True- even more impressive when you take into account the amount of play in the shifter. Upon further observation you may also note that the driver is very comfortable on the limit, judging by his placement of the car at the edge over wet curbs and constant inputs to keep the car on the circuit. The shot with the bent car on the flat bed is a very common site during non-race sessions under similar conditions. Great video!
This sounds incredible, kinda F1 sounding with all those revs and that superb engine scream! Also a massive thank you for the very detailed write up in the description about the car and engine evolution. Spot on mate!
Wow, incredible. Thanks to you and all the krew for the fotoage. My all time fav car. I am currently building a mk3 Capri with a twin turbo 2.9 cologne to race next year. Its a bonkers idea but due to the fact i will never be able to afford a GAA Capri its as near as i will get to experience this amazing machine. Good luck with the filming in the future

Friggin' guy has a Schrodinger gearbox in this car, the gears only exist if you shift into them. Also, 5:43, how to tune Escort suspension: "How stiff do you want the front sway bar?" "Yes." "How stiff do you want the rear sway bar?" "No." I love old touring cars, they're oversized go-karts filled with questionable engineering and they can't help but absolutely ooze personality from every slightly misaligned seam.
It was a nasty sounding car, but sadly, it Did not start on the first try... 🙄 Oh well. Still doesn't beat the 80s Zakspeed Ford or the 70s Hendrick tuned Chevrolet Monza.
That shifter lol. This guy is the gearbox whisperer.

My god that onboard sound is addictive!
Wobbly knob is wobbly.
Hmmm... those juicy downshifts and the footwork at the end of the straight.

Very good drive, that car runs really well wow and transmission doesnt miss! Thats an H pattern too not a sequential
Great video thanks❤ love the capri
Thanks!!!!
That shifter would drive me crazy, nearly had a couple of missed shifts.
Uh wow nice driving
Never mind that my mk2 rs2000 sounds just as good 😂😂Great car ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
WoW!
I wonder what is going on with the need to tap the brake pedal a few times with the left foot before braking for a corner? Pad knock off?
Yes
What his left foot is doing on the straight?
Making sure the brake pads are up against the brake discs ...1mm knock back is 3" of long pedal which = going straight on at the next corner
@@Dan_Minton Thanks for the explanation
