That solo was incredible... hell the whole performance was. There's a difference between speed and then someone who can play this fast but still have such a groove while doing it. Unreal.

100%. Chris is such a monster drummer and has been for a long, long time. To me, he's one of those "Super-drummers" you talk about on your channel sometimes. You described the various stages of drumming so perfectly too; from tears of frustration to next-level professionalism. Great video!
Chris Coleman happens to be one of my favorites. He hits so hard and so accurately and with those Thunderclap snare hits on that Evans ambassador head, give him,in my opinion, one of the best snare tones I have ever heard. Like a 20 year old bourbon over ice in a crystal glass, SMOOTH. Chris also has an interesting biography. Humble beginnings. Dedication and hard work paid off for him. He's definitely on my top 5 list. He does a playthrough on a song called Gaia at the main festival in 2017, which is also a Kaz Rodriguez tune. The snare tone he has in that video is enough to make you soil yourself. Lol. Best snare tone ever. It is worth checking out Andrew. Let me know what you think. Love the channel my friend. Hello from New England Andrew..For a big dude he's definitely got that finesse and superior control..Man when he was rolling around the whole kit made me drop my sticks and holler: my God man come on..At the start of this song those off beats on the snare as he kept that 4/4 on the cymbal reminded me of the opening of THE ART OF DYING by GOJIRA..This guy is one of those upper Escalon drummers..Great vid Andrew..Peace from the Northeast
Yesssss finally a CHRIS COLEMAN reaction. He drums for Beck in case u didn't know. He was incredible and that's when I discovered this guy. He is definitely one of the best I've heard in my 30 years of drumming.

You don't see a lot of Chris Coleman on Social Media. He has nothing to prove either and is one of THE top driummer of today. When Dave Weckl calls, you know you're something special.
I know you're joking, but for sure we're all drummers. Look at Charlie Watts from the Stones. He was one of the most basic drummers ever yet how many hits did the band record? Ringo Starr and the Beatles? Phil Rudd and AC/DC? Lars and Metallica? And on and on we go. Good to know we're all actual drummers after seeing God. LoL
I listened to this through my headphones i went through a load of words shouting out swear words etc my misses came in to see if i was ok! 😆 Chris is a huge influence i just love they way he executes songs to way he hits the kit so so layed back and the rack tom tuning superb i cant say enough about the guy, A true legend in the world of modern drumming.. 👏

i wonder if some of his kit choices are made for utilitarian reasons, rather than how they sound. I play a kit in the same configuration and I have a 20" kick so my rack toms can be low enough for me to play comfortably. Also, i wonder if his tom heads are so tuned so high to get faster doubles. You see a lot of the drumming greats do things simply because they work better for live performance, rather than sound quality. Another example is the late Neil Peart. He valued head durability over tonal quality due to the amount and length of shows he played.
Pretty sure I had Stallone face the whole time. But seriously, if this isn't an advertisement for diligent metronome and clarity practice during your sessions, idk what is.
Kit isn't small - you're forgetting to account for the size of the player and the sticks. And I don't even want to run into one of those sticks in a dark alley at night.
I have played drums for many DAYS and I still can't play that well! :D Nah, just kidding. I do, however, now understand the high tuned toms. They break through the rest of the ensemble like a bunch of shotguns. And the 16" HH doesn't, which leaves it to be "just a hihat" and float where it sounds the best. There's been some good thinking when building this kit. And a deeper pocket has never been found.
Any conversation about greatest drummers to ever live that exclude Chris Coleman aren't conversations, but rather lies. Buddy Rich would hear this guy play and wish he could pull off half the feats Chris does. This guy is a combination of Gartska, Weckl, Vinnie, Donati, Royster, Pridgen, etc. rolled into one.
