- I paid for this out of my own pocket. This is a how to. A review will be coming soon.
I decided to install a QD Exhaust (slip-on only) GunShot Carbon Dark Matter with the Titanium Finish. I did not install this on my Ducati Multistrada V4S for performance purposes, solely for sound and asthetics.

Do you like the sound of this QD slip on exhaust?
Absoulutly ! Sounds great , i like it and i think i would like the extra ponniers with full system as well 😃
sounds definetely better than the stock 👌
Much better than stock, and deeper without the Db killer. Really nice.
Sounds great to me...
At the time I purchased my V4S, I had a bit of money to burn, as it were. I purchased mine to honor my daughter, who passed just over a year ago, so I ride (with/)for her memory. I included the higher end racing exhaust as part of the full meal deal (basically everything but the carbon fiber stuff, which I don't happen to like). I'm satisfied with the exhaust I now have, though it may be a bit louder than stock, and my previous 2011 Multistrada.
Actually, I'd probably love a 600cc version of the V4S, which would be more than ample, but Ducati's marketing model would turn it into a bare bones version, because they want all the cool features to be only on their highest cost models - go figure!
First of all, I am very sorry for your loss. I have two daughters and couldn’t even imagine in the least bit how you feel. On a lighter note, I really wish that I had the full exhaust, however it is extremely costly and there is currently a several month wait. Thank you for sharing
Did the carbon fiber have anything underneath? It may not be necessary but I like to put high-temp heat transfer tape underneath the carbon fiber to help even more with heat dissipation.
Was thé ÉCU on thé MS the problem? Honda car Co., in their 96 +- Accords had an issue with the cold effecting their ECU causing the fuel pump not to operate.
Hope Ducati NA stays on this problem for you.
Are you satisfied with the sound? I am interested in the zard muffler, but I can't hear the sound yet. QD muffler is not pretty
Sounds and looks great Rembo but the price is crazy at over $1,100 for just a slip on, getting the Arrow black Ti one for my Multi Rally at $660. Will post video when installed😎
Excellent. Please do and let me know when you post it.
Thanks. Very interested to know if the pannier is affected by heat.
I think while riding a speed it won’t be an issue. But maybe in heavy traffic for extended periods of time it may
Love the sound! Great how to video as well.
Two comment i would say you could do is have a tube of hi-temp locktight (white) for exhaust system work. The other is that i see you have the lower saddle bag supports so i think it looks like you have the bags for the bike. Keep an eye on the heat generated by a short pipe on the inside of the saddle bag when running at highway speeds with the bags on. Even though the exhaust side has a heat shield it was meant for the longer pipe.
Agree
Nice video and looks really easy to install, what's your opinion of sound & performance? How much was the new exhaust?
I love it. about $1k
Nice sound ! Hard to compare with my full Akra… If you like it…this is the most important !
I'll just ask you one question. Rather than the sound of a slip-on akrapovic muffler. Does the slip-on QD muffler sound more grand? The reason I ask the question is that the sound of the slip-on akrapovic muffler is not very different from the sound of the original muffler.
The QD slip on is definitely a deeper sound, especially when you hit higher RPMs on the street
Well, the fact that you can hear it at all must be an improvement - these euro 5 bikes are almost silent. Sounds pretty good now!
Thank you
Are any special permits required to use millimeters like that and if so what is the cost per millimeter?
I really don’t understand the question
Sounds great!
Weight saving and a standstill DB FREE sound recording please Rembo?
Yes Please
Living in Canada, I have forgotten what my Multi sounds like, so I am having a hard time hearing the difference haha! Is it a much deeper sound? I was opting for just the slip-on as well and want to make sure the investment addresses the hollower sound of the stock slip-on.
Deeper and slightly louder
Sounds good. How does this compare to Akro slip on that comes on the V4 Sport?
