Good sum up of all the safe modifications that anyone can(should) do for this already beautiful cafe racer. Good review. keep it coming. Question - Could the clip-on's be adjusted to suit individuals seating riding posture ?
***** thanks mate. check this new owners prospective review we have made on the conti gt. this video also contains the new modifications i have done to my bike like power commander 5, free flow header, new exhaust, lowered clip ons and a lot more. the video also shows the bikes of the chd cafe racer club and the mods they have done to it. check our page on facebook called chd cafe racer for modification updates, cafe racer culture, and everything conti gt cheers mate.
Thanks dude for your detailed feedback. I really appreciate. What about the new oil specs and brand you did use to reduce the vibration? I am really interesting in testing it in my next oil change.
+Fred Misik Thanks mate. I am using Motul 300v 15w-50 fully synthetic engine oil. I would apsolutly recomanned this oil, it really has worked wonders with the reducing of vibrations on this bike. And the bike also performs better now. check us out on facebook for regular updates on cafe racer mods and culture. facebook.com/chandigarhcaferacers/ check this video for further modifications we have done - ruclips.net/video/1IhaPE7_KUE/видео.html cheers mate.
Great review bud, thanks. Pity you didn't start the bike and give it a few revs to hear that beautiful thump, I have my eye on this RE GT and cannot wait. I have a list of links for aftermarket items and Hitchcocks is at the top of that list! Would be pretty cool if you could do a ride review using a helmet mount camera for instance if possible? Awesome bike, safe riding bud!
thanks mate. check this video out in which i have reved the bike a little. ruclips.net/video/e10Xwvjg6iM/видео.html. i will be doing a new video soon. as soon as a get a new free flow header. i have already fitted mine with a power commander and another new exhaust. and some more stuff as well. so i will be covering all those things in the new video. cheers
Awesome review, thanks for doing this! I'm in Brooklyn NY and this bike will be my next purchase :) Any way to safely do a road test video with voice over? Would love to hear your take on the handling and all the comments about the vibrations to the bars. Any thoughts on that? Thanks again!
glad u liked it mate. the handling of the bike is one of its strong points. really confidence inspiring round the twisty stuff. great brakes, tires and suspension. and as for the vibrations its part of the appeal of the bike. it is really a kind of back to basic, hairy chested feel u get from the bike. a experience u really want to roll up your sleeves for. but don't get me wrong it is in no way wayward or unsophisticated. the bike is massive fun, no kidding really as good as u think it is. trust me there is a masterpiece larking beneath this bike. with the right mods it would just be sublime. as i said in the video the motul 300v 15w50 synthetic engine oil really is a good and effective start to reduce the vibrations on the bike. it really has brought the vibes down on my bike massively. go for it mate there a really enjoyable motorcycling experience awaits u. any other quarries let me know. cheers.
Akshay Kumar Awesome Akshay, thanks for your additional comments! The motul 300v 15w50 synthetic engine oil tweak is a great suggesting. I will be doing this as well, once I pick up the bike. End of the month, it's mine! I will let you know when I get it, thanks again!
+Novlot08 Hey bro. this is the list of mods i have done yet 1. k and n conical filter r1100 2. airbox removal 3. power commander 5 4. all new free flow and lighter exhaust and header 5. 38 teeth lighter rear sprocket [stock one is 36 teeth] 6. the Bird likes you GT , I dropped into the Showroom for a Test for the Himalayan , I tested the GT as well and loved it , would ve booked it if they still sold the Yellow - i really loved it . Other Colors are good , but the yellow really stands out . Too bad they lost out on a Customer ,
+krishna sai hey mate. the yellow is not being sold any more. in my opinion yellow is a awsom colour and complements the conti gts shape. too bad they discontinued the yellow with the conti gt. the yellow conti gts r limited edition now. one thing u can do is gt a yellow one second hand, there r many conti gts on sale on the internet. u can get a low kilometers conti gt easily. cheers mate
You still on to your GT mate ? they are tonnes on the Second Hand Market now - Real low mileage like you said , wonder why - Am guessing people , want a regular bike , don't realise its character .. maybe the weight the stiffer shocks or the clip on Handle bar set up , which hits ur Back .. Its a Shame people are losing on it . I hear the Showroom sales have dropped too
krishna sai hey mate. Yeah bro still on my gt. Yeah bro it's a shame people r losing it. The Indian customer right now is not ready for a cafe racer concept bike. Indian customer is more into modern technology and styled bikes . Meanwhile in the west people moving more towards simple old schooland raw sort of cafe racer and bobber styled machines . It's just natural progression mate. There is a emotion and aesthetic only a old school machine can deliver . Indian customer was starving for modern bikes for so long that now the modern bikes r hear they just can't get enough of it. Mean while in the west people have had enough of the modern bikes . The vintage old school bike scene is blowing up in the west . I am not saying that modern bikes r bad , I love a superbike as much as any one but there is a sense of connection u can only get with vintage technology and styled bikes. I am never selling this bike my on going quest to make this bike better will go on forever. But it's a great time to get one of these there r loads of them sold at crazy low prices . Cheers mate

Hey bro. the changing interval on the motul 300v depends on your riding style. if u r riding hard all the time then change it around 4500-5000 if u ride it hard occasionally then u can push the engine oil change intervals to 6000-7000 kms. i change it between 4000-5000 as it provides the very best performance if being a bit early. but we keep the engine on the boil all the time. so if r reasonably aggressive with the engine u can push it up to 6500 kms. but this engine oil is amazing. go for it bro u will love it
+Akshay Kumar tnx for the info bro.btw I saw ur bike in its current state and its awesome..I would like to know about the mods of handlebar, headlights, taillight, turn indicators,n numberplate holder
Hey bro. Thanks for your appreciation. So lets start with the handle bars. the clip on handle bars on my bike is lowered by mounting then under the top triple tree. This lowered riding position is amazing and helps with the stability and agility in the corners. the headlight we r using is a smaller one then the stock light. The turn indicators r from carpys customs in Anaheim, US check it out online. u can order online too. The numberplate is welded directly to the rear subframe and a small strip of lights r placed on the number plate which works as a brake light. cheers mate
Hi, great video. Could you let me know if there's an annoying sound vibrating sound from the meters (rpm + speedo) while riding. Kind of like buzzing sound. Any comments I am really annoyed with that.

