Today Today I am driving 100KM+ out of Bangkok to a town called Ratchaburi to try @hungrytoexplore 's favourite shrimp paste rice salad (khao kluk kapi). Let's see if it ives up to the hype.
We had three different dishes and a soup. We tried the khao kluk kapi obviously, mixed seafood pad kaprao and the roast chicken whic was absolutely incredible. All of the dishes were.

This takes me back to my younger days when I backpacked through SE Asia for a year. Thai people are some of the most friendly and generous people on earth and of course the food, that looks so delicious! I wish I was there! Thanks for the video!

This old town is historical famous to doing this big pot-“ aang” for rain water being kept in, and for drinking water or for shower from. This old town bring my childhood memories back bc they have the best food and mostly of them can’t be find in Bangkok bc they still do mostly of “boran” unique,rare food and rare dessert from the scratch and keep it very authentic flavory in Ratchaburi= (Laatboli -pronounced in Thai )👍

Ya know why I could never do food videos, Gary? I couldn't stand to wait to eat while showing and describing the dishes I was already served. The food looks fantastic, the ambience and friendliness was out of bounds, and I thank you for taking us to Ratchaburi for this treat. That shrimp paste and rice was out of bounds, that was a whole container of the shrimp paste I get in that one wok. A special video for sure. Happy Father's Day!

Khao kluk kapi is one of my favorite dishes. Caysorn Restaurant in Haymarket is one of the few places here in Sydney you can find it.
Very organised and clean, I think Gordon Ramsey would eat it. I definitely can’t eat that much lol😂
