- To get protection as a refugee in the Netherlands, you have to request asylum. From that moment, you will be a part of the asylum procedure. During this procedure, the Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND) investigates if you are a refugee recording to the European Convention on Human Rights. In the Netherlands, you can request asylum if you're afraid to be prosecuted in your country of origin, if you're afraid of the death penalty or torture, if you're afraid to be violated or if you are traumatised due to events that happened in your home country. If your asylum request gets approved, you will obtain a residence permit. If your request gets denied, you will have to leave the Netherlands.

During all the phases of the asylum procedure, asylum seekers will be supported by on of our employees or volunteers. Do you need a Visa?

If you are officially a refugee and have the documents to prove it, then you won't need a visa to travel to the Netherlands if said documents were given to you in a Schengen country. You may need some other documents to travel to our country, but it depends where you start to travel. If you got your refugee documents in a non- Schengen country, then you might need a visa, not in all cases. During my stay at the Ter Apel, someone probably my room mate rubbed/ stole all the money I had, the exact amount is 2000 Euro, 300 USD and 70 Thai Baht. I already lodge a compliin at the Police station in Ter Apel. Because of this lost, I am mentally totally disturbed and fruated. I want this money back if possible.Or I want to work in Netherland. I dont wanna spend sitting idle. If these are not possible, I would rather go back to Thai where Myamar nationals are legally allowed to work and survive.

I am Mohammad Jawad Issa a member of a big Syrian family in Lebanon.
Our living situation is getting worse every day, the house owner wants to increase the renting fee, and we cant pay for that.
Me and my brother can not go back to Syria because of the compulsory military service, and if the Lebanese police find out that w did not pay the accommodation fee they will send me away to Syria , we can not stay in Lebanon, because we have been threaten by the house owner and there are many reasons that I can not discuss here or explain.
We are a good family self-discipline and peaceful even. We are hard workers as will. I obtained B.A through an International Scholarship for distinguished students with a good standing GPA 3.1/4.0. We are an academic family will educated and socialized. We like people, but the Lebanese are very racist against us in every aspect of life in working neighboring and even the UNHCR protection staff are so rude and far away from humanitarian behavior. Every time we go to the local branch of the UNHCR they do not permit us to apply for the Refugee Protection Claim application.
I know that 126,300 Syrian refugees have gone to Netherlands since 2010 and we are so grateful as a Syrian for your help and I know that there are many of us who need help. Metaphorically, your drops will make the torrent flood of help for each of us.
We want you to help us in Refugee Protection Claim, we need the real protection rather than leaving under a racist community. Please we know the Dutch society is kind and passionate about the refugees situation. The majority of us can speak English. You are the only hope for getting us out of this country before it escalates more. We cannot endure this situation anymore.
Our request is to help us get the refugee sponsorship for immigrating to Netherlands to be resettled there. We will not be dependent on any government support or the UNHCR we will work and study and contribute for the growth of the Dutch society using our passion and creativity to achieve social growth and harmony among all diverse segments of any culture or community.
I know that there are certain resettlement submissions categories. Due to the lack of foreseeable alternative durable solution I want you to understand that we are the most vulnerable category and we need to be protected by you to be resettled in a third country because we are unable to get back to Syria and we have been lost here in Lebanon for 10 years and I ask you to help us to recompense these years to avoid the foggy future which will lead us towards a disorders.

Refugees are not getting everything for free. Vluchtelingen krijgen niet alles gratis. This is a lot more nuanced.
Building a new life in a new country without money is of course impossible. In most cases they have sold all their possessions to finance the trip to Europe and have nothing left.

Social assistance benefit
If status holders are independently housed in a municipality, they are eligible for social assistance benefits.
