Lyrics:
Where have you gone?
I walk in circles
Back to square one
Made it through yesterday
Spilling wine, thinking of the time
I wrote you a melody
Rolling your eyes, I held your hand a while
You need not say anything to me
I hear you loud and clear
Loud and clear
I’ll take care of everything from now on
Where are you now?
Who will show me how?
Wait for the sun
Say hello, maybe it will come
You watched the hummingbirds
Naming every one
Do you have a minute for me?
If you don’t mind, I’ll be stopping by
To count all the little black clouds
But, don’t you worry
Please don’t worry
I’ll take care of everything from now on
Where are you now?
Who will show me how?
I’ll take care of everything from now on

Violet sounds so good harmonizing with her dad. Leave it to Dave to create a clone of himself to sing back up so the harmony is perfectly magic.
I had no clue! That makes these vocals that much more amazing!
Best comment ever 🤘💀
Her voice is perfection
I never knew that! This makes it 10x better
Wow that is so so amazing!
This song is incredible. You know a band is special when they are still releasing amazing stuff after 30 years.
After 28 years I still can't believe it after just 13 months (Taylor Hawkins passed) they released this masterpiece. But we need it more than ever. My all-time favourite band.
Eric Matthews rip-off

@@marcomorcaldi1414 I’m sure you must be surprised to receive a message from me right?.
I hate to burst anyone's bubble but I think that this song is about Dave's mom, Virginia. She was his rock.
Oh, absolutely. And the beauty of having Violet sing back up on a song about her grandma. ❤️
This is the most beautiful Foos song since Aurora. Absolute heaven to listen to.
AGREE! February Stars and Statues are excellent old but never fading songs for me just like Aurora always has been. Thank you Dave and Violet.
Ohhhh I couldn’t possibly agree more !!
I just saw them perform this at Glastonbury and instantly thought of Aurora - still one of their greatest tracks. Severely underrated 👌
I won’t ever get tired of this song, just like Aurora lives inside of me
@@reniisgod It brought Walking After You to mind for me; a pair of amazing songs 25 years apart
We had the privilege of seeing Dave and Violet perform this with the band in Minneapolis last night. What an amazing song and performance.
There's Nothing Left to Lose vibes right here. Melodic, easy going, but at the same time sad af. Best song of this album so far.
I was just going to say that, I think it's my favorite album of theirs
Really reminds me of Aurora.
@@TheStevenRK yeah, also reminds me of aint it the life
Ooooh yes! I can hear Aurora and a little bit of Next Year in this.
Is it just me or am I getting on the mend vibes in this song as well?
This is 1000% the best song on the new album.
Violet sounds so great with her dad. Loss of a parent is difficult especially after losing his best friend. God I miss my Dad!
My condolences 😢
16 years since I lost mine and the pain is still very real. We can only move on and remember.
this song made me cry about my dad who passed away 4 years ago
Think that's Dave and Violet Grohl singing together! What a powerful song and wonderful duet, rest in power Taylor 💜💜
I believe it's about Dave's mother and Violet's grandmother.
@@wildewouteroh you're so right, it makes more sense looking over the lyrics 😭 may Virginia Grohl rest in power, what beautiful people she's given us 💜
Yes
This is def about his mom
She has a beautiful voice
One of Dave's most shoegazy melodies..ethereal..wilderness.. nature..another realm where the spirit lives on, but back in the real world..we have to cope with one less shoulder to lean on...
Foogaze
@@settingsun3470 😂😂
its not shoegaze. it is the loss of his mother. ugh
@@jeanninelewis4741 wasn't a critique of the meaning, more the sound...I know what it's about..but thank you for clarifying...urgh. Lol.
not really shoegaze but i get your point, i feel like the only shoegaze foo fighters song is floaty from their first album, dave got inspired from britpop/shoegaze bands from the moment
As a Father of a daughter, it brought tears in my eyes hearing these two together like this...
Glad to know I am not the only one bro
I am wondering if this song was written for Dave's mother, who passed away last year too. Dave and Violet loved her a lot, and the two have a powerful father-daughter bond. It is a beautiful and emotional song
I’m with you here - not stopped crying. Beautiful
@@DM_1313 *It is written for his mom yes. The album is dedicated to his mom and Taylor Hawkins. His daughter Violet is amazing in vocals here too! ❤❤*
@Zack Darce *It is true. I read some articles about it and how it's a tribute to his mom too.*
The loss Dave has went through has brought us beauty. He will never give up music and I applaud him and the guys for this. Amazing song. Amazing vocals. Well done.
Sang by Taylor Hawkins 😁🙏
@@jwest31176 sung by Violet and Dave Grohl....
Violet has such a beautiful and hypnotic voice. Perfect for the song ♥
Oh God, Violet's voice is indescribable, it harmonizes so well with Dave, thank you for such emotional music, I love the Foofighters so much 🙏🫶
I've heard of this group but typically don't listen to their music. I've heard my co worker playing this song several times and had to know who sung it. . Now it's added to my playlist
Have been listening to this on repeat. It’s the perfect song for a melancholy mood.
same
I love Violet on this track!! You did good Dad.
Hello, How are you doing today? Nice meeting you here.
Thank you Foo Fighters for showing us how👍
All my kids are in their 30's and 40's now and all were raised right with Foo Fighters always playing in the car. Road trips with them to go see Foo~~parties with just Foo. My son heard this and looked at me in a way that he never had before. He knows he'll be in Dave's (his hero) shoes at some point. How refreshing is that? David Eric Grohl.....showing everyone how. What a gift. Virginia, you're loved and missed.
“Show Me How” to move on after losing loved ones in all of our lives. This is a beautiful song that shows us all dignity, grace and peace in remembering and moving forward when those we love pass away. This will be a remarkable album when it’s released. Not only because the songs to date are so heartfelt, but because of the circumstances surrounding their being written in the first place. Rest in beats and peace Taylor. Love to Virginia Grohl for ensuring that Dave could pursue his dreams at such a young age. ❤️🥁🎼🎸
Interesting thing to notice is that at the end of the song it is only her voice singing, referencing Daves' own passing away...
@@oliverarunovic3438 Indeed. So very true.
That must be Violet singing with Dave, her voice melts me. Amazing lyrics amazing song. Peace, be still Taylor 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I have a feeling this was about his Mom.
It reminds me of Virginia Moon a bit.
Was wondering whether it was Violet singing. Their voices really compliment each others. What a lovely bittersweet song
This is going to be THE album of 2023.
I was actually in the crowd the first time they performed this song live. It was amazing, still can't get it out of my head.
How lucky for you. I think I would have been in tears for both of them singing through their losses of Taylor and Sweet Virginia.
Just lost a family member, this song sums up my feelings perfectly. Thank you Dave .
Violet's divine voice is otherwordly on backing vocals. Also I hear quite a different drumline than usual for the Foos... interesting. An absolutely gorgeous song.
This give me some "walking after you" vibes. So emotional. It's gonna be a great album
Absolutely! Especially the deeper tone of his vocals. Love the comparison.
Yes!
No way as good as Walking after you but I like first 2 songs on album so far especially under you
@@godzilla400 I'm getting more of In Your Honor disc2 vibes, but I'm totally with you on Walking after you too. Anyway timeless stuff.
I knew this reminded me of something... that was it!
Couldn't love this more. Has a little new, a little "Floaty", a little "Touch". This is a vibe for my whole summer.
THIS!!!! I thought it reminds me of floaty and touch too
A sequel to floaty
VERY Touch.
I can't think of another father/daughter ensemble to record music together like this, but I'm young so don't come at me. 😅

