- 100 watt light filament fails when switched on at two minutes 55 seconds into video.
Ordinary household type, nothing special, don't know how old, it was just a spare.
It just happened to reach the end of life at the time of this video.
Was testing light bulb collection and to check camera automatic exposure response.
Recorded on the 6th of February 2019
Notice how at 2:35 when the incandescent lamp is switched off, the clock face is barely glowing.
Yet immidiately after the other bulb blows at 2:55, the clock face is glowing brightly.
This indicates that the failing lamp produced an ark, releasing a large amount of UV light for a very brief period.
who are you who are so wise in the ways of science?
Of course. But I wouldn't have seen it. Thank you, very interesting! The large current when an arc ignites is also to blame if the fuse blows together with the light bulb. Incandescent bulbs are the best light bulbs because of their beautiful light. 💡 💛 And by the way: You can see a glow at the bottom near the base, this is the built-in fuse of the light bulb that has blown. This fuse is intended to prevent the circuit fuse from being blown.

Is that a radium clock in the background?
Probably is
2:55 because of the UV the light released it captured the energy and started to glow for a bit.
Those elongated bulbs at the end scare the hell out of me… especially in unfamiliar creepy basements, garages or attics
true
Uggghh to us vintage light collectors, a burnout sucks. Hence why I started using dimmers. What u need to get a hold of is a super bright photo flood bulb rated @ 500 watts. Or even better, a 1500 watt mogul bulb.

When where giant ones invented
Halogen bulbs usually pop when they go out

Hello. It’s a chance to collect the bulbs, you were lucky. They all work. But, on the other hand, there is one that snapped? who jumped? Or did you put it on, the one that’s ruined?
No way
This happened to me and 2 friends of mine in science class. It's the one reason I'm thankful for covid 19
I remember that
Is cuz you dumb ass thought that was a good idea
It was not my idea tho
@@aidanhuson4559 bruh says u
I mean I wasn’t the person who put 5 batteries together
Burnout 1 blub
I don’t think so because they 0:11
destroy the LED please
There’s no reason to. It works perfectly fine.
@@achannelwithaprofilepictur6253 I'm not repeating myself... and im not willing to type out so much on why CFLs and LEDs are bad
