You can't unhear that or unsee the video and therein lays it's strength, Cate Le Bon seems to be both musically and stylistically uncatagorisable and there's certainly nothing wrong with that!

« In the remake of my life » is such a POWERFUL opening line! It really hits me on a deep level… it opens so many questions on the passing of time, regrets, not being able to change who we are and our previous actions… very very well phrased in just a few words.
OMG OMG OMG!!!! I just was binge watching Courtney Barnett vids and saw "If I Don't Hear From You Tonight". I'm proud to say I instantly was like: that bass player I'd swear is Cate Le Bon.......some of those guitar parts have that unique Cate Le Bon tone and rhythm, and I nailed it! I searched it, and yes that's them collaborating! Love them both. How amazing. Brings me immeasurable joy. Cate looks so freakin cool in the vid too I must say, and her guitar licks bring so much to the mix. I'm sure it will be a nice new treat for long time Courtney Barnett listeners.

yes exactly, it's too soft and mellow for the Bowie Ziggy influence for me, but fair enough everyone sees it. I asked my wife when I first heard it and she straight away said Duran Duran from about 1982. I thought Japan straight away. Great track either way, so cool.

Absolutely! I truly believe the opening on white background with outrageous makeup and blue suit (the same blue as from life on mars vidéo I think) is a direct reference