Such a beautiful song. An absolutely perfect song in every way. Dave and Violet’s voices are so perfect together, singing a wonderful tribute to Mom and Grandma. Goosebumps all over. ❤
It’s Inara George.
No, it’s his daughter Violet.
@@Nevererasealwaysrecord Ah you’re right. Just looked it up. My mistake!
@@BeauCardwellReacts Seems fitting since the song is about his mother, her grandmother. Beautifully sweet really that she has an incredible voice and is now old enough to properly sing with her father, and be in his band. Not something a lot of kids get to do. She’s lucky. On the negative, she’s been old enough for a good deal of time to see, and understand, all the losses of friends/manager/mother, that Dave has had to go through. That can only build character and morals in a teen these days.
And Taylor 💚
These are words, you feel and say, when you lose your mother … God Dave … yet another stunning song. You’ve captured all the melancholy … Violet sounds just beautiful. Now I’m really crying. ❤
Seriously! I lost my mom right around the same time, and this song hit me in the feels. Love Violets vocals, and the imagery of the video- with the forest and the streams- just beautiful
The very heart of the feels … but these songs are soothing at the same time So sorry for your loss … me in 2021. This is a magnificent album already, can’t wait for the other songs.
❤
Lost my mom in October so when I first listened to this it broke me down in tears. Especially the video, my mom loved nature and animals and so the powerful imagery of the forests and streams really hit hard.
I’m so sorry to hear that, I also in 2021 Yes the day it came out, this song floored me the song and then the images I just cried all day. Actually I think you need a reset like that every so often it was very cathartic too, losing your mother changes you forever. My mummy loved nature too.
When she would see forest fires on the news, so would become physically upset.
TAYLOR STILL WITH US WITH THE MUSIC HE PLAYED 🙏🌍🕉🌺🌻
Definitely a 90s feel reminiscent of the Sundays and does have a Nirvana feel in parts too. Love hearing the Grohls singing together. Violet's voice is just magic, so good to listen to. And Dave's words...he IS the Storyteller. I wish it didn't fade to end though.
So glad it wasn't just me who got the Sundays vibe! Violet's voice so redolent of Harriet Wheeler. This is a disarmingly beautiful song.
I miss Harriet so much..still makes me cry to hear anything reminiscent of Sundays, My Bloody Valentine..
I think this new sound is exactly what Foo Fighters needed.
It's what we all needed. When Dave hurts, we hurt. 💔 💔
I feel this one is about his mother... "Thinking of the time i wrote you a melody" is probably a reference to virginia moon, a song about his mother too. He sang that one with norah jones and this one with violet. The style is similar
I think that first verse is about Taylor and the second one is about his mom 💔
Best Foo Fighters since the 1990s. His daughter harmonizes beautifully.
This. Heard the first few bars on the radio this morning and thought, who is this?! I love it! It reminds me of the past! Boom.

