Bad news for asylum seekers, the preferential treatment of status holders in the allocation of social housing is going to disappear. Without preferential treatment, count on 10 - 15 years of waiting time. You can of course buy something (count on minimal 300,000 euros) but then you also need to earn a lot, E.g. if you have a doctor's or engineer's degree and can work as a medical doctor or engineer.
Refugees are not getting everything for free. Vluchtelingen krijgen niet alles gratis. This is a lot more nuanced. Building a new life in a new country without money is of course impossible. In most cases they have sold all their possessions to finance the trip to Europe and have nothing left. Moreover, after receiving a residence permit, they do not yet have a job, because they have to learn the language and integrate. Social assistance benefit If status holders are independently housed in a municipality, they are eligible for social assistance benefits. As a society, we have chosen the amount of the social assistance benefit as the absolute minimum income. That is certainly not a great deal and also not an ideal starting position for refugees. Installation credit In many Dutch municipalities, refugees first receive a loan - installation credit. With this furnishing credit they can purchase the much-needed items, such as a bed, table, chairs and a refrigerator. This loan means that refugees will have their social assistance benefits reduced for three years to repay this loan. Help Refugee Work To ensure that refugees know where the best place to shop is, a volunteer from the Council for Refugees often also helps with advice: for example, we will advise refugees where the cheaper shops are in their municipality to buy their household goods and/or where goods can be delivered for free. can be achieved. Or we visit the thrift stores, for example. Health insurance Does an asylum seeker's permanent residence permit take effect? He can then take out Dutch health insurance within 4 months from that date. His health insurance will then start from the date on which the residence permit is granted. So powerful retroactively. In that case, he must also pay premiums to his health insurer retroactively. Groet, Rachel

@@VluchtelingenWerkNederland hi..I don't require asylum but interested in migrating for better work opportunities...any guidelines?
@@N_i_r_z Thank you for your question. VluchtelingenWerk Nederland assists refugees and asylum seekers from the moment they enter the Netherlands until they found their way independently. Our volunteers are supporting asylum seekers in the asylum centers and they help refugees to build a new life in the Netherlands. We offer counseling during the integration in the Netherlands, we help refugees with finding a job and we help families who are separated because they had to flee to reunite. We don't offer any information or assistance for migration for better work opportunities. You can best contact an agency or the Dutch embassy in your country of origin for more information. Best of luck! Paola - VluchtelingenWerk Nederland
Hello! I am lesbian (who's over 21 years old and a scholar) and my country is not safe. I have a long term partner and she moved to Netherlands few months ago with her Bulgarian passport. But because of the house crisis and financial problems, she couldn't find a house big enough to bring me there with partner visa. My question is can I apply for lgbt asylum? Am I eligible to do that?
We are sorry to hear about your difficult situation, @noraackerman3314! VluchtelingenWerk is not an international organization, but one that helps refugees and asylum seekers that are already in the Netherlands.
Furthermore, VluchtelingenWerk does not decide on asylum applications or issue visas for travel to the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, the Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND) looks into whether you qualify as a refugee on behalf of the Dutch government. You cannot submit an asylum application to the IND from abroad. You must travel to the Netherlands first. You can read more about the asylum procedure in the Netherlands here 👉refugeehelp.nl/en/asylum-seeker. There, you can choose your preferred language and get information specific to your situation.
We hope you'll find safety soon, and wish you all the best!
Kind regards, Esmee

@@VluchtelingenWerkNederland Thanks for your quick answer I appreciate you
Yes, I will apply for a Schengen visa, and then I will travel to the Netherlands via KLM. We have direct flights to Amsterdam from my country..

I apply visa for vist from Ethiopia but can I ask asylum when I reach Netherland?can they accept me?
Dear Moloro, Thank you for your question but it's not a question that we can answer. To get protection as a refugee in the Netherlands, you have to request asylum. From that moment, you will be a part of the asylum procedure. During this procedure, the Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND) investigates if you are a refugee recording to the European Convention on Human Rights.
In the Netherlands, you can request asylum if you're afraid to be prosecuted in your country of origin, if you're afraid of the death penalty or torture, if you're afraid to be violated or if you are traumatised due to events that happened in your home country. If your asylum request gets approved, you will obtain a residence permit. If your request gets denied, you will have to leave the Netherlands.
You'll find a lot of information in the video above. You could also look at the website of the IND: ind.nl/en/residence-permits/asylum/apply-for-asylum-in-the-netherlands#process-and-costs.

If a person enters the Netherlands with fingerprints from other European countries and he is gay, his asylum
application in the other country has been rejected. Speaking of homosexuals, the Netherlands government will give him asylum. What is the current status of asylum seekers in the Netherlands?

If a Bangladeshi person enters the Netherlands with fingerprints from other European countries and seeks asylum in that country, and he is a homosexual, there is no security in his country, will he receive asylum?
@@VluchtelingenWerkNederland
Moreover, how much importance is currently given to accepting asylum seekers in your country and those who get fingerprints from other countries are sent to the country or are they sent back to the country where the fingerprints came from?
