Big Fan of Gunnar. I say his videos are like the America's Test Kitchen of fly tying. He tells you why, not just how. He got me back into fly tying after many years. I have tied some of those pheasant bugger jigs and I like them very much, especially during the salmon fly hatch here on The Rio Grande river in Colorado. And where I live there are Pike in the river.

Hello Gunnar😊 I did about 6 different searches, to see how you set-up your Cameras and audio/microphones etc. & couldn't find anything on that by you. Finally it occured to me that maybe you're too humble and probably don't have what others call a RUclips "Studio" 🤣!! At any rate, I've been tying since 1979. In 1982, I was selling Steelhead flies for $6.00 a dozen to fly shops!! Disparate for money huh??! Plus I built fancy rods of all kinds (fly rods are super easy). While I was going to college, I tutored math at school ( through 3rd. term calculus) + taught martial arts at someone else's Dojo + guided people from as far away as Denmark for Pacific Salmon (4 species) to "Real Secret Spots" and also I promised my clients that we wouldn't see any anglers on the whole river. + I also guided archers for Elk (we have 2 kinds)!! The Roosevelt elk (Coastal Elk) are the largest-bodied elk. They can only be found in Oregon, Washington and B.C. Canada. They have a small number in Alaska (Compared to Oregon/Washington). We have them on another piece of land a mile away, so it really is feasible and economical to get a year's worth of the finest red meat anywhere (the meat has neither any residual antibiotics nor Bovine Somatotropin hormones)!!. I'm a retired Fish Pathologist. I'm fishy all the way around, in the mid 1980s, I discovered the cause of a devastating fish disease, and you may be able to read it in your state Library. It was syndicated in newspapers for the whole planet.

Gunnar has heavily influenced my fly tying and fly fishing. I tied up a box full of the various pheasant rump patterns featured in his 4 weight chronicle series. I'm yet to fish them because I'm having too much fun with my new Mojo Bass rod with RIO Outbound Short sinking line. This video reminded me to dig out my 4 wt and pheasant rump jig flies

By the way I Really enjoyed watching this video and if you'd like to catch some big "Pacific Steelhead" and Salmon then come on over. We have both Summer & Winter runs!! The real Sea-Run Steelies are far stronger, than those in the great lakes!! I also guided a Very Cute lady from the home of your ancestors (Scandinavia),!! The first trip was for for Dog/Chum Salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) and a lot of fly fishers, underestimate their power and break their rods!! Anything smaller than 9 weight, is just too small. She stayed in our home with my wife and I, because otherwise she'd have to sleep in her old car. At nights, In early April, it was still very cold. Also we were almost next to a National forest, at high elevation. A neighbor had a border with the forest!! If you're ever hear, I'll take you fishing for both Steelhead and Salmon (Chinook, Coho/Silver, Sockeye and Chum), depending on the month . I'll guide you at 1/2 price😂!! Of course that's a joke!! It would be free, for both you & your wife, as long as you stay in a hotel/motel. Our home is under "remodeling". It would be great if you'd show the RUclipsrs, would like to know. Thanks

You need to get him to tell you the story of how his wife told him to become a fish bum.
