@loveappless I don't know if they fixed this in recent patches or not, but you can also pick banned champions with the time out random pick in draft mode too.
I really hope riot realizes, these are the 2 best shoutcasters in league of legends please upvote this so they can be in the grand finals because truly they are fantastic honest and skillful.

i assume you're refering to sona and taric. the main purpose of a support is to.. support. as redundant as that sounds, the support can support just fine without the need for the more expensive items by just using their skills and summoners. by buying the amount of wards that they do, they grant their respective teams greater map knowledge. besides the supports can get the gold they need for their support items through gold/10 items and through the assists they get. hope that explains it for you
@Pro1Mercer it only works in draft mode, where both players have the champions. for example, if i choose caitlyn, and you choose malphite. both of us need to have caitlyn and malphite(whether its free week or not)
TSM probably has 475 x 5 = 2375 g = roughly 2.3k while M5 probably has their support with level 2 Wealth in Utility Masteries (which provides 40 extra gold) => 475 x 5 + 40 = 2415 g = roughly 2.4k The k-type notation does not necessarily mean each .1 k is 100 gold

@Soeibbb they did play better but that Gallio barely surviving at 12:50 and that Shyvana barely surviving at 21:45 made a difference dude. Luck was involved too as usual :)

Correction: The k-type notation does not mean the difference of .1k = 100g. Because M5 and TSM's initial gold's difference is only 40 gold = .04k
