Hey Pier, definitely visit Pandamaran for the amazing Yao Yao Ping Restaurant, many good bak kut teh restaurants, and also plenty of seafood restaurants too! Not to mention the very friendly villagers! 🫶
LOVE this video! You captured the true essence of the Jade Emperor prayers. I love how the villagers all so welcoming. The true spirit of coming together to pay homage to the Jade Emperor!
thank you! i was told it used to be even bigger celebrations. But many younger generation moved out from there and after MCO, some business owners no longer spend as much for prayers
Wow..both of you got invited to join the family of The Famous Yau Yau Ping family to celebrate Jade Emperor Feast...so so lucky lar. Their Yau Yau Ping Restaurant is most famous and well known in Pandamaram.
Thanks to May, who is handling the wanton noodle at Yao Yao Ping! She was so kind to invite us once she heard we were in Pandamaran to shoot the prayers. 🙏
OMG! So much celebration and prayers offerings in this village. The fireworks so amazing ! Nick, you and dad so lucky to get invited to the place! Very enjoyable video. 5 stars! 👍❤
Yes JoLian, we were very lucky to visit their restaurant for lunch and they invited us over! Otherwise we wouldn't know where exactly to shoot the prayers. 🙏
Aloha ! What an awesome occasion. So festive. I am not a religious person at all. It is just interesting to me to see all these elaborate and colorful offerings as welll as the spectacular fireworks. I am glad you post the fantastic video for us to watch. It is nice that the people offer you the jelly koi fish to eat. Thank you for sharing.
Hi NICK and FATHER, thanks for sharing this amazing video of the HOKKEIN 9th Lunar Day festive celebration in PANDAMARAN, Klang Yes, this festival is observed and celebrated on a very large scale by the HOKKEINS, because I'm a 1/2 hokkein from my father's side. Glad that you and your father were warmly welcomed to join in the festivities. Awesome However, I am of the opinion that this "THIN KONG TAN" is celebrated in PENANG on a bigger scale. Can see that you and your father really enjoyed immensely walking. The fireworks and fire crackers were unbelievable, guessed everyone are anticipating a happy, healthy and a very prosperous Dragon Year Hope that you, your father and family too have a smashing year too. Now I know you are a TeoChew Cheers and take care -- PL
Hey Philip, i was told by the villagers that the prayers were on much bigger scale before covid hit. After 3 years of MCO, many still recovering from financial losses and scaled down. But i was still in awe with the amount of fireworks! 😂
@@Nick_catman Hi Nick, very true. The COVID and subsequent MCO lockdown brought lots of misery ... some lost their life, other lost their love ones, many lost their jobs, even people who kept their job got their salary slashed by 20% to 40%, and of course, a lot lost their business. It will take years to recover financially and emotionally. At least, we are seeing lots of Chinese now are trying to rediscover their ancestral roots. Thanks for putting in the effort, time and energy to share with us the atmosphere of celebration Cheers and take care 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Please don't stop making videos Ah Nick... everyday I watch your videos along with my dinner. Hahaha ganbatte ~
