that a excellent tool that came with the american lock kit
thanks for checking it out! It is a really nice kit to have!
I would think it would come with spare bypass wafers, to add to older locks or put a couple extras in so someone with a wafer breaker has a bigger challenge.
Yes, that was my first thought immediately after seeing this video! A major oversight I would say.
Thanks for sharing!
This video helped me quite a bit. I took my Abus 72 apart and the whole latch mechanism fell out and I had no idea how to get it back together. Now I just need shims and a follower so I can put the pins back in.
I'm glad it helped!
Glad you are learning
thank you for the kind words
That’s a very nice kit 👍

Thanks, just wondering.
Thanks for checking it out!
boy that tool is a lot easier than trying to reinstall the actuator with a screwdriver. where can I get my hands on this kit?
ours came from HL Flake
This kit
Cool kit,
A while back I didn't know these kits were made... so I literally pieced my own kit together, those extra screws & sets are a godsend to have in a kit... I found a guy in Ebay selling them in sets of 5 for 8.99 free shipping so just over a buck apiece. Along with bypass wafers for the same price.
But a lot of the stuff I got in my kit was from cleaning out a locksmiths scrap bucket. Take the locks apart and keep all the parts. And over time I have enough to stock 2 kits. Lol
Let me know if you want some extra shackles? I have a few that won't fit in the kits. To full. Lol...... First world problem. Lmao
Thanks for sharing!!!!
Steel Pinnings having some extra shackles would be cool but I don't technically need any at the moment. You can always email me at HelpfulLockPicker@gmail.com if you did have some extra you truly don't need I'd be interested though. These kits are pretty cool :-)
nice...that is mint!
Jeff Moss thanks for checking it out:)
I see that Master (American) is making changes to the kit...The bottom pins in the kit are generic, American use to include both serrated top and bottom pins in the kits. The cylinder bypass shields are missing be sure to get those. BTW I love the detainer tool.
I think if you lift the inside cardboard showing what it services, you might find a chart listing what is in each bin. I've never owned one before, so that's just a guess. Really nice actuator tool. Great video.
William Mancel thank you for the suggestion, I will have to check it out :-)
Wow that’s a great kit!!!
And I like the info on how to take Americans completely apart!
Great vid!
Thanks !
Thanks for checking it out!
Wow! That is an awesome kit! I’ve never seen this one before, very cool :-)
Lock Noob thanks for checking it out:)
Awesome kit. Very nice demonstration on the tool. Good luck with it!!!
Briarberrycove thank you for the kind words!
Nice! I didn't even know these could be disassembled beyond taking the core out. I assumed there was a pin or something in the side that would have to be drilled out. Good to know that's not needed if I want to do a deep clean on one of these.
Yes, it's very easy to remove and install the shackle and actuator. However, I suggest not separating the spring from the actuator. It's a little difficult to get that back on. Same process for a Master ProSeries BTW.
AsteroidsOnSteroids I think you are right, this should be pretty cool for a deep cleaning I think it will make shining up my brass one a lot easier I can take the shackle off
Tyler Rhoads cool, thank you for the info :-)
Had a question about the face plates.
I have 5 or 6 American locks and on some of the face plates the A stamped on them faces up, some faces sideways and then some face down.
Do you know why this is?
Does it have a hidden meaning???
Love the videos!
Chris
chris capune I am not sure but I know that there are different sized face plates and I'm not sure how those are marked
Top notch kit and very well demoed. 5 star my friend.
uklockpicka thank you for the kind words!

Albert Lebel thanks for checking it out:)
DId you find what the name of the punch follower tools is? I would like to get one. Thanks for the videos, I have learned a lot in the last few minutes!
I am not sure the name. I was asked this a few weeks ago, it is just included in the kit.
@@HelpfulLockPicker ok I appreciate it, take care and thank you!
Awesome kit and a great review. Also seems to be a good price point for what you receive in the kit.
T Cress thank you for checking it out :)
Quite a nice piece of kit, a pinning kit & spare parts kit. Nice.😎🍺✌
Don'z Lockz thanks for checking it out :-)
Really informative. Thanks
Thank you for the kind words!
Did this come from Mr lock? Also, is this the tool you are using to tighten the actuator back into place? Thank you!
