Well, it doesn't look like it was ready for the April release at all, BUT at least now we know that the mod actually exists and it looks promising.
Map is huge. Even if story sucks (hopefully not this time; I'm looking at you, Frontier NCR questline...), I will still have lot's of fun exploring this map. Exploration was also the best part of Frontier.
By leaking it and showing us some minutes of raw gameplay, you actually did a better PR for the mod than FOLON team did in recent months.
I will keep waiting for this mod. I'm more interested in it after watching this.
I agree that it looks promising. The main question for me is: how old was the build they used for this footage? There was a comment here which pointed out that you don't do stuff like the compiling of lightning for every test build, which sounds plausible for me. It's also possible that they used an older build to not spoil too much.
Edit: On the Subreddit was a comment, that this build was run from the Creation Kit and not from FO4 itself. I'm not a developer or involved in Fallout Modding, but it sounds plausible for me and would explain the stuttering etc.

Hope this project doesn't turn into vapourware, though it seems abundantly obvious they wasn't going to make their planned release date.
Wonder if development has slowed since their "indefinite delay", surely some people wouldn't expect to still be working on a project past that agreed date, especially on a free mod.
I imagine they might have lost some developers since then.

Okay so as a Modder who saw when they were streaming this I just feel like throwing out a few thoughts:
All of these are subject to change
The quality of the weapons that haven't been released separately is quite lower, Weird shiny texturing and odd models.
The sewer people look... not good, it feels like a poor design choice as they look like Halloween masks.
The Vats numbers at that range are quite low, I'm unsure if that's a Bug or if you're not meant to hit shit in VATS.
The weapon damage numbers are seemingly quite unbalanced, the Welrod having 50 or 129 damage at different times makes me assume the guns will be as unbalanced as base game fallout 4
Also as a thing about Textures, the food boxes look too clean.

You don't compile lighting and run optimisation for every single test build that you do. That would be a tremendous waste of time and energy. Lighting is one of the longest processes and the most hardware intensive. You don't even do that when designing maps for Half-Life, a game from 25 years ago! Games and mods often look terrible right up until the final build, which this clearly isn't.
Correct, it is unfinished. It would have been released at this point if Bethesda hadn't done their thing... but hey, it's unfinished :D

I believe the plan was to have separated external play areas for certain zones of london, but still looks damn impressive. A proper city skyline, when compared to what felt like a overly compressed boston area.
Y’know Zach, you could use the requisition terminal to not only build your weapons workbench but to build another bed for Mike so you two could be quarter mates. Just a thought to consider. @@luispalacios8423 someone else covered this topic in another comment but you don't render lighting and optimizations with every test build that takes ages to do so lighting an optimisation will be very different when it actually releases

Just because it has fish people doesn’t mean it’s like the frontier. The fallout universe already has some ridiculous concepts like the lost “electrical ghouls”, talking deathclaws, and whatever the wendigo colossus was. This could have been a result of a pre war company making a British version of the FEV virus or specific contamination to a dangerous location. It could also be a whole H.P. Lovecraft theme since their pushing that Cthulhu doll and could be a nod to Shadow over Innsmouth.
@@aaronstieglitz7357 I agree with this sentiment there are some ridiculous races of beings in fallout and they do have some Lovecraft style stuff in normal fallout games so it wouldn't be too out of pocket for any form of that stuff to be in london let's just hope they don't fuck it up cuz expectations are now higher for the devs
From what I know of the lore. Yup. Post war mutation from humans who live too close to the heavily contaminated (As demonstrated by 277 rads per second at the start of the dev's questing here) thames river, all released officially on the folon channel.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure this footage is ages old, so if my memory is serving me right that would mean that the game itself was not unfinished. Also, you were not meant to upload this footage, it's a great disrespect to the hard work put into this project to have uploaded this.
As someone who's been a follower of FOLON for a good time, I can attest that this footage is pretty recent (streamed after April 23rd I'm atleast >90% sure). IIRC this build shown here wasn't the current at the time but it wasn't far behind.

@S4INTW4RRIOR I am in the discord. And it was a nice thing for the devs to do to show the fans what they had been working on. Not to be recorded and for their hard work to be released by someone else. Nice for this "creator" to remove the voices at the very least. Otherwise, that would be crossing a privacy boundary somewhere. I just think it's sad that the devs did this as like a sneak peak, and someone has taken advantage of this. And as for the reasoning that this got leaked. Not out the goodness of the creators heart, that's for sure. And most of the discord server and the true fans know why he leaked this as well. Pretty low blow for a very petty silly reason. But have a nice night 🌙

I gotta say I'm impressed, when this went to freecam showing off london. It really did look like a mini london. While I find the concept of fallout taking place outside of MURICA rather retarded. I really like the map so far, its dead as fuck and lacking in threats clearly beyond unfinished. Looks good so far god knows why they have not shown off stuff yet they should be doing little mini dev streams every couple of months. Instead of some rando some discord uploading a random stream.