Good review Akshay, sexy bike. I wanted to ask if you install K&M air filter in it, does the mixture for fuel and air need to be adjusted with power commander or i can just go on without doing any adjustment?
thanks digvijay, the guy who installed the k&n filter said that when you install the k&n filter to this bike the EFI system adapts to the increased airflow to an extent. its been 1500kms that i have been running this bike on k&n filter and there has been no problems yet, its running great. but the perfect solution would be to get the power commander. hitchcocks have mapped a power commander specifically for the RE GT with k&n filter, with that the performance would go up even further.hitchcocks have put their power commander and k&n fitted bike on the dyno and they have registered a power increase of at least 20% that means the power would be around 36bhp. i would be fitting it to my bike in the future.cheers mate.
- Hey dude .. needed an advice about installing a K&N air filter .. there is one the market but that is for the classic 500 so am kinda confused about it .. also my bike has not yet completed it's full free services .. is it advisable to make the changes now or wait till the 'Warranty' is over?
hey rahul, u can fit the k&n filter available in the market that is for the classic 500. as both the classic 500 and GT have same filter sizes. the one i have fitted to my bike is a r1100 conical style k&n filter. if u get a round shape k&n from the market thats good as well, i fact its better as it fits the air filter assembly of the GT without changing the assembly. i ran the bike for 2000 kms before i changed the filter as at that point it was fully run-in and the engine was ready for some changes. as far as warranty is concerned its a decision u have to make yourself changing this kind of stuff on your bike might void the warranty. so u can think about this if u want to take this risk or not. if u ask me its not much of a risk these uce engines have plenty of room for improvement. and they come under stressed from the factory, so u can do plenty with them without any problem. try changing the engine oil from the RE liquid gun to motul 300v 15w-50 trust me its a must do change for every GT owner. cheers mate.
sidewaysforlife - Hey man .. thanks a lot for the suggestions .. I will def make the changes once past the 2k mark on the odo. Btw I already changed the engine oil to 'Motul 4T 7100 15W50' .. would recommend that over the 300v 15w50 ... just surprising that the RE liquid gun is pretty average
Hey Akshay i live in Chandigarh too n planning to buy the same in Red. Just wanted to enquire about its On road Price n waiting period n did u buy it from Manmohan autos?
+Karan Raj Hey bro. the on road price on the bike was 203000 but this included accessories like the sports exhaust and the bar end which are around 4000 each. the waiting period for the bike was 1 mounth but the waiting period now is a lot less as back when i bought the yellow gt it was the first in chandigarh and the yellow colour just came out so it took a lot more time then usual. the maximum it will take now is 2 weeks. yes i have bought it from manmohan autos. we have a continental gt group in chandigarh check us out on facebook facebook.com/chandigarhcaferacers/?fref=ts&ref=br_tf any help you want dont hesitate in contacting me. cheers mate
Akshay Kumar thanks alott Bro that was helpful. Just one last question I wanted to ask is about average, that it gives? Though heard somewhere around 20km/lts. Already liked the group. (y)
+Karan Raj Hey bro. if u ride flat out most of the time like we do u r not going to get more then 20-25. but if u ride reasonably fast then u will get an average of 30-35 kmpl. btw did u ask the monmohan auto stores about the waiting period for the conti gt.
+Akshay Kumar yaar they said their chennai plant has been hit bad by floods so waiting period might b a bit more. As they are already behind by some orders. So now m going for it next year March with another friend buying the same.
+Karan Raj yeah bro the plant is also effected by the floods and production is kind of slow. its coming back to full production gradually. i heard today that they have started to recover pretty well. keep me posted on your gt purchase. btw check this owners prospective review we have made on the conti gt ruclips.net/video/1IhaPE7_KUE/видео.html
