You're probably never gonna read this but: this is awesome. You have such a great understanding of historical sieges. This is unusually realistic for something based on Warcraft.
I can't even begin to say how happy I am to find this series again. I've watched it back in the day of release but it got lost from my saved playlist. Thank you recommendations!
Or if he had used Resurrect. Or if Khadgar had used fireball. Or if Nilas Arcanister had used Ice Storm. Or if a number of other abilities had been used. I am still interested to know this: are you planning on doing one from the actual storyline? I enjoyed this one very much and would love to see something like this on the big screen, though I much prefer the true story line.
At any point Blizzard would of been extremely useful.

What a masterpiece! Such a sad story for the Aliance, but it's still a way it ends the game if a player chooces to play as Horde in Warcraft 2.

I'm glad to hear you found the stuff as interesting as I did :) . And yeah, there's probably a bit too much lotr stuff, but still the biggest influence is simply the Warcraft 2 story.

In Warcraft 2, the color of Kul Tiras was a rather light green, whereas in the Warcraft 3 world editor the available green color seemed darker and more yellowish. So I chose teal for Kul Tiras units.
Also, I didn't include dwarven riflemen because they didn't exist as a unit in Warcraft 2, and also because rifles seem a bit too modern for this type of medieval battle :) . As for the siege of Ironforge, that could be a good topic for a movie but for me it's again perhaps a bit too similar to this.
Awesome work outonimi. I just got back in to wc3 mapping after a 5+ year break, and it's inspiring to see someone complete such a huge and amazing project! It's really cool that it uses official lore for the most part too!
If you make another one, please put them in a playlist or have a joined version ^^ I'm excited to see if you will make more!

Well it IS based off the Warcraft 2 orc campaign, and canonically, the human campaign took place.(they at least won)

Have you seen their numbers? If they use siege weapons their siege weapons will be destroyed by other siege weapons. Its like 1,000,000 vs 100,000.

Well yes, this takes place during the Second War, and the orcs first drank Mannoroth's blood already before entering Azeroth.
It is so fun that in Warlords of Draenor Khadgar can kill 20 orcs in one second. But here he just died)

Thank you for all the comments and feedback! They are much appreciated. Oh, and keep in mind that this is by no means supposed to be official lore... The story is loosely based on the ending of the orc campaign in Warcraft 2, but even that isn't a part of the official storyline in its entirety.
Now there's links to two maps in the description box. However, the whole movie is divided into almost 30 scenes, so if you would like to have the map corresponding to a particular scene, please specify which one (that is, in which part and which time does it occur).
Basicly, Warcraft 2 has two different endings. The Orc campaign ending, in which the orcs win the war and Lordaeron is destroyed, and the human ending in which the humans win (and which is the canon ending)
Well, it is meant to be deeply tragic. I don't rule out making another movie with a happier ending, but it probably wouldn't be a sequel to this, because the story here reaches quite a definite end point.
Actually the island fortress one is the only other map I used :) . I think I can add a link to it sometime this week.
Yeah, the map contains only one scene. I divided the movie into several scenes so that they would be easier to handle. Thus there are actually several maps, but all have essentially the same terrain.

Great work! I don't think Rend and Maim would have been able to kill Doomhammer so quickly. If they did they would have been killed on the spot, and a loyalist like Urok or Saurfang would have become the new Warchief.
Well, basically I just used custom models from Hive Workshop and some custom lighting created by a model editor (if that's what you mean).

The horde only wishes this really happened but in the 2nd war they were crushed.
This is indeed a great movie about the orc ending in Warcraft 2. Very sad for humans being all killed while they were bravely defending the capital city, but I still love the way how it's done. Really amazing! But I think there should have been added more Death Knight units, not just one like in one of the previous parts. Also, there should have been added some Ogre Magi units instead of all those Fel Orc units. One more thing: instead of regular Trolls, I think you should have put Troll Axethrower model (green Forest Troll kind of model), since Troll Headhunters are a different type of trolls. Everything else is just great! I hope you will make a human ending called "Fall of the Horde" or something like that. It would be so exciting to watch :D

Yes, that's how it really happened. But this is an alternative history mostly based on the Warcraft 2 orc campaign.
The Dwarves had rifles even before the war,but they were all Ironforge natives,and Ironforge was under siege by orcs who never set foot in the city(Many of them got slaughtered even before they got near).Thats maybe why they are not WC2.
How do you make the archers hold their Arrow ?
I play the archer attack animation, and then slow down the animation speed to 0% step by step.
This is the Orc Storyline. The Human Storyline leads to Alliance Victory and finally to WarCraft 3. In WarCraft 1 there was the same thing, but here the Horde Victory was the official story with Stormwind falling to the Orcs.

