- We had a chance to run a John Deere 9700 chopper with the all new Deere 18 Liter engine in it rated at 800 horse power. This engine that Deere has developed does not use diesel exhaust fluid. Very nice chopper.

That price tag is unbelievable, now I know why you take good care of these machines
That’s quite a beast! You didn’t even hear the engine lose power when you hit the windrows. I love the no DEF aspect.
Non farmer here, never realized how careful and vigilant the operators have to be about the F word 🔥 very scary with such expensive iron!❤️the content Andy!
It’s amazing how much difference a 100 horse makes
Impressive machine I’m sure the changed fuel fill location would make you very happy priceless ! ! !
That machine is insane! So much power
Good John Deere dealer brings you something good to a farmer because most of the time it doesn’t leave
Thanks for the tour Andy - both are nice machines. John
Thanks for the rundown on the 9700 chopper.
Nicely done.
Andy! Glad to catch one live! Cheers
What a beast. You’ll need more trucks with that beast.
Wow. $1.1 Million. That is insane. Did I hear Andy say "when we ordered ours"? :). Beautiful machine.
Wow , i hope the city people realize how much money it cost to provide a great tasting glass of milk or a delicious steak for the dinner table . An how much risks it is to provide food for the country . Andy you really show the real ins and outs of daily farming . Love all the Hard work you put in to your you tube channel . 👍
City people don’t have a clue. Hell they don’t even know what hard work is. Every city person should have to spend a week or so on a working farm. Most of them would not survive.
That was a great video Andy
That's an impressive chopper, I like the no def feature the most.
Great Video Andy 👍 I seen that John Deere put that 18L engine in and 4 Track John Deere and WOW! She is Big. Thank you keep up great work
Incredible machine Andy, great video, crazy how far they’ve come since the 7300/7400.
True
Wow Andy! A nother great an informative video! Thank you!

Thanks Andy for sharing your life , your time and have a good day
Mr. Andy!
Awesome video Andy 😊
I could hear the difference in HP, Nice chopper.
Awesome demo!! The 9700I really ate through those windrows. Too bad they didn’t have a new 46R pickup header to demo also. Thanks for sharing Andy! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Quite a beast...certainly a large investment!!! For the acres/tonnage it will harvest, reliability is a large part of the decision of when to trade.
Good luck Andy
Big decision to make
Nice bunch of information Andy. Thank you for doing that demo video appreciate it. Who was running the camera from behind the Chopper they get a real nice job.
Sarah has it on the front of her truck
Awesome video Andy ✌🏻💚🌱💯 I wish you could get all the best equipment available 💯✌🏻💚🌱
Good job Andy
Beautiful machine
That 9700 will look good on your farm 🚜
That machine is cooool Andy. I think I will buy one to sit in my driveway. Nobody in our town will have one.🤣🤣
Awesome machine Andy. I hope your able to pull the trigger on it.
Nice Chopper Andy, I just had to go drink a huge glass of milk to help ya out when I heard the price! Will have a beer to celebrate if you buy it! 🍺 Thanks for another great video.
6-7mph and sounding like the reigns are being held back , no def, big$$$ but looks like the moac. Thanks Andy for showing us that 9700. Wow
Nice drone shot
Those 9000 series are pretty sweet. My dealer has now sold 3 9500’s. I’m waiting on my new 8000 series. I would have loved to have bought a 9500, but we aren’t big enough to justify that size.
Nice
Great big tractor power video. Equipment is soon going to price farmers back into rebuilding old equipment again
Very nice machine
That baby jest eat that hay up. Andy love it be safe buddy
We sure have come along way from the corn binder and silage blower/chopper
Nice chopper!
Great machine 800 horse
With that kind of price tag I believe the way you do maintenance the old one would do for a few more years with no problem. Being a Cummins you could probably get a tune on that motor and have just as much HP and that big motor would handle it better than the new ones.
The 18 liter Deere is promising. Time will tell how the hold up. The 19 liter Cummins has bees around a long time.
As the farm grows and more family works together, any chance in the future of running 2 choppers? No def is fantastic! More companies need to work towards that.
Might as well finish this season with yours and order a new one and get exactly what you want
Wow❤Great demo the power was very noticeable!! Again you and momma bear great family team work and it shows God I would love to see a family discussion, Little HEATED lol boy circle the wagons PEACE
Andy, Midland has some really good farm radios.
Love it
That 9700 might just work into your future good luck
Setting hear thinking 7 miles a hour means 2 or 3 more trucks I guess the deciding factor on buying it is their a place in your ceiling for your beer 😮😊😊😊 Thanks Andy
We have the trucks
Run the demos as much as you can Andy, it's less hours on your machines. It's just facts, farmers that feed this world have to fight and scramble so much. It's ashame.
Even if the only difference is 100 hp and no def needed that would be worth trading it for. But I’m sure there’s a bunch of nice little upgrades
Saw this on a 48 ft flat bed here in Michigan a flexheader for a combine
Another good video Andy KEEP THEM COMING 🐄 🚜 🇺🇲 🌽 🐘 👍
Great info and the improvements to the machine including no DEF is a winner. Is it BOGO buy one get one for 50%? Time to make the trade deal, they can take yours back to the dealership and leave this nice new one there.
if you are looking to upgrade hope you get to would your heads interchange where you could do a big rebuild on them to make the upgrade work i know when i worked on the farm here they upgraded combine one time and kept the heads (corn and grain table ) heads was in real good shape so they kept them
👀🙄🐾👍Great video Andy
Man you guys are moving
That deere looks a nice machine big price tag but as you know the price will keep going up every year and the old one will be worth less. With the price of new machines these days this is why dairy farmers need to get at least 25% increase in the milk price, hope john deere give you a good deal thanks for the video andy.
