I think that Cougar shirt could be an attractant!! Good you had your wife along in case first aid was needed. Direct pressure!!

Nice feature, Dan! Very much like our uk pike fly fishing, only we tend to do it autumn and winter, at present our waters too warm for it, pike become oxygen stressed after fighting hard and many don't survive after release, unless caught from deep cold waters, like the Scottish Highlands lochs. My local pike water is a fairly shallow canal, you could probably cook an egg in it ATM 🤣
Would love to catch a muskie!

Thank you David - ironically, Muskie fishing improves as the water temps get warm. I was fortunate to hook into two this trip in just a short afternoon of fishing. Cheers!

Thanks Jade! It's a labor of love for sure. I was fortunate on this trip to get into a Muskie right off the bat. Missed another one that was over 3' long!

That Sage RPLX was probably made in the 70's, and still one of the best. A bit heavier than the RPLXi that replaced it, but a real workhorse with lots of power.

One of my fathers fly rods that I’m fortunate to have. Good fishing karma too!

No kidding! My arm starts to get a bit tired after a while hucking the 6" fly it takes to attract these monsters!
