Thanks for the tip and showing this tent. I'm on the edge of making a choice buying one. So what I learned from you now is a) 2 persons b) weight and c) package size. Thanks for this.
Great tent ⛺️ better than the old ones l went camping in back in the early 70s. Last time l went camping l was 15 or 16 l was heavily into David Bowie and had my cassette recorder with me. I learnt how to play Five Years and Quicksand and various other Bowie songs on my acoustic guitar 🎸 l was very popular in my home town 😅 with the girls 👧 ❤️ Those were the days. Funny but riding horses and motocross bikes lead me to playing guitar because I'll fell off so many times. I'd two older brothers, one raced bikes and the other played guitar 🎸 When l was off school injured l began playing guitar . Almost 67 years old now still playing guitar and still riding motorbikes. LET'S HAVE IT 😅
What a great story Mike! Motocross bikes, horses and most definitely guitars have all been significant parts of my life too, in my formative years and still today. There are worse things to spend your time messing around with! 😁
I have used an Apache 4 person wig wam tent for nearly ten years, same weight, same waterproofing spec, one pole to snap together and it’s up,just peg out ropes. Packs up to same size or less . The best bit is the masses of room and being able to stand up straight to get dressed, and not have to lay on the floor and roll about like a demented worm 👍
I have had one of these for three years and haven’t bothered with any of my other tents since then because it’s so convenient! There are two small vestibules by the doors which are big enough for boots and that’s where I put mine. You can always get the awning if you really need more space. 😎
I think the tent looks great, I really love the idea of the blackout material. I plan to do the NC500 late spring so I’m looking out for a handy motorcycle camping tent. It ticks all the boxes but I think the weight and physical size when it’s packed down is a bit of a deal breaker for me. I’ll keep an eye out and see how you get on with it. Cheers!
I have the same tent and it is brilliant the only drawback is the bulk when packed so I put it in it's own drysack and strap it to the top of the seat pack .Forget it being two person it is ideal for one with gear inside and the blackout works in Scotland in June when it did not get dark until after 10pm it was dark enough inside to get to sleep and have a lie in.
There is a dedicated awning for this tent that you can buy extra giving you the space you talked about. It does of course increase the overall weight and packed size.
Well Steve, reading the comments that people have posted, it looks like you are onto a winner. I have never done a tour and used a tent. More of a hotel sort of guy 😂. See you in the next one.
Injagen the three persons 2 seconds umbrella decathlon. Oké it’s not light (8kg) but my GS doesn’t bother the weight. The only downsize for me is the package size.
I have the lightweight backpack model , very light, fits into a 36ltr pannier , and a large porch either side , not an ultra quick pitch as that one , but perfect for bike travel
I’ve gone bigger and heavy, the Vango Skye 400, black out bedroom, separate mesh to keep the bugs out of the sleeping area, 140mm height, so no wriggling to get your gear on…… but I’m tempted with the Vango Galaxy 300, it’s a saving of just over a kilo, you can stand up. The only downside is a flappy fly sheet I’ve heard. Comment anyone who has got one.
I’ve got the 300. Great tent. No issues with fly sheet. An extra 15mins to erect compared to the smaller dome tents but great having the big area you can stand in or sit comfortably in bad weather. 👍🏼
I've had my Vango Galaxy 300 for a couple of years now. Fantastic tent. Front of the fly can flap around in the wind but doesn't bother me. Being able to stand up & have a slash at 3am when it's pouring down is worth the price of admission.

Hi Paul, I hope it helped and good luck with whatever you choose 😊

Sounds good! 😊

So far I think it’s great and I can’t see me ever going back to feeding poles through fiddly channels again! 😊
Bought one last year great tent for touring. Never had any leaks in a biblical storm in France soon got used to putting up an packing away
Sounds like I made the right choice! 😊

Good luck with your search! You are going to love the NC500! 😊
I got this mainly for how fast I can get it put away, I've got the porch for it too. Best little tent I've ever had. Happy camping Steve
Thanks Tony, so far I’m really happy with it 😊

I’m really pleased with it and I agree, perfect for one plus all your gear 😊
i've got that tent too. Best tent ever.
So far, I’m incredibly impressed with it! 😊

Ah, I will look into the awning… thanks! 😊

Thanks Brian, yes, so far I’m very impressed with it. I do like a good hotel room though and a proper bed too! 😊

Sounds like a good choice to me! 😊
A good wee video Steve. I have Khyam. Great quality and easy to pop up. Check out their range too.
Thanks Ken, I’ll take a look at the Khyam range too 😊
Yep it’s a great video Steve, i need to get a tent for next year i think. ✅
Thanks! Glad you liked it, having a tent with the bike opens up more opportunities, I don’t think you’ll regret it 😁
Looks like i need to get a tent for next year as I'm planning on doing the Dave day run 😃
Sounds like a plan! 😊

That does sound really good 😊
You should look at the slumit cub 2 tent, these have a porch !!? 😎🏍️😊
I'll check it out! 😊
I’ve had slummit cub 2 for a couple of years now, used all over France twice , great tent , very similar but only one pull to get up

Hi Colin, it would be very nice to avoid that early morning wriggle!! I’ll take a look at the Vango 😁

The ease of getting it up is always an issue as you get older I guess
😂
Too big! (IMO)