I love when they sing together.
Crying like a baby! Truly touching and what we all need right now! Thanks Foo family!!! ❤
Gigante
This album is great so far.
I think this is the best Foo Fighter song I've ever heard, a big part is Dave and his daughter harmonizing. Normally the Foo Fighters aren't my thing (aside from the amazing first album and Overlong), a little too safe and MOR, but this is incredible, kinda shoe gaze. Having Violet (?) sing on this was a masterstroke...
Everlong...
LUSH and DREAMY!!! I love hearing these two sing together too. Pretty special.
I keep coming back to this... The "I'll take care of everything from now on" just gives me chills and tears. God, I love this band. ❤️
My usual taste is far more progressive but something about most FF songs cuts right to my core
I knew that one day there would be a song with Violet❤❤❤❤❤, a beauty that can't hold back tears😢😊😊 R.I.P. Taylor 🤟🤟🕊️
Arguably the best song the Foo Fighters have ever released. Taylor Hawkins inhabits every moment of this video. RIP, Taylor. You are missed. 😔
i feel like this song is about meditation and healing especially with that video.
The slow melodic guitar and lyrics with the contrasting faster paced drum beat. This is an instant classic.
i love how her voice becomes the intrument in some transitions of the noises.
Dave Grohl is dipping his toes into shoegaze. I like it.
Beautiful, calming and violet and Dave vocals are biblical
Biblical?
@@jovanreid6782hallelujah
They have probably made some of their best songs in the lasts years
I read the lyrics to the Foo's Statues at the close of my mom's funeral in 2019. Right now I am in my mom's hometown where she is buried next to my dad. I am hearing this gorgeous song and thinking of my dear parents, missing them. What a gift this song is.
The Colour and the Shape vibes. Perfect in every way. Beautiful harmonies, so vulnerable and tender. Cried my eyes out on first listen. 💚
This song is like a cold drop of rain falling on your face in the dry dessert. It feels like hope. Thank You.
I have recently lost my dad who was only 56 years old. During his illness, I heard the tragic news of Taylor Hawkins´ passing and a bit before the publication of the latest three singles, I also read about the passing of Dave´s mother.
These songs have probably had a huge healing impact on Dave and the band, but this effect is spreading out to all the ones who have suffered a similar loss of both a friend and a parent (my dad was to me both). So I wanted to thank you for your art, your songwriting and all the healing energy that has been packed in the upcoming album.
Everything Violet touches turns to gold 🤩
Hello, How are you doing today? Nice meeting you here.
Guys, I think we have the "Wasting Light" of our decade 🥹🥹🥹
Honestly, imagine being able to come up with another album of that calibre. But.... I've heard four tracks so far, and they are so good. So you may be on to something.
Wasting bud light.
This is miles better
I can already see this album becoming one of my favorites
I couldn’t agree more. Def on to something with that.
Lost my mother a year ago, and this song is a truth and a salve.
I think Josh Freese is the one who can take care about Taylor's legacy in Foo Figthers drums. Thanks for those 3 (by now) such great songs❤
I'm pretty sure this is dave drumming for the record, freese is the live drummer
He seemed a good fit from what I saw on the thing they put on the internet with the sophisticated name.
@@ryangreig9477 that would be correct.

