What’s really the difference between candy paint and regular auto paint?
candy paint is transparent where regular paint is not.
Candy is transparent / lighter color. The more layers you add. the darker it can gets
candy is available pre mixed or comes concentrated where you can mix it into clear coat inner coat to mix it as light for more transparency or as dark as you like for a darker transparency.
pigments and concentrates are mixed with clear coat Inner base coat for art work so it can be removed with Lacquer thinner in case you mess up.
if you mix pigments or concentrates with 2K Clear urethane it is permanent.
unless you sand it back off.
if no art work is being applied then it is best to mix the pigments or concentrates into 2K Clear.

How did you prep the bare wood surface for primer, base,flake?
I just sounded the wood and went straight to Black base coat because I was metal flaking otherwise I would primer and then send
