@simonharris4873 In the past, before the advent of hard helmets or head protection, Bouncers were killers. The rule of only 2 bouncers per over didnt exist back then. Bowlers were terrorizing in the past.
I think this is also the reason that in Australia, popularity of cricket is decreasing. After winning 99 world cup, there was huge crowd gathered in streets to welcome and cheer australian team but winning 23 cup, no crowd was there in airport for greeting.

Ponting's catch was legal as per the rule book he has complete control over the ball/catch.

Well it is only cheating if you accept the punishment as far as BCCI is concerned. Too many times the BCCI has bluffed the ICC into withdrawing match suspensions handed down for various infractions including a match suspension handed to the mighty Sachin Tendulkar. As far as cheating and punishment goes Australia is the only country which has rejected the ICC’s inadequate sanctions and imposed their own bans which were far greater than the inadequate bans imposed by the ICC.

Sorry brother but India also have another level of cheating biggest example was this ICC World Cup 2023 when they knew that the event is taking place in their own country so they were doing biggest cheating in the history of Cricket by changing the pitches 1 night or 1 day before the match to show the opposition team weaker although they themselves were very weak which was clearly seen in the finals when Pat Cummins exposed the Real cheating face of Indian team and Indian cricket Council. They tried their best to not get caught while doing this all cheating stuff but they were clearly in India VS News Zealand match when the toss was taking place and especially in the finals when they tried to change the pitch... News Zealand team even raised this Indian cheating issue when they were knock out from the tournament... So bro look at your team and your cricket Council/ Management cheating history instead of pointing out on Australia or any other team... As far as Pakistani team is concerned whenever they were caught involved in such cheating stuff those players have always paid heavy fine or faced suspension from team... There is a huge history of Indian team as well related to cheating so you better do your homework next time before raising fingers on any other team...

Why anyone still gets surprised or shocked with Aussie cricketers cheating is beyond me. Having lived there for a number of years I can tell you that it's part of their culture, even prevalent in an office environment. I can also tell you that Sandpapergate was not the first time they used such tactics, look at the stats regarding reverse swing and how much sooner Aussies were achieving it compared to other teams. It's a disgusting approach to sport and unfortunately endemic to Australian society as a whole. Born and bred cheats.