That’s a great question. I actually do not know the answer to that
@@RemboUSMC that’s alright. You know us aviation guys are all about attention to detail. Probably why we both love and hate Ducati’s at times 😂
Ducati uses a different flavor of red. Its more equal to blue than the red you get in the US. Did you do anything for the ECU tune?
No, not necessary for a slip on
Curious as to why you chose the Belli vs. the Akro? Liked the way you did the vid and now I'm thinking about changing my exhaust.
Looks better
@@RemboUSMC Italians are always about looking good.LOL It does make the OEM unit look like crap. My panniers are always on so I don't see it.
I find this strange. Could we not hear the sound of the baffle removed prior to you riding off? Also, it's my understanding that most, if not all of the sound deadening material is stuffed inside the 'cat so the only way to get that proper decent sound is to get the bike ''de-cated".
My v4S sounds like a hoover so I want to modify the sound but it's got to be worth it. On the strength of your video I'd say a normal slip on mod without the decat is not?
Great videos btw and keep up the good work 👍🏻
It is definitely louder than the stock muffler, but you really don’t hear it until you are really pulling on the throttle on the road
Good video, will you let us know what you find out Ducati not starting. Thank You Rembo.
Will do
Nice one and good job. I am a bit conservative here...and for Ducati I would only go with Termignoni exhaust but I don't think they make one for V4S 🤷♂
I don’t think they do
They do, I just checked it 2 days ago, it's on their Italian website. However I find it not very pleasant to the eye... To be perfectly honest it's ugly to me.
Have been debating the full Akra system from Ducati but having a hard time stomaching the price point. It's hard to tell from your video, but would you say the slip on was worth the price?
That has yet to be determined. So far I am happy with it but all exhausts for this bike are very expensive
I opted for the full Akra system. I ordered it from Italy for $2k while here in the US is $3300 and its out of stock everywhere. Can’t wait to install it 😬. I like this QD thats nice and light, but I wanted a no-Cat system which really opens the engine sound.
@@jolebole-yt Do you have a link? And did it come with the card with the map key?
How does it fit with the original panniers? On the QD website the muffler sits quite close to the heatshield on the panier. And as those side panniers sit on a moving support system, do they interfere with the muffler? That would be my only concern. Any pictures/vids on that?
Zero issue with fit, no issue at all with panniers. So far.
Sounds amazing, but may I ask you, is it a euro 5 exhaust?
Yes, I’d don’t change the cat
Sounds good, could you tell a difference in performance
I cannot tell a difference performance because it’s only a slip on and not the full exhaust
Epic upgrade Rembo. Any factory warranty issues with Ducati changing this out?
No warranty issues
excellent!!!
Glad you like it!
Are you satisfied with the sound of the QD muffler? Would you like to recommend it to your friends? Is the decibel level unknown after removing the db killer?
I’m very happy with it. It’s a very throaty sound, especially when you crank the RPMs on the road. It’s also comfortable and traffic is not too loud
How much is the decat in the states ?
I think it’s around $1300 depending upon which one
Looks like you stripped the thread on the carbon heat shield
Actually, there was a manufacturer's defect on the heat shield brackets and they sent me a complete replacement. This was a known issue and QD replaced a few of them.
How do you like it?
So far so good. People that I ride with our commenting and I didn’t even tell them that I did it
Did you mapping the bike for this?
No it’s just a slip on and the cat is still on the bike.
What's that hanging at your brake pedal?
That is a little bell that is supposed to be good luck. It is called a gremlin bell and someone should buy one for you, you’re not supposed to buy your own.
I'm sorry but I don't like it at all, unfortunate look and nothing according to that beautiful bike, having the amazing stock titanium Akrapovic which is simply perfect I don't understand why you have chosen that ugly and gypsy look, sorry but is a real shame, the only advantage of this QD and similar exhaust is its low price, at least here in Europe, less than half that Akrapovic
should do a decat
Yes but I don’t want to buy a power unit
But you haven't worked on motorcycles yourself often, have you?
It’s my first bike. I just learned what a wrench was.
Horrible🫣
Worse than horrible.
