  • 🛶 Kayaking the Wild Ep. 5 🐊
    Day 5 of a 1 month trip through one of the remotest parts of this beautiful country Australia, Cape York Peninsula. We set out to catch lunch for the day, taking hand spears, fishing rods, hand lines, and timber bows. Living from the land can be incredibly hard work, but also very rewarding. Thanks for watching, hope to see you out here!

    Chow looks SO delicious! I learned when I was young that when you are hungry, and working hard in the bush, anything tastes good. But your grub looks amazing!

      @@BacktoBasics my pops and I brought back the exact meals we cooked in the bush and tried them in the comfort of our home...it was horrid! My mum thought we were insane how we raved about how good it was, until we had it at home. But geez, the meals you all eat look wonderful, as simple as they are.

    I always used to think that Mullet was only good for bait. Then a bloke at 1770 cooked up some big mullet. Oooooooh, the taste. Yummo. One of the tastiest fish in the ocean. It was delectable. Nothing beats fresh caught fish eh.

      I literally looked for a hat with the highest protection from the sun. As it was intense, especially on paddle days. Pretty similar to this one. thanks mate, all the best! www.bcf.com.au/p/sunprotection-australia-unisex-adapt-a-cap-hat/M37603901.html?dwvar_M37603901_color=Delta&dwvar_M37603901_size=OSFM&gclsrc=ds&gclsrc=ds

    you need to do something about the wind sound, really takes away quality. I watch all the other videos on the channel. Your buddy and Fran do not seem to have that issue. Seems it is about equipment. thanks for the series.

    How long does the fish keep for Az? & do you leave it whole for aslong as possible.

    • @BacktoBasics
      @BacktoBasics  3 года назад +1

      We kept fish in the shade, and snack through the day, and would either reheat in the evening or cook up fresh whole fish that we had hanging in the tree. It's amazing how long you can keep fish for. (In certain conditions) Whole as long as possible the best option though.
