I have a special tree that I greet when I head off to work and when I come home ! I have hugged him and thank him for his shade and beautiful for many years ! He corrected me when I decided to name him and he told me his name as crazy as that sounds trees do speak if you take the time to really listen ! They’re sentient beings !

I have an apple tree in my backyard. We’ve been here for almost a decade, but only for the past couple of years have I been harvesting more of her fruits- ACV, apple tarts, apple butter, applewood-smoked goods. I plan on doing something to venerate her this year with a garden altar. This video came at the right time since I’m planning out the rest of my garden 🌱🌿🌳

    Great video 😊
I’ve found that growing plants 🌱 from seeds has been the best way for me to forge the strongest plant allies. I’ve got an allotment now where I grow almost all of the items I use in my regular practice.
If I find tree seedlings in places where they won’t do well I do move them somewhere better if they agree & then continue to tend to their needs.
This year I have two oak tree “babies” growing at my allotment that I didn’t transplant there so it seems like I’m being gifted tree allies now 😉

Starting this process helped me after I moved to Alaska from the South West. I felt so cut off from the energy around me, and from my practice. I've slowly grown new connections over the years, but it's an ongoing process. I'll definitely try your meditation idea with the room in the tree this summer (if the snow ever melts! 😂).

I was walking around there and thinking about how intense the plant life is... Full of fiery energy. All the plants are tough, hard, and able to endure the harshest conditions. I was wondering what kind of powerful spellwork you could do with all that fire energy as well... So many opportunities for strength and power! You'll have to let me know what kind of cactus magick you come up with! 🖤🖤

I believe things have both spirit and energy. Their own spirits that give off different energies that can change from time to time. So a plant has its own spirit but sometimes it gives off different energies if that makes sense. Like theres a certain energy i feel when my plants want to be watered. A different one for when they want to go outside and get real sun light. I feel like mother earth has her own spirit but if i get a crystal from her it contains her energy but also has its own spirit based on the conditions it was formed. Like how amethyst transmutes negativity. Idk if i explained that right

For a year about, I've been building a deep connection with the Bradford Pear/Callary Pear. As I got to know it and be able to recognize it, I realize that many trees, pretty much every tree I ever grew a bond with were Bradford Pears.
One thing, so I do this dark, dark practice that effectively steals parts of the animal spirit and add it to myself, but this tree seems to be willingly giving. Like, instead of siphoning gas from someone's car, I'm opening a dam.
I have a lot of the berries/pears that I use in teas that I harvested and dried, and will sometimes eat the fruit but not the seeds. I always talk to the tree before taking, making sure I have consent.
Btw, dandelion was brought over to America as a food crop. You could consider cultivating it. Also there's pink dandilions you can get online. (I'm a fan of dandelions too) Popoton is dandelion in Japanese.

I do appreciate the emphasize of working with local plants consider how much we are damaging our local ego regions. I go for a walk every morning through a graveyard and around our little town.
I pass this Huge oak. It is hollow and still very alive. If I could do it in privacy I would meditate in it. Maybe if I get there really early in the morning… I will work up my nerve.
I am wondering how you or anyone else deals with non-private things like this.
It is behind our apartments and probably would only be seen by a few people, one of those has already spread rumors about me I think this might verify things that people around me fear.
Probably just being paranoid but can’t be the only one in this type situation.

    • @IvyTheOccultist
      @IvyTheOccultist  2 года назад +1

Oof.... That's a tough one. I am not fully out of the closet myself, and I would be a hypocrite if I said, "Don't care what anyone else thinks!" I completely understand that struggle. Although, when you're in a graveyard, I feel like it's a lot more acceptable to meditate. Outsiders might just think you're spending time with a loved one. I don't think it's weird at all to sit quietly in a graveyard... They don't need to know what you're doing. For all they know, you could be praying to a Christian God! If you're really concerned that people might think you're strange, maybe bring flowers with you or some sort of offering. People seem to think we are much less evil with flowers in our hand, and they are more likely to think you're there paying respects to a loved one who has passed over. Or... You could embrace it and not care what they think! For me personally, I don't do any rituals or meditations in public. It's not because I'm worried about what others might think - it's more because their energy is extremely distracting to me. I can feel their energy radiating off their bodies with little control and no matter how much shielding I do... It still affects me. But I am also blessed with a private backyard where I can do my rituals outside in peace - and I know not everyone has that opportunity.

@@IvyTheOccultist I do have a house also. I live with my son in his apartment and the house needs so much work that selling it isn’t an option.
It is this one specific hollow tree. It is big enough to sit inside. It’s a huge pin oak. I imagine meditating inside it to connect with the plant spirit. This huge strong presence to connect with and to ground me.
Maybe I will buy a rosary. This is a very Catholic area. Having that might appease the neighbors. I think that’s what I’ll do.
I wish I could add a picture here. The oak is beautiful and I sometimes imagine in meditation walking into an oak and through to another place… it looks just like a tree I would imagine.

I've always felt connected to water and earth but water more. But, last year I felt that shift to earth more. I have met witches in person and online and I've noticed that water and earth are the most popular, I would say fire is third and air last. Do you have an opinion why so many witches connect to water and earth? I live in Arizona, so the majority of the plants and animals aren't usually in other states. I have my favorite Palo Verde, when I water it I usually rub one of it's branches, rub a leaf or flower and I also say Hi, how are you? My Dad thinks I'm nuts. I also say hi and how are you to animals too and again my Dad thinks I'm nuts 😂 I bought a cactus in a pot notebook from walmart in January and it's going to be my desert grimoire, for all the native planta and animals.