No, this is just how would Warcraft 2 end if the Orks win. In original storyline humans managed to win durning this battle and pushed the Horde back to the Blackrock Spire and then to Black Morass where Khadgar destroyed the Dark Portal.

That's right, but one of my main motivations for making this was the city design. Also, I find tragic endings to be more powerful than happy ones.

Great work, inspired me to get back to warcraft 3. What I like about the movie is the scale of the battle and the idea that they move in formations, they dont do that in the normal game. PS: I ask again here since its newer and I can get a faster reply, how did you get them to move in formations?
Thank you! I certainly had a lot of trouble getting the armies to move in an orderly fashion. The basic method was to turn collision off for the units and then to give orders of the type "pick all units in an area and order each of them to move a certain distance north". But when troops move inside the city, I often gave orders to individual units, one by one. Especially in corners I would create "chains" of regions where units are ordered to continue to the next region as soon as they enter the previous one. In the game there are also some limits concerning how many units owned by a certain player can move simultaneously, so I spread units on the Horde side among several players.

No, I gave units plenty of hitpoints. But then I occasionally gave certain units, such as archers, a skill with which they could one-shot anyone.
Theres a map on wc 3 called Glory of the Horde, Where the horde won the second war, Its set 10 years after, where some allliance nations have held their own, and the horde have splittered from each other forming the horde under the control of the legion and the horde under doomhammers leadership.
Hmm, good point :) . However, the idea was that even the western Horde force was possibly too large to be defeated by the remaining Alliance forces, and once it got inside the city it could attack the humans from at least two sides. Also, it was never completely certain that the gate would hold either.

It can be done by selecting the doodad and then pressing Control Page Up.

Ok, here's some answers. Orgrim does indeed die, and Rend and Maim take control of the Horde. The civilians are also killed, but I didn't want to make any huge massacre scene, so there's just a couple of deaths shown. The orcs don't exactly retreat, but since they have now defeated the Alliance, they will probably seek new lands or worlds to invade.
Well, the Orcs win the first war (Warcraft 1) when they destroy Stormwind, but they loose the second war (Warcraft 2) when the Dark Portal is destroyed.

First of all: I watched all 8 episodes without a break cause they was soooo interresting! You have done a great job with that and I hope it was worth for you.
For all the people who say the story would be wrong. You are right in some ways, but this is kinda the story of "The Glory of the Horde" what is an alternate story for the question "What if the Horde won the war instead of the Alliance?" Thats why the events are different.
PS: Arthas was only a deathknight as he killed Uther, nothing more
00:25 Orgrim said "slay them to the last man, like we did to the Draenei in ages past!" I really doubt he would've said that, since Orgrim and Durotan were friends of the Draenei, but if they did not participate in the killing&lead the other orcs to their city, they would've been killed themselves. I read this in "World of Warcraft: Rise of the Horde".

'cause it's somewhat an extended, fanmade version of the horde ending in Warcraft II - Tides of Darkness.
humans would never die so easily and so many orcs is from history true, but not that unreal army :p. The strengh of the humans together is great. I know this is only a cinematic , but normally it wouldn't be so. Well done, would be a honor to see one more Video ^^
This is an alternate ending that would have happened if Gul'dan didn't divert his troops. Humans were about to lose.
Doomhammer could not bring the whole Blackrock clan with him,as Gul'dan took half of the Black Rock clan,and all of the Stormreaver and Twilight Hollow's clans with to the Tomb of Sargeras.In total Gul'dan took away 1/3 of the entire horde forces,and so Doomhammer was unable to bring enough numbers.
Thats why the Alliance won the war,numbers.

This is great! Finely made you did a fantastic job. Say, have you ever thought about combing these into one video? Assuming that is you don't have a strike that limits you to 15 minute videos. Also, for the horde!
Thank you! I originally wanted to upload the whole thing as one video, but I did have that 15 minute limit so I cut the movie into suitable pieces.

Ok, that's probably right. However, this is mostly based on Warcraft 2 lore, and all throughout Warcraft 2 Orgrim seemed more brutal and bloodthirsty than anyone, and there wasn't any indication that he would have been friends with the Draenei.