It would be nice if they could bring it back out when you do corn silage
Hey there Andy, I hope this finds you well.
There hasn't been another John Deere engine that's been as highly anticipated and warmly accepted as the new 18L John Deere Engine, that is not since the 955-CID V8 engine was introduced in 1981.
The Cummins and the Liebherr were just "tide me over engines" while Deere's Research and Development "Power Team" has been hard at work on this new 18L Powerhouse for more than 5 years, and what about its Not requiring DEF, a feat in itself?!
One of the BIG improvements in this new engine is fuel efficiency, said to be better than the 15L Cummins, and rivaling the 13.6L Deere.
You need it, and Deere wants you to have it, so what are you waiting on?!
I hope you have a good one, my friend!
"Nothing Runs Like A Deere" 🦌 👍 🇺🇲
Maybe in a couple years
@@FarmingFixingFabricating
The new 19L will be out then, and the mark will be 900 HP, as the march to the magical number of 1000 HP continues.
"Nothing Runs Like A Deere" 🦌 👍 🇺🇲
Isn't it amazing how much driving on dry ground is?No ruts and saving fuel. The field is the same as found it.
Don"t forget to get the beer cooler option !
I'll take one a those 9700's... I need somethin' to drive back and forth to the grocery store....😁
Thanks Andy very informative 🚜🚛🚜🚜🚜 I🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛
Andrew said he would dig into his piggy bank and give u a loan..I heard him say it, he just wants enough left to get a bag of gummies..Great Vid👍👍👍👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺🍺🚜🚜🚜🚜
Get er bought!
It's got your name all over it Andy lol 🙏🤣💰
Oh Andrew would love to run that new chopper...more power😂
🇨🇦 Andy, the price of a new chopper might be high, but consider down time, it’s extremely expensive. Hay drying too much and truck drivers waiting, watching you fix it 😂 might justify trading your old chopper. Around here the custom guys do less acres than you do and upgrade on a regular basis to avoid the exact thing. Ralph
Awesome, but I would shake as I signed the check. 😊
Hell....I'd buy it just because of the fuel fill location 👌
Lot of money sitting there.
She just gobbled up that haylage!!!
Don’t expect that air compressor to blow the chopper. The oil bath bearing seems to work nice but it does leave a mist so a lot of dust sticks in that area. Having the bearing temperature in the cad is a great improvement. Loosing my auto roller adjustment from the cad was a disappointment.
Yeah you need around 100cfm to blow a machine off
Hello Andy crazy amount of money. I wonder how many man hrs to built one. Can hear the difference it sounds stronger chops with ease. I like the spout I think less wear but the end will need attention down the road. Another great John Deere product. Have a good day.
Wow unbelievable new is nice but new doesn't last only you know when it's time to trade
What's the trade in value on the old one? And what does it cost to completely refurbish the old one? is it more cost effective?
👍👍
Wow! That is a chunk of money for something you will trade in 5 years. On the other hand, you probably spend 40 twelve hour days a year in it and that is an incredible number of tons of corn and alfalfa chopped. Only you can crunch the numbers and determine what the right answer is for your farm.
Tax benefits weighs heavily on the decision.
What would the trade in value be on your chopper for a new one and could your heads fit the new chopper or is there some major differences?
You'll have to get some "Brown cows " and start making chocolate milk to pay for that 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Great video as always 👍
One for Sr and one for Jr
The early shedlage processors made by shrer that were put in the 494 series class jaguars, had the pressurized oil lubrication with air. Then they went to greased bearings that hooked into the auto greaser. Wonder why Deere didn’t go to greased style….? I always thought the special oil you had to have for those bearing was really annoying to have to keep around and it was very expensive.
Now that I know the price, a pull behind chopper would do a good job as well.
That's a lotta bread...💰
Your due for a new chopper, but I"d keep the old one as a spare. They won"t really give you anything for it anyway.
Swap decals they wouldn't know cheap way to upgrade tell them you had a grass to chop so you run up a few hours cheers from Australia
Incredible machine. Incredible price. Lotta milk needed to pay for that….
No DEF? HOW DARE YOU!😂
Stupid Gretta...
Holy crap$$$$$$!
Sure hope it has a beer cooler for that price.
Yes
Andy you going to buy that chopper???? LoL!!!
Figured you would have more hours than that. That air compressor would be handy.
You may have said but what is the fuel consumption per hour running continuously? Any difference?
Thank you by the way Mr. Andy
20-25 gallons an hour
It will be nice when the chopper comes with 1000hp.😊😊😮
Nice unit! Will give you 3+mph faster. I guess if you have 300hrs of chopping and your savings minutes ever day. With bidins cheap fuel prices you may be saving over all. But 800hp will be love that fuel.
Doesn't claas sell a 1000hp chopper? I think they do.
It is scary how much equipment jumped in price from last year ordered our new x1100 combine price increased 800 hundred thousand dollars from last year
Krone BigX 1180..1156hp..
That sob is hungry. What a difference!!!!
That is a lot of money for a chopper ! ! I am not saying buy it but it is interesting that if you can run 2 or 3 miles per hour quicker and you have a lot of acres to cover you will probably be done chopping a lot quicker however that also depends on the speed of trucks - if you are waiting for trucks the chopper speed doesn't help - anyway interesting that it can take the hay quicker
I would like to see that machine cutting silage.
Andy I thought you already Demonstrated that chopper? Nice one though!
