Hating is a LOT of wasted time and energy, it takes a lot of mental capacity to just sit there and constantly think of reasons why you don’t like someone. Is it because he makes a living doing fun shit? Is it because he has a bad ass rivian? His home is so close to the place your non existent parents never took you to because they never loved you and you’ve never felt love from anyone ever?
I have a solution for your white interior issues , I have a Tesla with white interior, use “Car Guys Super Cleaner” on the seats and wipe with a micro fiber towel, removes everything , your seats will look brand new again.
Probably going to google this to see if it will work on leather bags and wallets. I love detailing “vintage” leather goods and usually use either car detailing products or saddle products!
I live by Rivian’s headquarters in central Illinois. It’s so cool to me that this is the vehicle you guys settled on! Love seeing these on the road by me.

Didn’t think this video would interest me much but I’m pleasantly surprised 😂 $80k is less than I thought they would start at. They’re pretty nice, I’ve noticed a few of them around the central Florida area. Much better lookin than those air fryer shaped cyber trucks ☠️
Don't use magic eraser on leather, it removes the sealing clear coat. It's an abrasive, works well but it damages things. Use a dedicated leather cleaner. Poor guys has a decent one but there are more. You can also try a general apc diluted. You should then apply a leather sealant to make it easy to clean in future. Great look at the car. Looks very nice.
My husband and I are sitting here watching the Rivian Review video and I can hear him go "Oh I didn't know it had that" a few times! HE WORKS AT THE MANUFACTURER IN NORMAL! He is with Rivians daily LOL! Love your videos!
Great video! We love our R1S Quad too.. As a family of 5 who is eco conscious, we needed something big and environmentally friendly as well to haul us around to all the fun adventures we go on.. 😊
I just got my R1T last month and I love it. Don't forget to add a USB C hard drive to enable the dash cam. And you can ask service to add the gen 2 wireless charger. Just say it doesn't work.
How do you service the car if rivian goes out of business? many electric car companies have gone bankrupt recently which would cause me to not get something from a company that might not be around for long
@@honeybvn Pontiacs are not as software dependent as electric cars so I don't think that's comparable. Based on the recent Fisker bankruptcy, it looks like the owners won't get any more software updates, no more warranty, resale value decreases, etc. Its like rolling the dice getting a car from a new startup.
@Scott25368 sure it's always a gamble, but Rivian is pretty well established now. If you didn't realize, they provide the EV trucks for Amazon, so the cash flow is there. I would say you're taking a chance with any vehicle now. Look at how many vehicles control their HVAC through the infotainment system. Who would service that, if pontiac had lived long enough to have the same tech? The same could happen to any of the current big brands
@@notman05 Well Ford or Toyota aren't going out of business. Pontiac was a GM brand so GM still supplied coverage for them, and had common parts with other GM cars. Despite Amazon, Rivian is burning through cash too fast and had to get an infusion from Volkswagon. Q1 cashflow this year was negative $1.51 billion.
Your Rivian is a cool car and great for your family! Really very cool with plenty of gadgets, and because of your ability you’ll get lots of use out of them all.👍I love red but the green is cool! Enjoy your Rivian with your family! Many happy miles !
If I were to get an electric car it would be a Rivian. But right now with how much I drive an electric car is not for me. Not enough miles per charge. At first the headlights I didn’t like. But after seeing more and more Rivians on the road they have grown on me. Glad you are enjoying the Rivian.
My nosiness is satisfied...😄....I've been wondering where the Tesla went!! I assumed it was a Range Rover!! Never would have guessed Rivian. Love it and glad the Tracker family is enjoying it!!
Great review! I love my R1S and really like #Rivian as a company. Consider applying an interior ceramic coating to your seats (after you get the black-belt scuffs removed). That is the first thing I did when I picked up my R1S b/c I have a 110 pound Golden Doodle. Cheers!
Thanks for the thorough review. You really answered most of my questions regarding the Rivian and the bonus answer of comparing it to Tesla. Of course, the Model Y is not comparable to the R1S, but you gave me a good understanding. I’ve ordered the R2 and I was thinking about the model Y which might fun to drive, but it is kind of a boring vehicle for me. I like the Rivian concept of making vehicles. Thanks.

I know this one was a long time coming, but I think your length of ownership actually makes the review better since you’ve had lots of time to drive and use the vehicle. (Not to mention that during this year you’ve also been juggling a full time job, a preschooler, a newborn, etc. Good videos are worth the wait! 😊)
Love the green color with the white and yellow accents. It’s different than a hunter green and I think it’s pretty cool looking overall. The black wood finish is phenomenal, very nice vehicle.

I really enjoyed this video! Didn’t know much about the Rivian, so it was nice to see a review of the Rivian. But, I don’t think a Tesla Y should be compared to the Rivian, because the Rivian is a larger vehicle and the Rivian is about twice the price of a Tesla Y. I would love to see the Rivian compared to the Tesla X. They seem about the same size. We have a Tesla 3 and a Tesla S plaid. We love both cars! We travel all the time with our Tesla and you can’t beat the Tesla charging infrastructure.
I think you should have mentioned that the Rivian is pretty much double the price of the Model Y. Having said that, I love both Rivian and Tesla. I just think that was information that should have been included. It really isn't an apples to apples comparison.
These cars remind me of something you would see in Wow Wow Wubzy lol 😅 Also I think owning a vehicle for a year is a good enough time to give a decent honest review without reading the brochures Great job Tim!
The ambient noise is absolutely spectacular. What a cool decision from the company. Man I've wanted one since you started talking about it and this did not help. In southern mn we don't see a lot. In my town of 10k we know of 1 T model and that's it, so anytime we see one we yell "tracker mobile!!!"

