a drummer myself, Sheila E. is the only female percussionist I take seriously. Of course, throughout her career she has supplemented her talents through her voice and being wonderful to watch on stage. A great performer at all times, she has never disappointed. More power to her.

I haven't watched this for a long time. Prince passed today. I'm crushed. I can't begin to know how Sheila must be feeling. I'm a drummer, Sheila & Prince have been major sources of influence in my life. So I felt the need to revisit one my happy memories, this night with Ms Escovedo.

Hey, TheMysia. I am moved to leave a message from 2020 to your really moving post on the day of our dear Prince’s passing to the afterlife. It hurts so much. And I’m reaching out to the past you that wrote those words, even though, in reality, you’ll be reading these words in 2020; I don’t really know why, but simply just to say, I get it, and I was and am still, crushed, like you. But oh, weren’t we so lucky to have him for a while ... and we still have him here in RUclips and in his music. And he lives in the spirit of those who knew and loved him. Shiela E carries his light and watching her perform here in this video with her family is a joy. Thank you to 2016 you and to 2020 you for posting this! Sending purple love to you! I believe each one of us that loved Prince and his work will get our chance to meet and see him one day in the afterlife, when 💜💓💫✨🌟🌟each of us has our own time of passing/transition - that will be a glorious day!

+TheMyisa This is an INCREDIBLE video that you have posted here! I remember 1st seeing Sheila when she did a drum solo for Con Funk Shun in B'ham, Al back in the '70's as part of the Love Shine Tour. To date , that has been my only time seeing her live but I always felt way back then that she would be a Major talent & I'm glad to see that I was right. Thank you so much for sharing this with us! x )
