    Roger Sadowsky is such a gentleman. I was once on holiday in New York and went to the Sadowsky headquarters in Brooklyn, no appointment, not enough money to buy a bass, just a young, curious bass player. Roger welcomed me, let me try a few different basses and took the time to chat and give me some friendly encouragement. By the way, these Metroline basses are incredible!

    I’m such a fan of these basses. Have owned several including the 1st Gen Metro, the Japan production Metroline, and Japan MetroExpress and now a Chinese MetroExpress. And Roger is such a great guy. Always welcoming in the Brooklyn shop and then LI City. It’s rare you get to meet a company founder, let alone have him treat you like a customer that spends thousands, when maybe your just picking up some strings or a preamp. Never able to afford an NYC, but have found all the Sadowsky basses Ive owned to be more than sufficient to meet the needs of any gig. These are one of those instruments that once you get it in your hands, you realize what all the fuss is about. You pull a Sadowsky out of your case at a sub gig, and there’s almost a sigh of relief from the bandleader. Like “ OK, this guys gonna be fine….no drama”. Good health to you and yours Rog…..your work will always be appreciated.

    Roger's instruments are of A-1 caliber. I own three ('98, '08' '22) and have been playing Sadowsky for the last 24 years exclusively. They are superior in recording and live performance environments. Attention to detail is flawless! Extremely easy to dial in depending on venue, house engineers love 'em! I am able to achieve any sound I desire out of each bass! Cheers Roger, you've enabled me to make a happy living using your supreme basses to get the job done! I wish you continued success and a long, healthy journey on this planet!

    Congratulations to you both, Roger and Lars, for finding the perfect partner! Nearly 10 years ago I started dreaming of having a Sadowsky NY bass because I fell in love with the steroidal Fender sound. Luckily, last year I got one of the German-made vintage J/J-MetroLine instruments… so fantastic in build quality, balance, setup options, playability, haptic, and first and foremost in sound (Ni round wound strings). Nearly 7 years ago I started dreaming to play like Lars. To grab one from Roger was the easy part; to play like Lars, that’s much harder 😉 Keep the inspiration, all the best to you both, Frank

    Roger, although we've never gotten to fish together, I'm glad Lars here got such a good interview with lots of details for everyone to know about, something I don't think I could have acquired while out on my charter boat. I'm sure that when you are fishing, you want to get away from the biz for awhile, at least most anglers do, lol. Real glad to hear about your international endeavors and quality control. Great job Lars, Roger!

    This is so awesome! Sadowsky’s are amazing basses. I currently own quite a few Fenders, Pbasses, Jazz Basses 4-5 strings and I own 2- 5string Metrolines one is a Japanese Jazz and one is a Hybrid German. I’ve owned Fender deluxes,Elites,Ultras before but my go to Favorite Basses that I don’t dare sale are my Sadowsky’s. What a well Built Bass with an Incredible tone.

    Great interview! And congratz Lars for your official enrollment.
    Quite reassuring to ear so reasonable words from Roger about not spreading the production line.
    Too bad you didn't ask him about "reverse pickup blend" knob affair! ;)

    • @claudiohohagen
      @claudiohohagen Год назад +2

      Hey Bob. if Imay, this is the logic of the reverse pickup blend : It's not about which pickup you're selecting, it's about presence. When you turn the volume knob in a certain direction you get more volume, if you turn the blend knob in the same direction you get more presence, you cut better through the mix because you get more mids

    It's nice to see the acknowledgement of Leo Fender and the foresight to not modify vintage instruments. If I get into the market for a new bass I'll definitely try a Sadowsky. I already have the preamp in my Fender Jazz.

    Mr. Sadowsky, If you make your way to Montana please contact me. I'd love to cook a gourmet meal for you and your guests. I'm beyond pleased with my new bass. It sounds so good and crisp.

    I have a quick question about the Sadowsky pre-amp. When you're changing between active and passive, does doing this cause much of a volume difference between active or passive? I know I'm some instruments there's a huge change, and on others there's almost none.

    • @etiennemoolman5887
      @etiennemoolman5887 Год назад

      On most active circuits which have a switchable passive option, such as this one and the Lākland pre-amps for instance , the difference in gain is adjustable. There is a tiny trim pot in the circuitry inside the back control cavity, which logically works the same as any volume pot, ie. Turning it clockwise increases the active output.

    • @royhoward119
      @royhoward119 Год назад

      @@etiennemoolman5887 thank you. I may be wrong, but i don't believe there is a time pot in the Sadowsky.
