Thank you! I been spewing this narrative for a while now. GOHAN WAS NEVER AFRAID OF FIGHTING, he was afraid of what would happen to himself if he ever let go too much. Even in life or death situations, he always has been able to step up since after the Saiyan Saga. HE WAS THE FIRST to lay paws on Frieza after he transformed
I think its appropriate to compare gohan to a professional boxer or mma fighter When his opponent is a friend or someone he respects, he has a blast cause its like hanging out with them
He hates being forced into a life-or-death struggle, as anyone would. He likes training and sparring for fun with friends and family, because neither his life nor the world are at stake if he loses.
Heck even the life or death situations Goku is in he doesn't like eg:against raditz, vegeta,Frieza (before SSJ), perfect cell, kid buu, the T.O.P, Moro and many more
Pretty good video. I never thought about how Vegeta never really enjoyed fighting till later in the series. It really shows how gohan seems to like fighting but not death matches (which is usually all of his fights) I think the difference between Goku and gohan is Goku can take enjoyment from these death matches (winning or losing) while gohan doesn’t like fighting to the death or fighting to save his family from danger; in other words, he’s like a normal human
Gohan doesn't HATE fighting as a kid, but sure thing he doesn't like it either. I also think one of the reasons he seems more into fights later is because he was supposed to be the new protagonist of sort, and as Toriyama noticed it's quite difficult to work with a protagonist that has no drive to fight. Vegeta hates losing, but he still can't wait to throw hands.
This video really makes me think about future gohan and how he must've felt fighting those androids alone for years. You making a video on it would be cool
@@AhmedHussain-ju6xd that’s part of the reason why people theorize that future Gohan was so much weaker then his other timeline self. Training by himself because he had to.
If Gohan has to be emotionally triggered in order to fight and will shrug off training during times of peace that’s enough to tell me he doesn’t like fighting, and in terms of his character it’s not a main priority unless someone’s in danger. Gohan fighting when others are in danger isnt an interest in fighting but an interest in protecting since Gohan is a traditional hero at heart.
it's not about "life or death." Goku likes fighting people who are stronger than he is, even if it's just for fun. Gohan likes helping people and spending time with his pals. That's why Gohan stopped training, because his motivation for fighting is directly tied to helping people, and he did not need to be stronger to help (until Buu).
Great video! The editing was amazing! I never realized that I wanted a video like this. Gohan’s attitude towards fighting seems to be heavily influenced by his environment.
5:16 him fighting ginyu is definitely a negative experience as he has taken over the body of his father which while in the story doesn't really come up as anything important realistically that wouldn't be good for gohan especially right after getting his neck broken
I think looking at it, it's pretty obvious he doesn't like it, but he doesn't not like it either, he's just neutral about it. So yeah, when he's getting the shit beaten out of him of course he's not gonna like it, but it's equally obvious that when he dominates or when he just spends time training with his loved ones he's gonna enjoy himself.
I don't know if they patched that out, but ten years ago that was a hack to permanently drop someone's subscriber count. Each unsubscribe you did would decrement the counter, but only one subscribe per channel ever counted as incrementing it.
Gohon does in fact down for fighting and that is do to his constant life or death fights he gained a enjoyment for fighting, it is like a gambling addiction formed from constantly losing
Nearly all of the things you count as positives are him training with family and friends. It could be that he enjoys training, but he only ever does it when forced or with the people he loves. It's much more reasonable to assume he enjoys spending time with his loved ones. Gohan never trains for the enjoyment of it, and never alone.
I’ve always seen it as its just his hobby. He enjoys his hobby and he’s good at it, hell he can even go professional with it. But then it’s a job not a hobby and it ruins it. Sometimes you stop a hobby and sometimes you come back to them. He likes fighting his friends, but he hates being the sole protector. Which is childish, but he is a child. Its why his character as an adult is realising he has to do it because its his responsibility and he cant hide from it

Gohan enjoys fights, but when they are not life or death situations, maybe. I don't know actually. Edit after video: I don't think the moment when Gohan fights Dabura was out of enjoyment. He felt peer pressured by Goku and Vegeta, even if no one seemed aware of it.

Now, with Beast and Gohan SECRETELY keeping up his training... yeah no, that doesn't work for me chief. I’ve always seen Gohan as a more reactive fighter rather than proactive. Gohan may hate fighting but Gohan hates seeing innocent people or his friends hurt more than he does fighting. He will fight if he has to
