I like the after game replay commentary style as well. That way you can look at the game with post game knowledge which gives an interesting perspective on plays.

Yeah live will be better and it’s going to be the vast majority of videos. Just good to know the replay is still an option and I don’t have to lose an entire recording if something goes wrong or I’m not in the mood for a bunch of talking.
I remember building my Muldrotha with absolutely no non-permanents so that I could have "ultimate value..." it was slower days of gameplay but it still built up so much value it became unfun for everyone to keep playing, me included
Commentary post game using replays can often give better content because you have more context for the game and can talk more about playing around things if needed, for casual it's not a big difference often though I guess but still. It also let's you focus on playing when playing and commentary separately which likely leads to higher quality commentary

I respectfully disagree with others. I find the gameplay less engaging when commentary is added using the replay mod. I’ll likely skip this and similar videos. I’d much prefer edited gameplay with a new voiceover, as it feels more immersive, like playing alongside you. Compared to other content on RUclips, this production style feels less compelling.
I imagine MTGO is always going to feel like less of a “production style” because it’s just old and ugly software. If I was a viewer I don’t think I’d like seeing the replay function either. When I used to watch MTGO RUclipsrs I didn’t like it when they used it either. But that was because they were usually cherry picking their wins. That’s why I’m surprised to hear the responses from people here who are ambivalent towards it.

Audio works either way, though sometimes the real time shock reaction of someone making a ridiculous play adds to the play calling a bit
