Andrew I am new to your channel and have watched several of your videos and really like what I have seen. I admire your work ethics and how you show the amount of work it takes to keep the farm going.
Andrew, i ran a 7750 and a 7780 until we switched to a Claas 980. Does jd offer auto steer with windrows. I know Claas does. (We never had it. I think Claas auto fill was around $11,000.00. we just went with the auto flap option (maybe $5,000.00). As you moved the spout front to back the flap kept a straight line. I enjoy watching your videos. I admire all the jobs you do on the farm and i can see you would never ask anyone else to do a job you wouldn't do first. I try to abide by the same policy. I believe you can earn a lot of respect that way. Keep up the great job. I left farming 2.5 years ago and my brother and i own a manure spreading business here in Lancaster, Pa. We are loving being business owners but as you know, it can be challenging at times. Take care and God Bless!!!
KEVIN SHAIEBLY yes it has auto steer. We had a 7750 and a7780 as well and they both had auto steer to along with rope finder on corn head it would feel the rows and steer accordingly.
Looks like it's working, yes the price is alot but when you get to trust it i think it will be a big benefit to the operator. After chopping all day that's one task you don't have to constantly watching.
Holy crap! I never had even thought this would be possible right now, nevermind an option on a chopper in 2018. Some kit for sure. It could maybe be even more accurate at speed if there was like two beacons on the trailers that transmitted their position to the chopper
Looks nice but it's feeling a little too much for me can you set it down to where it doesn't fill it so full I ran 8500 all day yesterday and I seen all the options in there you're talking about
John Deere , we had a couple different 3970's as well I do recall that of what you are talking about. The bar that went on the wagon draw bar and the neck would turn with the draw bar.
man if only we had something to cut haven't made any hay or silage all summer atleast its raining today we'll see how much we get but I bet we are going to have to buy all of our own feed
Barend van Lindenberg it's nice, be a lot better in corn. I like to round the truck up a lot more than it can do. I actually dialed it down to fill up to 100% instead of 125 and used it hit and miss and that option is ok to.
Andrew Hourigan I was in Germany last December with JD at the factory and they told us they are working on making it better and that it can be used to open up corn fields when blowing behind you. That would really be a nice feature to have.
Barend van Lindenberg yes and it was just recently introduced as a field install. I didn't order the chopper with return to home function for the pipe, that has to be installed.
Barend van Lindenberg no when it was getting planned out I figured we would still be on corn and didn't go. As it turned out we were done with corn and u could have went. That was the fall of 2016 and last fall I don't recall any talk about it.
Forgot to mention: it has a price tag of $10,000.i might need to start up a Patreon account to pay for it....just kidding
damn, thats a bit more then a dashcam haha
seems like that takes all the fun out of driving
The joys of new toys! That helps take the learning curve out of the machine!

Alex I think the earlier one were setup like that.
That is rather an unique tool, thanks for showing the automation. ....13
As always another informative video thnks Andrew
How well does the system work when the truck is behind you? I.e. opening/splitting corn fields
Phillip Clark it suppose to work really good ,I have not used it for trucks following yet.
Definitely neat piece to add on. Just need to mortgage something
Great video, what silage boxes were you using along side this chopper?
The truck Silage boxes I built
This is incredible.
Pretty soon your going to be doing videos in your house coat and slippers, sipping a cup of coffee. LOL

That is pretty neat you planning on getting it
This Is totally amazing!!
We had something similar to this on our jd 3970 almost 30 years ago.
John Deere , we had a couple different 3970's as well I do recall that of what you are talking about. The bar that went on the wagon draw bar and the neck would turn with the draw bar.
its kinda like auto steer you get fine without it but once you get use to it..... your up a creek.... hard to go back not having it
Ted Kahler true
I think you need that I think you would like it in corn silage days get long watching that pipe off to the side all day
Blane Heinrich very true
Ive got a 6850 deere and i put a cab cam in the cab and one on the spout works good and a whole lot cheaper
man if only we had something to cut haven't made any hay or silage all summer atleast its raining today we'll see how much we get but I bet we are going to have to buy all of our own feed
What will they think of next crazy.
How did you like it? I’ve got active fill coming on our new 8300 harvester

Andrew Hourigan did you get a chance to go to Germany with Deere?

Pricey option but it does seem to work!
You better keep it, the (wind) never blow very bad and it kept it in the truck.. So you say!
David Wells that's right
Pretty cool.
Ron Grose I took the video this morning after about the 5th load of the day after using it on and off for the whole day it seems pretty good.
Interesting device. All you need now is windrow autosteer and you could work on your taxes while monitoring the machine.
Dale Braun the chopper does have auto steer as well.
What’s YOUR opinion then? You gonna get it?
MrMagnum7220 as of right now I could take it or leave it. It would be an easier decision if we we're chopping corn. I
Does it make the spout move more often than manual? Will it wear out anything quicker?
That's crazy
just going to ask that question
Day ahead of yourself bud it's only the 13th lol
David E I'm superstitious the number between 12&14 isn't in my vocabulary.... I'm joking. Usually I'm a day behind
I'm at least 7 days behind
For 10k I'll guess your thumb works fine. Haha.
Spilling
Better put sides on it so u don't spill any lol
John Hatt I cringed a bit when that happened. That's what happens when the camera comes out things get a little wonky..
Ive got a 6850 deere and i put a cab cam in the cab and one on the spout works good and a whole lot cheaper
Jarrod Aldrich cab cams work good we have them on a few things. This camera automatically turns the spout and loads the truck.
