  • Hi
    It's Black Friday good folks and the much awaited and requested free skiing footage of the WC racers is finally being released.
    As much as I like watching WC Racers race on a WC racing track on TV there is nothing better than watching them practice on a training track. However, even better, for anyone knowing nothing beats behind the scenes clips of the racers final drills and turns before blasting into the gates look no further!
    This is video #1 as I have quite a lot of it and not to make the videos too long I decided to split them up in 10 min videos including slow-motion for technique geeks like me.
    Have fun, leave a comment.
    Tom

    Would you allow me to analyse the slow skiing they are doing over on my channel?

    Nice work! Holy no snow but still a go! Do you have another version where everyone has a name? ;) asking for a friend...

    • @Triggerboy62
      @Triggerboy62  3 года назад

      Thanks for asking but I don't have one with the names. It would be a detective's work as many of these racers look alike. Also, first race of the season and some have changed skis brands and other gear. Also, you cannot always see what nationality as they have soft shells over their racing suits and some are here for the first time and there are no pictures of them or videos. Not saying it cannot be done but lets see if I could make one with all the names on it. I need to compare every skier to the first run on TV. So tell your "friend" I will try my best and make one for him :)

    Thanx a lot for filming! You did the best out of the conditions (actually no slope for "freeskiing" actually....)! Somehow strange to see the racers making STEMMSCHWUNG (German for garland? this is where you opne the ski ind of snowplough ot initiate the turn/transfer weight....). Just do not see what this is good for.

      Thanks for watching. Yes, it is strange to see the best racers in the world work on such basic things. Also drills and techniques we all taught was totally dated. However, that is purpose of this video, to really go behind the scenes and see what they are up to. Due to the Covid19 situation I was this year not able to go close to any of the racers to take selfies or to talk to them. I would definitely have wanted to ask what they were up to.

    Great!!
    How many runs training of SL for day and for week?

    • @Triggerboy62
      @Triggerboy62  3 года назад +1

      These WC racers train on a daily basis year round with some time off in the summer and when trawling. Before a race like Levi the racers usually come to the area and train two times a day for a week or two. Once they arrive at the site of the race they train once a day for two-three days and then an hour in the morning before the race.

    Awesome video, but not exactly what I would call ”free skiing”. Maybe more like ”warming up”? PS. Free your mind and your ass will follow 😁

    • @Triggerboy62
      @Triggerboy62  3 года назад +1

      Yes, not really free skiing but as I mentioned in the description, final moves before starting training in the gates.

      @@Triggerboy62, yes. From what I have heard, seen and tried (myself), ”slow skiing” is quite common method among top skiers. For warming up, I mean. Perhaps surprising, but it does work!