Is that Violet singing? Her voice is just gorgeus and so fitting for those gentler songs.
Yes that’s violet ❤️
This song repeats in my head everyday. My favorite from the album 💿

Yes very melodic and poignant, simple lyrics. Taylor & others in our hearts for sure.

What a wonderful song. Violet and Dave's voices are a perfect match, beautifully harmonized
So fucking beautiful. This whole album has my heart. This reminds me of something airy from the late 80s.. Something about that syncopated rhythm and Violets beautiful harmonies /vocals 🖤
Violet's voice...🎯♥
Hello, How are you doing today? Nice meeting you here.
Awe, Dave and Violet together! How spectacularly sweet.
Hello, How are you doing today? Nice meeting you here.
Exactly 15 years after my dad passed away this song brings tears to my eyes
One of the best tracks Foo have released in year's. I hope the albums hits this tone.
Wow, I never thought the Foos would come up with such a gorgeous, dreamy melody! It's got this shoegaze vibe, and the vocal duets are just beautiful. And if you listen closely, you can catch a few "more obscure" chords underneath that instantly brought Soundgarden to mind. And we all know the inspiration behind the lyrics. This is hands down one of their best songs ever written!
YESSSSSS I COMPLETELY AGREE!!! It has a dream pop/shoegaze vibe. It reminds me of floaty and also touch (the duet Dave did with Louise post)
Completely on point, I really get that nostalgic 90s shoegaze.
Crumbled in a few seconds - how beautiful is this. Gorgeous, Violet's voice is transcendent. Sense a mix of a few songs by the FFs and it's a beautiful tribute to Taylor. The video is perfect.
Hello, How are you doing today? Nice meeting you here.
The songs so far on this album hit home after losing my mum suddenly and of course the loss of taylor and daves mum. It's almost like dave's words sum up everything you feel after the loss of someone so close to you . Its great he has that connection with fans who have been through the same thing. RIP Taylor and nice one foos. Back to your best with these songs.❤
I know the feeling as well, I lost my mom suddenly back in October. This song and album perfectly convey how it feels to navigate through loss.
Violets voice on this, god she has such a beautiful voice
Gorgeous. I’m sure Virginia is so proud of them singing so beautifully. It stopped me in my tracks when I first heard it. Thought of Taylor…but think it’s more so for mom. Either way you have to be made of steel to not have that performance melt your heart. Wow. ❤
Hello, How are you doing today? Nice meeting you here.
If like me you've been a fan since Nevermind, its absolutely mad to think back and listen to what Dave Grohl has been a part of......
Totally in awe....
If you’re grieving. This is the remedy. It touched my soul. Very beautiful in so many levels.
I don't even like foo fighters tbh but this song is amazing. I was listening to an alt rock playlist with my wife and this randomly came up. Just really great music with a dreamy quality.
It’s all been bangers so far. I have a feeling it’s gonna make it’s way in my Foo top 5.

I'm a huge fan of Dave's clean vocals and I absolutely love it when he duets with a female vocalist like on Virginia Moon with Norah Jones.
I was definitely getting those Virginia Moon vibes during this track. I love that sound with Dave's soft vocals and the chill groove.
his daughter is singing back up vocals in this song....she sounds awesome!!
this is going to be one of the best FF records
Absolutely beautiful ♡
This song has got to be for his beautiful mom, Virginia. Dueting with Violet makes it that much more an emotional and loving tribute. ♡
So lightweight... so smooth.
Aspects of someone that faced many deep things and see the world with different eyes.
Yeah yeah yeah, the harmonies are amazing and all (they are). Can we take a second to appreciate the visual direction of this video? It's absolutely beautiful and complements the song so well
Is this the new Beck single ? The most slickly produced FF I’ve ever heard.
I love this song, the vocals the melodies the way they perfectly harmonize. I won't lie though, this song made me shed some tears because just like Grohl I also lost my mom around 8 months ago and my dad 14 years prior so this song definitely hit hard. Beautifully written and performed!
Beautiful song. Their voices flow together perfectly.
I really missed this 99 early 00's foo fighters sound :')
Violet sang on stage last night in New Hampshire. A natural just like her Dad.
Love how the video starts with a cloudy/stormy look and slowly transitions to sunshine at the end with the river still flowing forward.
Subtle stuff they got going on in this lyric video, that follows the transition of loss and pain to acceptance and moving on.
A beautiful anthem for whom we think is Virginia who is an epic role model. This song with violet singing "Ill take care of everything" is heavenly. Bless this song. It reminds me of my time in Ashland Oregon and my family that lives there.