They are abrasives and your leather is painted & clear coated effectively. Use dedicated cleaners only and perhaps a good high quality protectant would help staining in future ☺
I wish it was hybrid! Not fully sold on completely electric since it's way too new and would love to have a gas option as well since we travel and won't have time to stop and charge so much, but the space in the Rivian is fantastic!

My husband has been keeping an eye on Rivians for a while. We bought a toyota rav a couple years ago, but my 2003 chevy malibu is teetering on the edge of “maybe it’s time to say goodbye” and he often teases me about getting a rivian. It snows where we live, so getting another vehicle with ‘snow mode’ is always a good idea.
I went to Illinois State University which is located in Normal, IL where the Rivian manufacturing plant is. There were so many of them on the streets, for a test drive I guess. Thank you for the full review ♥️

Living in a area that has multiple day over 100 degrees, I just don’t get the big window over your head too heat up the car. I have had actual sun roofs of both the old pop out type and electric with a sliding cover. I never use them without opening it completely. Also the new trend of a tire inflator instead a spare is just irresponsible of car manufacturers. At nearly 60 I have had at least 3 tire incidents that no inflator would help, including an incident in a bad storm were a CHP officer put the spare tire on for my wife because my infant child( now 31) was in the back and it was going to be 3 hour until a tow truck could come. This does seem to be the most SUV of the EV’s currently available. Good review 👍

I was wondering the same thing! If they did, how long after this purchase was it? And if they haven't, have they at least reached out to say "hey, it will be x amount more time?" And, if they did, whatever became of that original red one? Did it become "abandoned" too?
I test drove an R1s and a Kia EV9 at the ev show this spring. I was really impressed with the Ev9. The R1s was a close second. R1s probably had more power but the EV9 drive was super smooth. I currently drive a Chevy bolt ev.

Rivian makes a good looking vehicle. If I were able to purchase an electric vehicle I think I would go Tesla because of their charging network. Is Tesla the only company that has a charging network?

This was very entertaining and I'm not even in the market for a car- lol. Just curious: were you able to get your $1000 back or did you have to take delivery of the car you ordered and then resell?
I hope to get the R3, but I do have an R2 reservation. I imagine it would be at least 2 years before I even got the R2, so I will probably end up going with that even though I like the R3 more. They are overall pretty similar, so I'm sure it wouldn't really matter too much. I currently drive 2008 and will have over 200k miles in a couple more years, so the timing would be pretty good.
It's fun to hear that in the US a man who bought a car was selling it for more money than he bought it for, here in the UK nobody would go for that as it's now what we call a second hand car, it's no longer brand new because he already owned it and straight away it loses ten percent of its worth, basically as soon as it leaves the dealership here every car is worth ten percent less than the original selling price

If the seats are leather I’d consider saddle soap prior to a magic eraser. Magic erasers have a lot of chemicals and are abrasive enough that they often ruin leathers of synthetic leather. Try the gentlest methods first

The Max Battery pack gets 410 miles per charge.
Less than 1% of people drive 300 miles a day or more. If you need a car that needs more than that then your are in the extremely vast minority.

Try the magic eraser LAST because it’s micro sandpaper basically and will only exasturbate the problem after that and make it worse in the future

Thinking of making the switch to the '25 R1S Adventure. Thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated. Yay or nay? There's giving me $8K more than CarMax for my Model S. They're clearly really wanting to convert Tesla customers.
I love the rivian! Its a good looking vehicle. Love all the fun features. I could see you picking out the green color. I just got a toyota rav 4 hybrid. I love it. 580 miles before i need gas! Did Rivian ever call you to say your original red one was available?
I was wondering the same thing! If they did, how long after this purchase was it? And if they haven't, have they at least reached out to say "hey, it will be x amount more time?" And, if they did, whatever became of that original red one? Did it become "abandoned" too?
Man, I can barely wait for the R2 to come out.

I test drove an R1s and a Kia EV9 at the ev show this spring. I was really impressed with the Ev9. The R1s was a close second. R1s probably had more power but the EV9 drive was super smooth. I currently drive a Chevy bolt ev.

Rivian makes a good looking vehicle. If I were able to purchase an electric vehicle I think I would go Tesla because of their charging network. Is Tesla the only company that has a charging network?

Ding Dang Tim quite the vehicle that. Looks similar to a Land Rover shape so in my opinion better than a tesla shape to say. Brilliant review video very informative. What happened to the Corvair?

That is a huge Frunk! The panic button in the frunk is cool! I do miss my Model X, as far as the electric ride/acceleration. Gotta save up for my EV Macan!
This was very entertaining and I'm not even in the market for a car- lol. Just curious: were you able to get your $1000 back or did you have to take delivery of the car you ordered and then resell?
I hope to get the R3, but I do have an R2 reservation. I imagine it would be at least 2 years before I even got the R2, so I will probably end up going with that even though I like the R3 more. They are overall pretty similar, so I'm sure it wouldn't really matter too much. I currently drive 2008 and will have over 200k miles in a couple more years, so the timing would be pretty good.
It's fun to hear that in the US a man who bought a car was selling it for more money than he bought it for, here in the UK nobody would go for that as it's now what we call a second hand car, it's no longer brand new because he already owned it and straight away it loses ten percent of its worth, basically as soon as it leaves the dealership here every car is worth ten percent less than the original selling price

The twraps wireless charger for the Rivian works perfectly
If the seats are leather I’d consider saddle soap prior to a magic eraser. Magic erasers have a lot of chemicals and are abrasive enough that they often ruin leathers of synthetic leather. Try the gentlest methods first
